Wait are you supposed to practice? earlier this summer I discovered worshiping with flags at my new church and I kind of just jumped in and I love it (I grew up in a stand-up sit-down, clap when the preacher tells you to clap Church, so it was a big difference).
And different movements just come to me and God tells me which color flags to use, does this happen with you guys?

What size flag to start out with ? And what kind of fabric is best to learn on when first learning?
Donna Lints thanks for following up with a question. 🙂 I recommend using the size of flag that you will want to keep using, in other words, probably a large flag.
It won't take long to become comfortable with moving and dancing with a worship flag so you can start with the type of flag you'd want to continue with.
Most well-known established flag makers will make flags with appropriately weighted fabrics; either sheer, shimmer or metallic, like I use is great for beginners (or anyone) and silk flags are also light weight. You want to avoid heavy fabrics as they don't flow as well and will cause you to become fatigued.
