Thanks for actually showing in game testing on the changes Cautious! Rather than just reading off the update notes it's nice to see the in game effects and decide whether I want to update my game to the new version or not! :D
The one thing that I wish they would prioritize fixing is the zombies being able to see the player through 95% of the block shapes. I feel like the community is really letting the dev's slide on that issue. Maybe I'm alone on this, but Zombies seeing through walls is the most frustrating bug in the game (especially since it's a bug that spills over into all overhaul mods). I'd rather see that fixed than any of the changes we've gotten since launch.
Theres some interesting little changes in there. Agree with you on the headlight, good change. I also quite like the updates creamer sound. After a few years the old sound was more like a scratching record, harsh and irritating, new sound is better.
Hopefully the helmet light brightness decrease also affects the impact to stealth rating accordingly (not that stealth is particularly worth running a dedicated build around anymore..)
Appreciate that the devs allow us to set on Steam which version to play. It sucks that I can't enjoy the new updates right away, but it allows me to continue to play my modded 7D2D, while giving the amazing modders time to update their mods for us. IDK why other games with a modding scene doesn't do this, the method is a feature that Steam implemented that a player can easily tick.
Thanks for this update, Pancake! I managed to record with it on Saturday, the new animals look good and behave different, too. The chickens will peck along the ground and the rabbits will feed, too. The chime when you get the bonus book is a great addition. Didn't notice new screamer because I didn't see any.
@@CautiousPancake lol depends on your heat levels, as always. I can't leave 1 forge and 1 campfire running without coming back to a screamer horde.😂 And I only just discovered dew collectors add to heat as well so the 8 on my roof probably won't let it subside.😅
Have to admit, all those years ago, first playing the game the Screamer really did give me the chills....one of the only games to ever have made me jump. Have they spoiled her, hrm... a wee bit.
Subbed because you showed comparisons, game has potential but these things need to be changed. I commented same on steam as well. Game is not good until these changes: 1. UI and Crafting System: Needs a complete overhaul. 2. Vendor Quests: Give players a device or some way to start and finish vendor quests without physically going to the vendor. I want to do quests for other vendors too, but I can’t because the distance is too big. At that point, playing the game just doesn’t feel worth it. 3. Official PVE and PVP Servers: Add servers with wipes, similar to Rust. 4. Base Building and Loot Transfer: Building another base and transferring loot is almost impossible. Players need an option to do it through a vendor (like a moving service) or something similar. Right now, everyone is stuck at the starting location. 5. Zombie Variety: Add more zombie types to keep things interesting. 6. Biome Transitions: Make biome transitions smoother. 7. Grass Texture: Why does the grass look like Deadpool’s hair? What’s the issue here? 8. New Building system, right now game offers basically 4-5 usable blocks and probably more than 100 that nobody is using... 9. Much better ost
It would be great if they add a death count limit option for servers to make the game even more interesting. 10 deaths and your character starts from 0 or its banned from server.
i think the brightness change is good but they should make the nights a little darker then what is now in all biomes at least gives lights in the game and torches especially a purpose
Thanks for the update, I haven't delved too deep into 7DTD last few weeks. Maybe it's my sound system or the recording software but when the screamer goes 'full Karen', it sounds like it's clipping, a bit like Trader Hugh. I hope it's a software issue on my end but it blunts the effect of her rage.
I thought the burning had to do with the Krispy Kreme guys out in the burnt Forest. I think you better check to see if those guys are on fire now and crackling and smoldering. That was my understanding on that update.
They need to add some dang weapons! They don't need to really be like now, where an AK is worse than an AR. Make one hit harder but fire slower, etc.. without an update, it is getting boring quicker than it needs to!
Has been any mention if pc mods will be supported on ps5/Xbox? I owns 7days on both steam and ps5. Since my sis don’t have good pc. Ive been playing with her on ps5. But do admit. Missing using nexus mods for 7 days. So has been any mention supporting this later? Both current gen console have enough ram (16 GB) for mods. So that shouldn’t be issue now. At least for ps5/XSX. Good video and thanks
they removed "zombies smell fresh meat in player inventory" and you expect them to add this? vanilla is getting dumber and dumber every year. survival aspect in this game is now puddle deep. So grateful for overhaul and standalone mods!
@@CautiousPancakeI’m so annoyed that they keep wasting time updating the models. No one cares about a new chicken. It doesnt change the enjoyment of the game. No one is buying the game because of a new rabbit. Spend time on new quests, better end game, NPC raiders, etc.
@CautiousPancake Yeah, it is more upsetting as the description says it chews up wood and zombies. Lumberjack armor actually turns the steel axe into a good melee, but chainsaw barely gets 76 dps though block damage is 500+ DPS. Is it so hard to make my dreams of being Ash Williams (Evil Dead) that difficult Fun Pimps. Even the boomstock is underpowered...but maybe they will make them better in the future.
Going on 12 years in early access…can we get at least one meaningful update that isn’t just a re-work of something that’s already in the game? The last real content addition that I can remember was the update with the tech weapons which probably took them all of 2 weeks to develop…and maybe the trader quests that were also minimal effort.
I don't know where exactly I sit on that - part of me agrees - it's certainly worth a review at some point to look at what changes were beneficial and what were not - for example the water change, so they could bring in the dew collector, or the learn by reading - I also wonder how much some of the changes were forced by the plans to bring it back to console.
@ learn by reading; rework of an existing feature. Dew collector; glorified container with a timer on it; minimal effort once again. It took 1 hour to make the model and 3 seconds to program. I’m a developer. I know these things
yeah not really a fan of screamer sound tbh.. vanilla really should fix stupid permanent lightning full moon for a month to cater to scared of dark players. Im playing Rebirth now (on my 5th restart btw haha) and when it gets dark: its BLACK dark; you can't see what tool you got unless you look at your hotbar..as it should be! "kinda spooky" when you can see freaking zombie from mile away.. come on lol for the weather update I just don;t get it tbh.. we don't ask for a full blown out crazy a55 thing while awaiting 2.0 now; just make temperatures work, make player cold when it rains or snows, hot when close to a fire or in the desert.. so many overhaul mods made it work with a single developer and it's actually good! I just don't get it.
My biggest question is how are they going to properly implement all these whether and tempature mechanics with the new armor system. I wonder if you're going to have to rely on insulating armor mods because that's the only thing I can think of. I also hope they don't go too hard with the biome progression as I would like for it to still be possible for you to go to the wasteland at the very start of the game if you want to because imagine if they make the wasteland radioactive therefore making impossible for you to go there in the early game.
Since the game is on console now I'm guessing that this shouldn't be a problem anymore because console players won't be able to go back to older versions.
Lol if storms brewing is now 2.0 does that mean the update after will be 3.0? Imo this spells disaster as they are trying to make the changes seem more major than they are by making the version number bigger, makes it clear what tfp think of us. This is now not just an “update” to 1.0 this is a whole new “version”. Expect another delay in the new year
Yeah I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of this myself Although it's not super uncommon for games to go up a whole number for big updates I just still feel they should have stuck to the more traditional version numbering for big updates as this is definitely just for marketing. And also speaking of delays since they already delayed 2.0 that means 3.0 and 4.0 will all most likely be pushed back now as well.
Yeah I wasn't sure how I felt about that - to an extent I think they have to change due to the extra releases they do around consoles now, but it's a leap to call it what we'd normally consider a "2.0". And yeah the one after will have to be 3.0 - very strange after years of alpha's.
Thanks for actually showing in game testing on the changes Cautious! Rather than just reading off the update notes it's nice to see the in game effects and decide whether I want to update my game to the new version or not! :D

I hate that screamer so much. I wish someone would make a mod to change the scream to a melody. I hate the screamer almost as much as I hate Rekt.
The new vulture looks like a turkey
i thought that about the chickens!

not surprised. just like bandits, only difference being that nobody asked for any storm.

Hey, good video.
See an error in the website post there, I have to correct that.
How do you prevent the game from crashing on horde night?
I don't think it's ever crashed on a horde night for me - some console errors only when I'm messing with mods. Are you on PC or console?

when is the learn by looting update were they remove the terrible learn by looting feature.

A delay was to be expected tbh
10+ years.. anyone expecting no delays in this alpha is an idiot at this point.
100% delay expected/achieved :D
Screamer sounds much better
It’s good news but I can only have one world on ps5 and I’m not deleting a level 300 character for a random generated map.
I think the new burning stuff is on the burnt zombie only. So it looks like its still on fire and burning.
That's a good thought, but they don't seem to be burning any different - same flames just on the feral burnt zombie as before.
