- Vigan, the only World Heritage City in the Philippines, and is the sole representative of our country for the New 7 Wonders cities of the world. Inscribed in the list of UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES AND MONUMENTS because it represents a unique fusion of Asian building design and construction with European architecture and planning. Vigan is an exceptionally intact and well preserved example of a a European trading town in East and South- East Asia.
A city with rich culture and heritage that was inherited from their forefathers and is continuously being preserved until today. This video not only shows the scenic views from Vigan but also their way of life, traditions and most especially the people who builds the city.
Let us help Vigan be known as the New 7 wonders cities of the world and show how beautiful our country is. Together, we Filipinos can make it!

I like the flashes of the architectural designs of the buildings.... I wish they show more about the charms of Vigan, I mean don't get me wrong, I like the beautiful colors of the dress, but I want to see more of the flavor of the Spanish port.
Vigan is really beautiful throughout times. Indeed its amazing architecture houses makes gives a unique fusion of Asian building and European architecture.

I tried Vigan style empanadas in Vigan and they are delicious. Unfortunately you cant find any Filipino restaurants in the US that make Vigan Style empanadas
Its true sana po feature more about the palce in itself hindi po yung mga models, kasi ang model dapat po yun city in itself.

But the provincial and city government must sustain its being a wonder city by continuously providing the best amenities for its local and foreign tourists like public clean, rest rooms and more popular eateries like starbucks and the like and also pursue and fast track conversion its airport for those who cant withstand the rigors of a long, tiring land trips. Kudos and more power to all those involved in making the city a pride heritage, not only of the ilocanos but the Filipinos, in general.
I am very proud to live in this beautiful city :)

Does anybody know roughly when in the year they hold festivals like the ones displayed on the video? costume parades, dancing on the streets, that sort of thing? I would very much appreciate any information.
Vigan Longganisa Festival is held every January 20+ whereas the Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts is held in May. It's on the first week, I think.

There are a lot of memorable stuff you'll experience when you visit Vigan, most especially when you come around at those times. But anyway, on the last week of October, there is a "Raniag festival"/ If I'm not mistaken, it's lantern festival where there are lantern parades. :) Hope you enjoy!

Nag focus masyado sa mga tao at costume yung video. Sana sa heritage houses, old parks and food. Hindi na showcase yung important parts.

The video failed to highlight the unique AUTHENTIC character of Vigan, the deep Spanish colonial past and unique Filipino sights, sounds, arts, etc. What makes it unique than Quito or Barcelona? These two have more Spanish culture.

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring. i'm probably going to get bashed by people who are blinded by fanfare, but if they really want to market the city we need to have a more exciting feature than this. too much pretentiousness with the music and not enough interesting things happening in the first half. doesn't get interesting until the last minute but by then I've been disinterested because of the out of place soundtrack.
