i'm very sorry for you loss. i've also lost a child and there are no words to describe the pain. some days i just sit and listen to music because i'm at loss for words. it's been 9 years since my daughter passed because of premature birth and i can say that while it will always hurt take comfort in knowing that your son is always in your heart. i love this song as well. i hear it all the time on my pandora chill out station. sometimes i cry when i hear it because i miss my baby.
It builds on a simple melody to a rich, full sound with dynamics. I get caught up in the melody and mesmerized as it does touch on my the feelings of my past.
Let me just say something as the uploader of this track and the rest off the album. I was just a teenager at the time, and had found his music through Pandora. I bought both Mellowdrama and Don't Wake Me on CD. When Don't Wake Me was released, it was impossible to find on TH-cam. I was kind of excited to share these tracks with the world and thought it might help his exposure. Never did I think it would receive as many views as it has, which is kind of special. I have not profited from this in ANY way, nor do I want to. If I were to, I would find a way to get it straight to Joey. If Mr. Fehrenbach ever requests for me to take these tracks down I will do so, respectfully. I am so happy that so many people have been touched by this music. His last two albums have been excellent as well. One personal favorite is Always Her off of A Subtle Effect.
This song reminds me my dad who left this earth sucks I couldn't be there when he took his last breath. But this song makes me think about his smile !!
..so I was riding my bike to the beach listening to Pandora & THIS came on. I was immediately transfixed. I wondered as I rode what the name could be (had to stop to see the little screen). The 'song' was just so...so...delicate. When I did stop to finally check, I was blown away! I've 'claimed' it ever since ;)
