I thought On My Youth was the first time I'd feel disappointed but I ended up crying. Man nobody does it like them.

Yes, for me WayV is the BEST sound I've ever found in kpop. Listen, Johnny is my bias in the whole NCT, but WayV is the best unit. I've been into Asian music for more than 15 years, but there is no sound like WayV.

In this industry, people really really need to be able to learn to recognized which idols are just good because they were trained well, and which are great because they have more depth and layers and they bring more nuanced performance and interpretation of the characters they play in their songs, dance and video. Like let's talk about real artistry and performance. Ten really is a god-tier idol and people need to recognize and acknowledge it even if he is mostly singing in Mandarin. I mean honestly we all know that just because China, unlike Korea, has so little soft power, that a great deal of people immediately won't bother checking some artists out just cuz a group isn't a "real kpop" group. That, and of course SM has to do a better job.
The 2nd part being main reason many don't wish to listen to wayv and its sad. Plus SM mistreatment over the top for them. Wishing his solo album get more people to check ace ten and SM gives more promotion to wayv.

I understand there are a lot of members in NCT and the opportunity is hard to distribute but that's the thing people don't understand - that screen time, lines group stuff should be fair and reasonable in group stuff but solo activities of those who can do solo stuff should not be treated the same way. Solo stuff should be given to those who are ready. Period. It's not like a pie you divide equally between children. It's something that's given to the fittest members. And Ten even during his first solo performances in SuperM concerts honestly have the most solo artist energy and stage presence among all the NCT members. He really commanded those stages given to him and people were in awe. So solo stans who are complaining how Ten has more solo lab or station songs should understand how unreasonable it is to complain about it cuz Ten is not taking away an opportunity that belongs to another member. It is an opportunity he created for himself for being very good at his job. And let's be honest although a lot of the members are talented, being solo on stage is another story. All weaknesses you have as a performer will be easily pointed out. I think for these things, it needs some initiative (or some degree of it) from the members themselves to try and put out a song out there. Like how Kun made Rain Day happen. And Ten did Paint Me Naked and Birthday the same way - he worked for them. He literally approached many people he even joked about how some of them avoided him. It wasn't just SM giving it to him on a silver platter. I don't think it's as easy as telling SM , "Hey, I want to do solo/lab stuff." Although I do think SM tries to hype some members more just like how they did with Lucas' Coffee Break mv. I don't think it was more of Lucas' initiative cuz some members were actually more ready for a Lab song that time, but it was given to him cuz they are investing in him cuz he has that look that appeals to international stans. Other members could do the same. But I guess people don't have the same level of initiative, commitment, willingness and confidence to take a risk. Thank you so much for this reaction! This comeback was very emotional for us wayv fans bc they had been in a hiatus for almost 2 years and no one knew what was gonna happen to them. So when this cb was announced we collectively lost it. The title track, concept, and whole mini album were absolutely perfect. Wayv are very mismanaged & mistreated by sm (cough sinophobia & xenophobia) and also very underappreciated by other nct fans but they are soooo talented and soooo good. I really hope you'll react to their latest cb "on my youth" too! You'll love it!!❤ (+ their track videos)
FINALLY SOMEONE'S WITH ME ABOUT VIXX AND THEIR DEEP/UNCONVENTIONAL "DARK" CONCEPTS! WayV fits that role for the new generation SO well and they always seem EXCITED to try new things. I wish SM paid more attention to them, but I guess it really makes them a diamond in the rough!

Finally! This is my subunit. WayV really are their own genre. As far as my musical taste they never fail. I love how deep, dark and whispery Phantom is. And isn't the second part of that Phantom chorus gorgeous? Ahh. Visually it is amazing. I did not even realize how crazy the camerawork is, but the results are definitely exciting to watch. So now On My Youth. It is so good, and definitely deserves more love. TT
The reason I love WayV is because they are literal art! From the styling, to the lyrics, to the video set, to the dance, to the actual music composition. Every single thing about WayV is artistic and that's also how SHINee is! I love that you kind of compared them, because they're both my favorite male groups for that exact same reason.
My favorite moment in Phantom mv is those last shots where they're putting on their masks... the pacing and timing of the editing to the music gives me chills every time!

Thank you so much for this reaction! This comeback was very emotional for us wayv fans bc they had been in a hiatus for almost 2 years and no one knew what was gonna happen to them. So when this cb was announced we collectively lost it. The title track, concept, and whole mini album were absolutely perfect. Wayv are very mismanaged & mistreated by sm (cough sinophobia & xenophobia) and also very underappreciated by other nct fans but they are soooo talented and soooo good. I really hope you'll react to their latest cb "on my youth" too! You'll love it!!❤ (+ their track videos)

FINALLY SOMEONE'S WITH ME ABOUT VIXX AND THEIR DEEP/UNCONVENTIONAL "DARK" CONCEPTS! WayV fits that role for the new generation SO well and they always seem EXCITED to try new things. I wish SM paid more attention to them, but I guess it really makes them a diamond in the rough!

This mv and song blew my mind too!! Also it's my absolute favorite performance from their concert NCT Nation they just did in Japan!! Like they even did The Bat and Kick It and Broken Melodies BUT.....FOR SOME REASON THIS.....PHANTOM live on THAT huge scale and them singing live and Tens dancing and sexiness and ALL OF THEM omg that performance was EPIC!!! I still listen to this regularly and their whole album!

Finally! This is my subunit. WayV really are their own genre. As far as my musical taste they never fail.
I love how deep, dark and whispery Phantom is. And isn't the second part of that Phantom chorus gorgeous? Ahh. Visually it is amazing. I did not even realize how crazy the camerawork is, but the results are definitely exciting to watch.

The reason I love WayV is because they are literal art! From the styling, to the lyrics, to the video set, to the dance, to the actual music composition. Every single thing about WayV is artistic and that's also how SHINee is! I love that you kind of compared them, because they're both my favorite male groups for that exact same reason.

My favorite moment in Phantom mv is those last shots where they're putting on their masks... the pacing and timing of the editing to the music gives me chills every time!
