I do not know how this video showed up in my suggested videos but I am glad it did! I live in New Bern! Been here since 1991 and I have personally seen this city grow exponentially. This was a great video and a great history lesson for even me! I could never move away from New Bern. I am 41 years old and have been all over the world being that my dad was in the army but when he was done in 1991 we moved here since 95% of our family live here. Now being that it is 2023, I have lived here most of my life! Thanks again for a great video!
Thank you for the watch and taking the time to comment - it is very appreciated. And wow - 30+ years - bet you have seen some changes! Glad you have found your home - we definitely enjoyed visiting it! Hope you have a great rest of the summer!
Agree - we thought it would be a nice stay but were surprised at how much we liked it! It is also a great location for enjoying the nearby beach towns as well. Thanks for watching!
Hey guys! Hope all is well! We love New Bern! And have been to Beaufort and Morehead City a few times and love the small beach town vibe. We are actually working on another video for that area. If you are ever up that way let us know and maybe we can do a meet up!
I’m jealous of your beautiful weather, seems like winter will never end here in the pacific NW. looks like a great place and beautiful old architecture
Well we were back to sleet and freeze warnings today haha! We really enjoy these historical small towns but we were surprised how much we found to enjoy here. Thanks for watching as always!
We love doing day trips to New Bern (we live about 45 minutes away) and recently bought our first TT so we’ve been planning on staying at Flanners Beach but then after joining KOA, thought we’d probably give them a try too. Thanks for showcasing the area - it is a beautiful one! Love that you take your sweet pupper as many places as possible too!
It is a beautiful area with the beaches so close by! Congrats on the first camper! What did you choose? And lol - Desi would be highly offended if not invited along lol
@@WinesPinesandCanines awwwe!! We might just be available for an ear scratch or two LOL!! (Actually our furry girl LOVED butt scratches more!!) 😂 We have had (all older, in serious need…) pop up, a B, and 2 C’s so it was time to venture into new & travel trailer world and we went with an old stock unit for a great price, 2022 Prime Time Tracer LE 190 - only 22ft but double axel so a great start and with one slide, perfect size for 2 of us. Also at 4,000 lbs, good size for our current tow vehicle too (4 Dr Tacoma V6 4WD, 6,400 GVWR). Both will work for now 😎.
It is a great town - cant believe we have missed it all these years as we are so close lol. Rodanthe is beautiful - would live to hear about your trip when you get back. We are always looking for tips! Thanks for watching!
In addition to great travel logs, I thank you for all the great tips and tricks for your GeoPro. I have learned so much that I can apply to my late fall purchase of a 16 ft 2021 EPro (both models nearly identical in build materials despite the different floor plan and less space ). Sadly It's been snowbound here in MT since a week after I brought it home -- about 90 miles north of Yellowstone National Park (never even got a chance to put the cover on☺️) But spring is coming by the end of April🤣. Thank you again -- so enjoyable; glad to see Desi still in your travels.
Thank you :). And ohhh - 90 miles north of Yellowstone sounds like heaven - at least in the summer months haha! Luckily only a few more weeks to go - hopefully you have some trips lined up? And thank you - Desi is doing pretty good so far although limited in travels. Thank you for watching - appreciate and Happy Camping!
Congrats on the move! What is your favorite spot in the city? We are hoping to do a return visit sometime this year. And thank you - we appreciate the watch!
Y’all are having to do what we always did with Scout. If there was something one of us really wanted to do, but it wasn’t dog friendly. One went and filmed and the other stayed with the furbaby. ❤. Love the maze of bushes. What a cute town. Do love a good waterfront park. Midlothian, our hometown, was named the same way. It was named by an engineer that said it reminded of his hometown in Midlothian, Ireland. Love the little bears. Food looked delicious. Aww! Desi got a toy. Great to see you guys. Bill and DeAnna
Exactly! Troy and Desi hung back and took a nap for a few hours 😂. Midlothian sounds like a place to add to our list. And lol - desi always gets a toy! Hope to see you soon! Take care!
We just found your TH-cam channel today and the first thing we noticed was your beautiful Havanese. I'm so sorry to hear about Desi having health issues. He's beautiful. It makes my heart so happy to see a Havanese in full coat. We have two Havanese and one Lhasa Apso and I adore the long coats. Once we started RVing it quickly became apparent that long coats are very difficult to keep clean while traveling. My dogs are very light-colored and they get filthy so i trimmed them short last fall and hate it. :) I see you use a stroller for Desi and think maybe that's where I'm making my mistake. :) Wishing Desi good health and maybe we'll see you on the road. :)
Hi! Thank you - he is definitely the one that runs the house lol. He can be a demanding sort but too cute to tell no haha. And with his health - he pretty much gets what he wants anymore! But he is doing well - much better than the vets expected so we are grateful. We have always had him in the long coat but dang - it is a lot of work at times. I can’t imagine having three with long hair! And it is a challenge to keep him clean on long trips - as you know - their hair picks up everything and I imagine being light colored makes it worse. But him having black hair makes it impossible to see ticks so I always worry on that! We love the stroller! It definitely keeps him cleaner plus I don’t have to worry about him getting tired (especially now) or stepped on or randomly eating something off the ground lol. Question - how big are yours (and names?). Desi is 20lbs so a bit on the hefty side for a havi! And checking out your channel this weekend! Happy camping to all 5 of you!
@@WinesPinesandCanines I'm so glad to hear that Desi is doing well. He is definitely a big boy but I've heard of many that are his size. Greta (7 yrs) and Jimmy (5.5 years) are the Havis and they each weigh 14.5 pounds. Gigi (8 yrs) is the Lhasa and she weighs 10 pounds. She came to live with us about 2 years ago but was originally our daughters' dog and they could no longer keep her after a move they made. She's never been in long coat but I'm working on it. I had not thought about black dogs and ticks but can certainly see the concern. We live in Arizona and have never had an issue with them here but now that we're traveling it's more of a concern. I don't use flea and tick prevention as I know the dangers of it so I use an all-natural approach, which includes lots of body checks. I imagine this Fall when we head to the east coast it will be constantly on my mind. Thanks so much for checking out our channel, we just started this RV adventure last summer and are looking forward to heading out next week for a 3-month trip. Hopefully one day we'll see you on the road! Safe travels to you and yours!
Greta, Jimmy and Gigi sound like a great trio. ❤️ Yes - I rarely use flea and tick on Desi - only when we are traveling to an area with a high tick population. Unfortunately that is much of the east coast - lyme disease is definitely an issue. I do not like giving it to him but I also know there is no way I would ever see one on him! Lighter colors would be easier! Congrats on the upcoming trip! Where are you headed?
Swiss american from Vermont. my Mom from Grindelwald Kanton of Bern Switzerland. we travel to north Carolina with are travel trailer in May. will check out New Bern . thanks for the nice video Werner
Hi! We have never been to Switzerland but on our bucket list! Glad we could help add a stop to your trip! Thanks for watching - appreciate. Happy Camping!

Hi! Thanks for the info and that is a fun fact! We have lived in the state for years and always had New Bern on our list and are so glad we finally visited. It is definitely on our go back to visit again list. Thanks for watching!
Hello There, I just snapped off my cabinet door above the sink, the plastic triangle dowels snapped in two. Do you have a video on how to fix this? I have a 2021.5 Epro 19FBS Thx! Rene B
Hi! We don't have a video on it - we have been lucky so far. But, Hoffman Industries makes the dovetail keys I believe. If you email them at info@hoffmann-usa.com, they might be able to send you some replacements. Have seen others repair it by putting a flat L bracket on the inside of the door. Not as pretty a repair but effective! (and can't be seen unless the cabinet door is open) Hope that helps!
Thx! I just got my dove tails and am going to give it a try. Got some good advise on some FB posts. Wasn’t going to try, but when the dealer to,d me it was $129 hr…..I said the heck with that, so I am following your lead in doing it myself. Wish me luck. Thx!
Wow! 129$ an hour. Yes - definitely a DIY! Thinking adding some glue this time ( don’t think they are from the factory) might also help the joints stay together better. Let us know how it goes!
Lovely place to visit. However, do not move here unless you have boat and/or historical home money to live downtown and/or are retired. No shopping and few decent restaurants outside of quaint downtown area. Horrible place to find work unless you’re part of the elitist “professional” class and have $$$ and connections. The haves have plenty, the rest of us are struggling because the retirees from up north have been driving up the housing market for decades.
That is sad to hear. It is a beautiful area and we enjoyed our visit very much. But we didn't visit the surrounding area much. Hope that things improve for you. We appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Understandable, but the incoming retirees do add quite a bit to the economy as they increase the tax base and spend money on goods and services in the area; the spending helps create jobs.
