    Her daughter is 21 now, and has said that her mother deserves to die in prison. She also reportedly considered suicide at one point because she was afraid of becoming her mother. Far too often we forget that the victims aren't the only ones whose lives are ruined in these cases.

      She is an absolutely beautiful woman and I truly hope she separates herself from her mother. Just because she came from evil, doesn’t mean SHE is evil. I couldn’t imagine, though... I always wonder about the children of ppl like this and where they are now.

      @irishsakura1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      That’s the thing. They all say she had a normal uneventful childhood. No mention of her harming animals.
      Something awoke inside her that drove her to do this. Or maybe some people were born without souls.
      But I guarantee you that she is loving this image she created not to mention the attention. She would have fought tooth and nail if the death penalty was on the table. She knew the worst she could get is life. That is why she plead guilty.

      I don't think he believed her, but I'd have to do it just in case. Turned out the life he would have saved was his own as well as Mr Chapman. They would have uncovered the Polish man in the bin, because the girl to whom Dennehy had shown his body, would have told, like she did when they were doing door to door afterwards.

      Has there actually been a movie about her or is it just this documentary? What I find odd is that I am a British American from Ashton-Under-lynn England and lived in both Countries a few times since birth. I have followed serial killers in both Countries since Killbrides family lived near my family's home and I am dear friends with his brother and known his mother who brought sweets by our school in Ashton-Under-Lynn. Killbrides was the only one who was never found from the Moore's murders that taken place around my residence commited by Ian Brady and Myra Hindlys which upset the entire city and county. Ever since knowing Killbrides family I followed every serial killer since but I only heard about this women in passing in discussion with the Kilbride family and others.
      I lived in Ashton-Under-Lynn during the time of her killings but yet I never seen any documentary's or anything about her in great detail at all.
      I could only guess but really unsure that since her crime spree was short lived in çomparison to other British serial killers is the reason I have heard or studied about her as let's face it, two weeks from the time is started to the time it ended is sorta a blink of the eye. Police did a amazing job catching her without question but she was truly a evil person during this time. But anyways, do you know of any movie based on her or anything? I really would like to learn more about her. Going to start researching a bit more. Regarding Kilbride, it's a shame his Investigation stopped kinda permanently as JFK's assassination occured immediantly at the time he was kidnapped and I think that delayed so much time in finding him as jfk flooded the news taking over everything.

    • @supportyourtroopsathletes6460

    Joanna Dennehy is a perfect example of why it is the moral obligation of every state to have the death penalty for murder. Why should her victims' families get to pay for her to live her life in prison?
    >inb4 "hurr durr death penalty is more expensive"
    If someone killed my family member, I wouldn't want to pay for the murderer to stay alive. I would, however, be more than willing to pay, whatever the price, for the murderer to die.
    The death penalty is a moral obligation. It is the statement that murderer's lives are not worth more than their victims. Obviously it should only be applied in cases where guilt is beyond the shadow of a doubt, as in this case. But not having it at all is spitting in the face of the victims.
    EDIT: Also for pedophiles and violent rapists, as well as violent criminals with a foreign background.

    • @Gershelf
      @Gershelf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I agree with this. Especially the part where it should only happen in cases of the really, truly horrible people, when there is no shadow of a doubt.
      Hear to many who wants the death penalty, to be for everyone, and everything. Like get caught with a crack pipe? Death. Bit too far there.
      Cases like this though, where it is a person with no remorse, killing indiscriminately, and who would openly do so again, given the chance? I'd agree here. The death penalty is a serious ruling, and should only be used scarcely, but there are some cases where it is fitting. Like here.

      One main argument against the death penalty is that in a somewhat disorganized legal system, like the U.S., the margin of error for convicting someone who is innocent is too high. I forgot the specific number but there are numerous cases where innocents are convicted for murder and sentenced to death and are later proven innocent while waiting on death row, or even worse proved innocent after death. Having a fatal punishment is too drastic of a risk when taken into account how common it is for people to be falsely accused. And in cases like these where its cut and dry, some can argue rotting in prison is a worse fate.

    It's interesting. I've noticed that for some years now, people in law enforcement are willing to use the word "evil" to describe certain persons who commit particularly heinous crimes. Never, however, do they mention what the existence of evil implies. What is its source? How is evil to be distinguished from other unpleasant categories, such as hateful, vicious, gruesome, etc.? Or has it become just another word like those? It's interesting, isn't it?

      Evil is defined as, "That which destroys the good". People find the worst after the fact.

      Not really. Do you expect them to digress into a philosophical /religious debate about the source of evil? I don't. Evil is just the word most people will use to describe the most inhumane acts imaginable.
      Evil is already distinguished from the other words you used, since all words convey their own individual meanings. Although the word evil doesn't necessarily need to be completely independent of words like hate or vicious, etc. I don't see your point at all, to be honest.

      @@HumansAreShitFactories Your comment makes perfect sense...if...there is no God in the biblical sense, and no Satan in the biblical sense. In the biblical sense both are actual persons with wills they are intent on carrying out, one good, one evil. Without such "persons," what we call evil and good are merely human preferences. Also, it means that Hitler, with his extermination of Jews, Stalin with his gulags, and Mao with his deliberate starvation of millions of his own, were merely doing what they considered practical...and there is no logical rationale to debunk their actions. At best we could say, "I don't prefer his conduct...but that's just one opinion...and far be it from me to impose my opinion on others." That would also, of course, have a bearing upon someone ending your life, or raping your wife, etc. etc. Which all leads to the question: How long could civilization continue under such presuppositions? Actually, I think America is in the throes of discovering the answer to that question. But, this is just my opinion...far be it from me to so much as think of imposing it on others.

    They said at the end how rare a female psychopath with full blown psychopath and narcissism is. She really didn't go for long, torturous deaths. Granted multiple stabs do take time but death is quick. If i compare her method against Myra, I'd say Myra was worse, the tape of the 8 year old begging for her life still exists. Takes her 17 minutes to kill her. Another case would be the girl in the US, during the 60s,first name Sylvia. She was tortured to death over a period of 4 months which escalated into a final binge torture that lasted 48 hours until she was dead.
    On the psychopath scale she would probably be near 40. Plus she's a narcissist. She pleaded guilty to deny the state a trial. She cut off her nose to spite her face. Every single thing in her life is about her and life is a game. Her sole purpose is to outplay and outwit (kinda like Survivor) the next person. She has zero remorse and if you asked her what guilt and remorse are, she'd give you a dictionary definition but if you asked for an example it would be like asking her to explain love, tenderness, intimacy etc she has not got a clue.
    The only reason she will try to escape is because she's bored. Prison bores her now, because everybody is probably over her. She's definitely not suffering, and even if she was, she would not experience it like we experience it. She will try to escape again, she has 24 hours a day everyday to plan it. Thankfully, God saw fit to make her very hurried and impulsive, so long term planning isn't her strong suit.
    The easiest thing, and she'll probably do it would be to kill another inmate. However, she has time to think, and she's not stupid, she knows she will be segregated for years if she does. She doesn't understand lonlieness but I'll bet 5 bucks she cooperates with staff as long as they don't isolate her completely.
    A good example for the case that psychopaths are born, not made. Certainly environment did not contribute in this case. When the hormones kicked in, that pre disposition kicked off and the girl she was, was no more.
