The changes are much more stringent, exposive and explosive, and even stretches to the margin of draconianism. Having said that, I guess Bharat only deserves it. A lot many motivated people were misusing the safeguards of the previous laws and the State was bound to react.
There's a famous quote by some Westerner, that democracy can't be allowed to be used to undermine democracy. I guess on the same lines, laws can't be allowed to be used to undermine the laws, and thereby lives and safety of people. And given the zillion attempts that has been made to do so by one and by all, as I said, even though it's unfortunate, Bharat deserves this.
Somewhere I read that a court once pronounced an accused as innocent on grounds that mere possession of jihadi documents doesn't make one an accomplice. Simply mind boggling.
How else would the State react in such a scenario?

India wants gender neutral laws. no to gender biased laws. male is the forgotten gender in our judiciary, government, media and society too. It's time to empower male gender too.

The govt while repealing the British raj laws, has introduces an even more draconian and regressive provision under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The new criminal laws do little to steer away from the colonial mentality of an all-powerful state. The new laws actually continues to reinforce the old colonial mindset.
Under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the ramifications of the change from 'rajdroh' (sedition) to 'deshdroh' (treason) and its replacing the unconstitutional Section 124A with even more ambiguous and vagueness of the new Bill pose a severe threat to the rights and liberty of ordinary citizens of India.
The new chapter adds duplication of offense like attempt, abetment (verbal), and conspiracy and its punishment has been increased to death or whole life sentence. Previously, the death penalty as a possible punishment for attempt to murder where hurt is caused by life-convicts has no reasonable basis and is disproportionate. This may lead to a situation where a convict serving life imprisonment for a non-homicidal minor offences. The little safeguards in the UAPA will also be no longer be available under these new laws.
A detailed discussion should have taken place before these laws were passed, but that did not happen. Why are these provisions rolled out, without consultation with police, courts, bar, and prisons to implement these laws? Chief Justice has called to improve the judge to population ratio. India has too few civil courts, staff and judges for crores of pending cases

XYZ2023, the word "abetment" is wrongly used in Indian legal system. It's real meaning is _assist/encourage_ someone to do something wrong.
But our legal system is interpreting it as _provoking or pressurising_ someone to commit suicide! Yes, "abetment" is most commonly used only for Suicides in India!
That is a completely wrong definition!

XYZ2023, the faults you've exposed in the new law is endorsed by many legal experts too!
_Deshdroh_ can easily reinforce the old colonial mindset!
And ambiguity and vagueness in the wordings of the Laws has always existed. Those laws are written by (paid) experts just to satisfy their political masters. Laws should be very, very specific and explained using simple terms.
Unfortunately, India has not yet matured to think and write in that manner.

Colonial means West. Elected Government can't be termed as "colonial". Understand the facts

@@devvikramsingh7785 I didn't mean the Govt is a western power. I mean that Govt is adopting a colonial mindset, passing laws that increase more control that are going to suppress rights & liberty of citizens of India, rather than promoting decolonization. These laws empower police (Indian cops already are known for misusing their existing power) with excessive authority, which is bad as it increases the politicians grip over police to use them further.

We would like to support individual reporters/videos who in our view are balanced and unbiased in their reportage and not subsidize the whole propaganda machinery.

Mm, we need laws with some teeth to get the bad guys behind bars; on balance these laws are required in today's risky world. The bad guys in govt will always overstretch their powers , that does not mean we don't need these laws

What is stopping corrupt cops from using it against you? UP has the highest number of custodial deaths in police stations, but no measures have been taken to address such type of issues here. Additionally, UP has the highest number of cases where victims are wrongly charged with crimes (FIRs get filed against them in a State where police often refuse to file FIRs) instead of the actual perpetrators. These laws empower police (Indian cops already are known for misusing their existing power) with excessive authority, which is bad as it increases the politicians grip over police to use them further.

Wait and watch. The Jihadi community will not suffer rather it will be the Hindus who are going to suffer. They have enough street power and monetary support to protect themselves from harassment.
      Hindus have nothing.
These draconian laws will make the lives of Hindus worse than what you can think
