Good demo Harvey, 'soft clipping' reduces the output at high levels to prevent the speaker output being driven into distortion caused by waveform clipping... Or something like that... Clear a space and connect it to some big speakers ASAP..lol
Yep cheers, read the user manual today, I might just leave the "Soft Clipping "switch on all the time.Trying to clear a load of stuff in there next week, so short of space, lol. ps. When I first connected the speakers I thought that either the speakers were duff or the amp as you cannot hear any normal hiss from the speakers when the volume is turned up even on near maximum volume with no signal connected of course, lol.
@@harveysvintageaudio That sounds promising then.. My 3150 is also very quiet, just a slight even hiss when phono input is selected.. Could be a good idea to check the DC offset etc before plugging in some decent speakers, sure you know that already cos you DO know what you're doing..lol
HI Matt bro, it's only a test setup, cheap speaker cable, very cheap in fact, and a pair of JVC speakers I found in the street, lol. I always use Pink Floyd on testing, great music.
Those JVC speakers always amaze!
Me too, you should have heard them in reality without all the YT compression etc. and cheap crappy cable, lol.

@@raycooper-i3m I just might do that when I repair the side panel, yep it's easy got the service manual for it.
How are you getting away with playing that on here! 😂
I know that Roger Waters saw one of my vids on the A77's, who knows.
Wow! Brother Harvey, don't change one wire on this set-up. Pink Floyd never sounded better!

@@harveysvintageaudio Sounds great, even on TH-cam
@@5thcomm Yep, it's really hard to fully appreciate the sound through YT as it's all compressed, in reality it is REALLY great, lol.
What can I tell you.. It sounds very nice mate.
Thank you.
It sounds as good as my Polk Audio speakers allow. LOL
@@zizendorf Lol.
