Lol. Hey Rocko! That weekend was action packed and there were way too many characters. It was a flavorful episode for sure. I’m glad Cassie and the kids weren’t there; the mosquitoes and horseflies didn’t hold back. So many good people out there. Love you, brother!

Great video man! At least you had your recovery gear. I'm from Austin Texas, drove to Colorado Rocky mountains where I found another Tacoma stuck with only tow strap, no shovel or anything else and he got high centered and no cell phone coverage. He was so lucky that I ran into him while I picked that random trail. I pulled him out just in time before it got dark on him out there solo. But man! I love how you are so equipped with all the recovery gears. Way to go man! Love your videos!
He was lucky you were there!! Most logical people will agree that preparedness is key. I’ve actually been told by at least one person that tow straps/kinetic ropes aren’t necessary 🤣🤣. Im glad you use common sense; I mean, we are out there alone and have to make an effort to try and save ourselves. That won’t always work, but we can learn from it. I appreciate your support!! You can always use a bit of speed to get though patches but only try it if you can see the other side or you know what’s there. I’ve skated a few front wheel drive SUVs over patches like that. Just gotta check for holes. If it’s just a rut you’re good. Use good judgment and never go above 45 to cross a patch. If you don’t make it at 40 you probably wouldn’t have made it at 45. Just be on your toes, things get hairy quick at those speeds. When in doubt throttle out. Y’all did good though. When no ones around your only option is to dig it out. You would have gotten it if you had dug out under the chassis and dropped the boards in at no more than 45 degrees. I’ve gotten my big ol titan xd out like that. It’s nothing special, all stock down to the tires.
The mud there was weird. Watery at the top and then sticky in the middle with dry sand 12" down. The stickiest and nastiest goo. I was bottomed out and that passenger rear wheel was in a hole. Time and energy would have been the solution if our guardian angel subscriber hadn't showed up. lol.
@@CoastalGX I’ve had to camp out in mud holes before. Can be fun if you have enough hands and beer. Bust out the pit. Lol. That section back there is notorious for swallowing trucks. You’re a braver man than I.
@@CoastalGX Surfside beach south of Galveston gets like that too lol I’ve also encountered them so thick you couldn’t breath down at the isla Blanca jetty’s. The horse flys are the ones I hate the most. Good bug spray works for the skeeters but those dang horse flys are from the devil.
Finally heading to PINS this coming weekend. Camping on the National seashore. I’ll be traveling with my wife. We have a capable vehicle. But if something happens is there a local group that does recoveries on the beach? Any numbers or advice will be helpful.
I just found out about “361 Off-Road Rescue” on Facebook. Please join their group and ask if they have other resources. Most of my experience is at South Padre and there is plenty of people willing to help there. PINS is twice as large and more isolated so running into someone might be harder. Take your own recovery gear and remember that your phone may not work out there (signal is hit or miss.) Have a great time and keep an eye out for the weather!

361-4x4-rescue is another page on Facebook. Just in case you get back on it lol. I suggest you get a tow strap and identify your recovery points on your vehicle. Many people are willing to help but don’t carry their own. Good luck!

All is well, except I had to spend $30 in quarters removing mud before I left Port Isabel!!! The balancing was obviously off cause of the sticky mud. I'M STILL CLEANING IT UP! lol.
@@CoastalGX no problem. With Off Roading it all takes experiences...I don't know how many times I have been stuck in mud like that. But each time is a lesson and experience learned, and it makes me a better off road driver lol.

Should had pre-walk the mudholes and pick a line before attempting to cross ruts like that. I always do that.
I did it with the first patch, but failed to follow through when I got stuck. Lessons learned 🎥🎬👍🏽
