We have vulcanos in Germany. They are in the Eifel. There is still vulcanic activity. Last eruption was the Laacher See about 13,000 years ago which was the size of the Pinatubo eruption in 1991. The it will erupt again eventually. But we are most likely safe in our lifetime.
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with the German health care system. I am very glad that you are feeling better again. I work for a big German health insurance company. If anybody here has any questions about the healthcare system in Germany I can probably help. Please feel free to contact me anytime.
Two years ago I called an eye clinic because of eye problems. She gave me an appointment 4 weeks later, but she called back 1 hour later and gave me an appointment for the afternoon. 8* weeks later I had cataract surgery on both eyes, I had a special lens inserted in one eye and no longer needed glasses after 50 years. The cost of the lens was €500 (the price of new glasses) + €10 prescription fee. There are good and bad experiences, but you have to look at the big picture - it's in the top ten compared to other countries. * Health insurance company insisted on a 4 week break between the 2 operations for safety reasons.
Omg... How much I value that I could always go to pretty much any doctor same or next day in Ukraine. Always If I booked paid clinics visit instead of free healthcare, I could wait maybe 1.5 week maximum
@arndobler1096 Thank you for sharing your experience! It sounds like you had quite the journey with your eye treatment, but it’s fantastic to hear that it turned out so well for you in the end. Getting cataract surgery and no longer needing glasses after 50 years must feel like a real game-changer!
From reading the comments it looks like healthcare waiting times are very dependant on the region. Unfortunately in the UK it seems (from reading comments) that our waiting times are much longer than in Germany . I’ve been waiting for surgery on my nose for over a year now and will likely wait another 12 months atleast. Again in the UK it can be dependant on what area you live in.
I live in Germany in the black forest near the Rhine and we also have some earthquakes now and then though not on the New Zealand level. But it can be quite shaky sometimes...
But we won`t ever have sometimes similar to the Christchurch earth quake in Deutschland. Do You remember that? I´ve been to Christchurch before the earth quake and I couldn´t recognized the city at all in den pictures we got after the catastrophe.
@@dgerkrath not as often of course. But for example the city of Basel was completely leveled in 1356 by a magnitude 7 earthquake. I experienced some 3,5 to 4 ones in my lifetime causing nearly no damage...
Nice video, but your view on the health system is not fully correct. Many people wait also here for months for a specialist appointment, even if they have cancer, and then sometimes are lost because of the late appointments. And many other big problems in the health system exist here in Germany. And it's slowly but surely collapsing, the whole system. In some regions though, you don't notice this yet, but experts say this, based on facts. Some fields like pediatric medicine or dentists are still mostly very good.

And there aren’t enough staff in the German health care system either and they are overworked and underpaid too it is only getting worse in light of the growing size of the aging population over the next 20 or so years
I'm German but live in Australia. I recently went back to Germany for a visit as I do love Germany and friends and family were telling me the health system is struggling and many waiting to see specialists. They also pay a higher percentage, ca 13% of their income into the German health system. They all said its not like it used to be.

Kiwi who lived in Germany for 8 years this isn’t true re wait times with the Germany health system. It depends on where you live. I had specialist wait times of 9 months in Germany for things. My son had long wait times as well for specialists. It depends where you live in Germany.
Antoinette, i hope you are healthy again!!!❤️

That’s really fascinating! I had no idea that Germany has volcanic activity, especially in the Eifel region.
@@AntoinetteEmily Well, it is quite a difference if You had the last volcanic eruption 13000 years ago or only a few years ago.
Glad to See you back
You are sounding much better! I enjoyed this video. 😊❤
Kia ora Sister, just saying"Hi" from Paradise and glad to see you are back to your usual happy, healthy self.

I live in Germany and waiting lists are long here too. My husband waited for an eye doctor examination 8 months and my daughter and I for 6 months.
