- I wondered what it would be like sleeping in a cacoon cocoon hanging shelter. Not great, but was an interesting experience. campfire cooking.

I am SOOO impressed with your Dutch Oven bread. I've been baking all kinds of bread years... (50!) but I haven't had any luck with Dutch Oven bread. I used to volunteer at a historical village in Massachusetts (United States). We called the cast iron stand for the cast iron pots we used when we were cooking on or next to a fire a "spider".
I am a camping addict & do so every chance I get. Unfortunately, last year while camping & exploring I fell off a cliff & broke my back. I finally got to go camping almost a year later. It was magic. However I thought I picked up a tummy bug & went home early only to end up in hospital the next day. It wasn’t a tummy bug, I have stage 3 cancer. I just had my last chemo & as soon as I get my strength back I’m going again, just me & my doggie. Your videos are great! They have helped to keep me in a happy place during this hard patch.
I pray you get better and can get back to camping soon!
I am going through testing at the moment whenever my insurance agrees to pay my chest starts hurting i cant breath and the doctor says my lungs sound bad i cant breath my chest hurts very bad and my family just say im useless and lazy but i hope you get back in the woods i cant walk through my home without suffocating so far these videos keep me going and i pray you get back out there

Andy- Some notes:
- excellent courage to film yourself getting in that thing, especially on a hillside
- missed opportunity for some mosquito ASMR content. Perhaps another video is in the works?
- morning mist scenes were fantastic. Great job capturing that feeling.
- the log rolling all the way into camp would have been a fun editing gag
- I always enjoy the rustic, experimental cooking. This recipe did not disappoint!

Andy, this was a superstar video, we're not sure that we could manage the circular hanging device (which took us back to Kim Basinger's dress in "My stepmother is an alien") but the bread and brie combo Dude, wondrous. Top effort, if we may say so. Should have had wine with it. Never saw Croques Monsieur coming, either. Cheese Fest!

I'd love one of these, if there is a way of adding a round wodden bottom to it and build a custom memory foam mattress.. I have a huge tree this could hang from on my property.
Hats of to you for trying something unusual and different. I have to say I enjoyed that - despite you not having your full English breakfast. That hammock, oh my, it was like child birth. Took nine months of preparation and then the moment of truth was a thing to behold! Ha ha

I think this is a fourth video I have seen from you. The first one was in a cardboard box raining maybe four or five months ago. I agree with the gentleman that this one had something different about it. I like your personality you are a good quality gentleman, you remind me of my brother-in-law who is from Yorkshire England and loved his beer and wine & scotch and anything else with alcohol 😂lol of course. I'm watching this video 11:45 p.m. at night I'm in bed and I honestly want to eat something because of the bread you made lol lol 😅. I live in New England and I really must know... Who owns all of these beautiful spots and how do you get permission to Camp there??
Most of the land in England is privately owned and wild camping illegal. Finding out who actually owns the land, contacting them and getting permission to cut wood/light fires/camp overnight is very, very difficult to achieve. Also most land is criss-crossed with Footpaths and Bridleways so very hard to find such secluded spots (especially in a highly urbanised county like Kent) I enjoy Andy's videos but they do give the impression (especially to his many overseas Subscribers) anyone can easily just wander off and find wonderful, secluded camping spots all over England. Fact is you can't. I don't know how Andy manages it but I suspect a lot of his videos are all filmed in the same area of Woodland where he's somehow managed to get permission. @@linh8997
Humans evolved sleeping on the ground. On a flat, non moving surface( After our ancestor, monkey relatives climbed down from the trees). Any sleeping device that doesn't let you strech out in a near flat position is not confortable. Even on a Hammock you sleep accross, (not in the direction of the hammock) which places you almost horizontal. If you get seasick on a boat, that thing will do to

I don’t know about this hammock tent. I just keep imagining waking up to my local bear sticking his head in to see what might be available for breakfast. Just about the right height.

Great food but constipation comes to mind.
Man in the winter ypu could hang it over the fire and stay warm. Seems a pita. No ventilation is issue for me. Frame not so much so. If it started spinning I,'d get sea sick on the mountain. Maybe an anchor to toss out. All good. Make a good backyard camp for the kids

I'm not surprised in the least bit. That thing was way too wide and firm to even have the benefits of a hammock, so at that point you'd be better off on the ground.... A hammock should let your body fully sink into a natural pose and swaddle you. that thing didn't do either.

OMG! What a delicious bread you made. I will definitely try this. You are such an amazing chef. There is nothing you cannot make on a camp fire and you have proven that over and over. Who else thinks Andy and Simon should collaborate on a campfire cookbook? I used to demonstrate hearth cooking in an historic 1830's village. I hate to admit it, but my bread never looked as good as Andy's.
I think it would be a great idea, but it appears Andy isn't exactly a "measuring" kind of chef. (pinch of this...pinch of that). LOL I may be wrong. :) It would be wonderful, though. I'd buy one!

You and Simon have inspired me to make bread in a Dutch oven. I did that last weekend in our backyard fire ring and it turned out fine. Only that it burned the bottom. I need a trivet... and cheese for next time. Thank you for all the work you do to bring us these videos. They are fun to watch (you) and they teach and inspire!

I wonder if it would be better to have a rectangular base ,would that make it more level to lie on , less of a hammock like curve , an extra pole down the middle for a two man tent and a zip up door and green . Is it warmer off the ground or does it catch the wind more ?

I agree with you on all this hot weather. I never thought I would say "come on winter". The fires really scare me and the flooding everywhere too. Calming, soothing snow. Of course, I'll complain about that too. But, oh well. lol

Well, fresh bread whilst camping wild, not to mention the melted cheese! You had some trouble sleeping, yes? At least you didn't have to cook in the morning speaking of which what a PROPER English morning! Thank you for testing the suspended seat/hammock. I shan't be buying one.

If this was in my back yard I probably would try possible to put a round board on the tent floor the same or a little smaller then the interior demention. It would span it and keep it from sagging 👍

Brave soul . This item would be perfect for a glam camping adventure. I'd use it for chilling during the day. Setup a tent for sleep due to the hanging tent had no solid floor. I appreciate you showing us different tents and comfortbility stats

Poor Andy. Fellow it looks like your hanging in a big red ball sack. That must be terribly stifling and hot. And cramped im guessing?. Im missing my favorite place. The anderack shack with the slanted grass roof. To me that has always seemed like home base for your channel and was the first video i watched was you building it. Another great video.
I would love you to put the receipes and the amounts you use to make your various meals with each video for those of us who love to or want to try cooking over a fire like you do.
Quite liked this location, situated in the woods but with a rural field aspect. Looks like a great place to sit in the shade, drink a cuppa and watch the activity in the fields. Hope you do another video here.

Spray the bug spray in your hand and wipe it on your face. That's the technique I use. Great videos!

Ive never wanted a saw so much in my life. I never camp anywhere that would require me to use it as campsite generally want you to buy bags of wood from them and not forage it from the surrounding area but whenever Andys saw comes out it reminds me of the montages you got in the A-Team whenever they built something
Old Beech trees tend to drop their branches without warning or windy conditions.
