  • In March of this year, Japanese Ambassador Koji Tomita and California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on behalf of Japan and California. It outlines areas of cooperation to strengthen efforts to combat climate change in areas such as renewable energy, zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), energy storage, and water conservation.
On Thursday, October 20, a conference was hosted in Sunnyvale to learn how Japanese companies and Silicon Valley start-ups are partnering to develop technologies and build new businesses in areas ranging from batteries to quantum computing to behavior-shaping software apps, which will make significant contributions to reducing carbon emissions and meeting global climate change goals.
