Like your reactions! FYI, the dark-haired Agust D with the scar is not a police officer. I thought so at first, too. He is the Agust D who killed the blonde King in Daechwita. He's a crime boss and in with the cops. The cops are on the take, which is why they are saluting him as he walks out of the station on his phone. The guy on the ground making a call during the raid is calling to let him know he is being robbed. Watch the figures in black who are with the dark-haired August D they move they heads just like the prisoners in Daechwita. The new character has no scar, so he is not August D. it's Min Yoongi.
This song and mv has me in a choke hold. Not only did Yoongi's acting get SO MUCH better (and he was literally already a pro) but the entire cinematography supports it. The song is a banger, no question there. But the mv is so fascinating. In Daechwita he killed the blonde Agust D because he was too currupt with anger and resentment. Agust D didn't stand for that anymore. But in Haegeum the scar Agust D ended up just as corrupt as blonde Agust D was. It's interesting that the new Agust D basically started the mv by killing a person and ending it with the memory of that. Agust D is a trilogy because Yoongi finally managed to unite himself with Suga and Agust D. They're no longer separate because he learned to embrace all his feelings. But I'm still confused about the new Agust D. I suppose he's still violent because that's what Agust D is. But instead of only killing scar Agust D (like it happened with blonde Agust D) he ALSO burned the money scar Agust D had. My interpretation, which may not be correct. 🤣. Finally, applause to SUGA for yet another unique work of art.👏❤

Being from Germany I obviously don't speak any korean but just the whole build of this song and the mv going with it is just incredible. Agust D is literally talking about everything that is wrong in the world right now. Since hageum is an traditional instrument but also means liberation of prohibition. He is really asking who's on board for the revolution, for the new world, for the new kingdom and to get on board now. So we can fix everything that is broken. This is a masterpiece. The lyrics and wordplay are incredible. This is what rap in my humble opinion should be. A way of making people aware of all the social, economical issues and more. And Suga just did that. Salute.

It doesn't just mean the instrument, instead, Haegeum has another meaning - lifting a ban and allowing something that is forbidden. We can probably say that the track means, being freed from being forbidden.

Haegeum" is a traditional 2 string instrument from Korea. But it also mean something like "lift a ban" or" remove prohibition" That's why the lyrics are about freedom vs self indulgence and protest/riot or revolt.

Something that I noticed is that in this MV the sides aren't so B&W. Like the comparison to Daewichta (spelling sorry???), its obvious then that the King is evil & the commoner is the hero. But here w/ the criminal & cop... Well obviously the criminal is bad, he's hoarding a bunch of cash & is so big that he can strolling up to a restaurant & kill a man in broad daylight. As for the cop, well I don't think we technically see him do anything wong but... Idk his vibes are super sinister to me. Maybe cause that fit looks moe like a mafia boss than a cop to me lol
Not to mention in this one the obvious good guy cop is killed, again contrast to D. Like is Suga just in his villain era or is he saying the cop isn't as good as we think he is???

If you watch it carefully the cop is a dirty cop. He was running a local gang. So the gangster yoongi is actually like an anti hero.

oh you thought the "villain" was the new Yoongi? I saw this as the police chief Yoongi is the villian here. He is the same who overthrew the mad king in daechwita and moved up and built himself a gang/mafia (he has a healed scarred face). The place new Yoongi raided at the beginning belonged to the corrupt police chief Yoongi. Chief gets a call from that one bald guy in the room when the raid is happening hence why the police show up so fast- also that bald guy is the insider who gives new Yoongi the gun in the barrel as he drowns him.
So new Yoongi burning the money is like, removing the greed and temptation that the previous Yoongi fell trap to, so he wouldn't repeat the same mistakes and become corrupt. Hopefully breaking the cycle.

To me this is the story i get from the video.This is the king and Agust D from Daechwita reincarnated to the present. The king is again gained power being a high ranking corrupt police officer (as he is leaving the police station the other cops solute him indicating high rank) But at the end Agust D once again out smarted the cop by laying a trap by getting the king's men to turn on him/by replacing them with his own men. It could also be that he was an undercover/rogue cop because he got a lift in a cop car in the end😊

Haegeum has two meanings. The first is a traditional Korean stringed instrument used in this music "this song's a haegeum", and the second, as the lyrics say, "a new kind of haegeum" means "unlock".

Its clear that AGUST D and SUGA are very different personas but in a way similar (both savagely aggressive in their own way). Personally, I’ve always looked at AGUST D as MIN YOONGI’s real self. Like our man as come for our souls with this modern take of DAECHWITA. *HAEGEUM means to lift a ban* and in my opinion, a unspoken fact as a Kpop stan for 15 years Ive only known BTS as the artists who are bold enough in talking bout those forbidden truths within and outside of their music.
