I wrote this as a comment on other channels already. KDH is a brilliant transfer. Not because he will rip the world apart. But in combination with the Club want to sell Gallagher it gets context. So lets go down the rabbit hole.
Gallagher is valued at */-50mil. If we extent his contract he will demand new wages around 8-9mil per year. Which translate into approx 160k/week. He is an England international with british tax. One of the Clubs Vice Cpt. Still young and almost never injured. Premiere League proven and no transfer fee bound to him. Fair wages imo for what he brings to the table. He would be within the Top10 Earners at Chelsea. Still below the likes of Reece, Cole, Caicedo or Enzo. But in kinda the same bracket.
For those 50mil the club bought Estevao(35mil upfront) plus Paéz(9mil upfront). For the remaing 6mil we got Guiu from Barca. So for selling one Academy Player we bought 3 new players. Incl. 2 Wonderkids with a crazy high potentials. Now KDH comes into the frame. His current wages are 20k/week at Leichester. Even if we triple these he will be at around 60k/week. Thats 100k less then what we would expecting for Gallaghers new wages. 100k/week x 52 x6(KDH contract) = ~30mil in wages saved. Which funny enough is almost exactly his transfer fee to Leichester. So basicly he pays for himself.
Overall for selling Conor the club gets in return: 2 Wonderkids plus 1 young striker who will easily be worth +20mil in 2yrs time. And on top a "like for like replacement" for Gallaghers position. And TBF thats a shitton of value for "just selling" one academy player. Hence why we are so desperate to get Gallagher out of the door.
As Chelsea fans we can hate or love it. But there is clearly a strategy behind these transfers. We bought that army of young players to secure profits when selling them 2yrs later again. My guess would be we keep 3 maybe 4 of them. Depending on their development. I assume Carney, Uguchuckwo, Santos and maybe Angelo will stay longer. The likes of Casedai, Washington, Datro Fofana and all the others are gone soonish. They are "cash injections" when needed. Or "trade material" in case we want to incl. players in transfers.
We will for sure sell academy players worth approx 30mil each summer. That simply covers the long term amortisation for Enzo´s and Caicedo´s insane costly transfers in future financial years. This summer it was time for Omari Hutchinson to forfill that role. Cheloba and Broja will be used for the remaining signings. A left footed CB/FB and another attacker. And the next batch of sellable academy players is already in the making. Next in line are Burstow, Bashir Humphreys and Alfie Gilchrist.

excellent intelligent analysis of the facts. too bad most Chelsea fans don't have the brains or willingness to understand the big picture and the facts of life involved in operating a huge club like Chelsea. Ownership and management are playing 4D chess while most "fans" are gushing adnauseum over their precious academy boys , most of whom will never be good enough other than to sell as pure profit

Sometimes I wonder why some Chelsea fans are not happy with this capture of kdh becuase if you look at the best teams in the league has a left footed midfielder, it’s only Man U and Chelsea that doesn’t have and look at how bizarre they look while playing 😢

I don’t like the idea of buying squad depth when we’ve spent a billion on future potential. If santos and other develop KDH will be a bench guy in 2 years

I don't mind the KDH signing in isolation, but looking at the bigger picture it's a little concerning.
With him joining we have Fernandez, Ugochukwu, Chukwuemeka, Gallagher, Caicedo, Casadei, Lavia, Kellyman, Matos, Santos competing for, what, 2 (maybe 3) positions? I understand you want squad depth but the age profile of the group (minus Gallagher) is very similar, leaving them competing for valuable development minutes when loan spots are limited (and Fernandez and Caicedo will play the majority of games).

I don't understand the obbseession with gallagher..a narrative created by anti chelsea media.. that use his name as someone who works hard amd tbe shining light when the team plays bad..to passively shit on our 200mil midfield duo...but if u check when we win games he doesn't bring much to the team apart from workrate. If poch stuck to the clubs plan of bringing forward talent n not making dead weight club captain, then arguably casedei or santos given a few games could have given exactly what gallagher gave last season...which is jus work rate. Dewsbury Hall is a massive upgrade to gallgher. Just like kellyman is to datro forfana and guiui is to broja considering the way and direction the club wants to go and play... put into place by the best scouts In the world, who only arrived in January after the panic buy summer window that we had signing sterling n Co. When the club had 4 weeks to replace 5 players that left during transfer ban. Don't let this united and liverpool heavy English media confuse the narrative. There is zero crisis at our club

Great content again, so where are we now with PSR? Ins the outs, selling of hotels and training ground. We had a 100mil plus deficit to meet before June. I get we must have met it but curious how much we are in the black now?

Not sure why we've bought dewsbury-hall when we have so many midfielders. He maybe a different profile but couldn't we have used that money to go towards a proper bid for isak??

@@neilcreamer8207 I am aware of that but going out to US straight (&playing across timezones there) after a Euro & (abroad + other tournaments as far away as South America) and then coming back to play a Prem season regardless of a little break doesn't suffice imo. Football is oversaturated now and filling in gaps everywhere inc new tournaments such as Nations Leagues. It doesn't benefit anyone, as people will just get bored of it all! I for one am!

@@LDN_BOX I'm sure you're right. It's clear that people in the game are trying to make as much money as possible, though, and they will push for it. I guess that's why an ambitious club would want a large squad. As for getting bored, I wouldn't miss international football :)

@@neilcreamer8207 The quality of the product suffers too, the football at the euro's has been uninspiring to say the least. However, I'm sure those in charge are the type to try and milk a dead cow, so are likely to be unrelenting when it comes to our beautiful game. Football has long crossed the line into a political tool, which is why even during lockdown they had to keep it going to pacify the masses whilst chucking in 'bend the knee' and rainbow flags everywhere. Add to that VAR which is to the detriment of match going fans and the increase in the cost of going and we've seen the transformation from a working class sport into something headed into being unrecognisable. The game has slowly been sanitised of flair too. As a Chelsea fan, I've seen us win it all - so can be satisfied, it's been completed when I no doubt get bored of it under no doing of my own!

    Hutchinson sold (for peanuts)
Hall and Maatsen sold (creating hole at LB)
Gallagher and Chalobah on the block
All players who the SDs did not sign. As a result, their performance cannot make the SDs look good. As a result, they must be replaced by players who can.
