    Hi , to introduce myself , first & foremost my name is Peter, i am a automotive technician and i own my own repair business , i have been doing automotive repair since i was 16 and i am 39 now , i have watched some of your videos back in 2020 but i forgot your channel name and i am so glad i finally found your youtube channel again because i can enjoy watching your videos and your work, what dry ice cleaning does is amazing, i live in Masaschusetts on the east coast and this is the salt belt , we don't have any companies that do dry ice cleaning therapy for vehicles and i just bought a 2014 ford explorer limited a year ago and i plan to clean everything up the best i can and paint a coat of por-15 on the undercarriage of my truck. Sorry for the long comment , i look forward to your next videos!

    Dry ice cleaning is revolutionary! It's eco-friendly, efficient, and leaves no mess. Incredible to watch in action. Highly recommended!

    In the rust belt, cars treated with undercoat rust like crazy and the ones that had a major oil leak that coated the undercarriage are great. Undercoat loosened and allows moisture and salts to be trapped and corrode.

    Having been on the internet since it was a thing, not much blows me away, this tho, this is next level, how is it you can get so deep without taking the original paint ?? some of those bits look almost factory fresh afterwards, amazing......

    • @makpsv
      @makpsv ปีที่แล้ว

      Because they come with a thick protective wax layer from the factory that prevents rust.
      What they did in the video is remove this thick layer of protective wax.
      It looks good for a bit, but now it will rust faster since the little thin layer of whatever they applied afterwards is no where near as good as the factory one. 😢

    I've seen a zillion of videos of undersides of cars being dry ice blasted, and still have to understand if the procedure only removes grease, dirt, rust etc., or can cause damages to the part, such as peeling off paint, or not.

    • @Jack2421992
      @Jack2421992 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It would not have an effect on clear coats as much as grime because they are still loose/dissolvable/viscous. But for obvious case, try not to aim at body painted surfaces. It's okay to hit painted parts like lower arms and such, those can be resprayed and clear coated again if the dry ice blast chipped the paint off (but unlikely that would happen)

    • @IAMDetailing
      @IAMDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Great response Jack!
      We have a lot of control over the machine. We have to dial settings down to be more gentle. Its important to have a skilled detailer with the dry ice machine because it can be dangerous in the wrong hands

      @@vocabulairedunbastoss3533 Slow your roll, keyboard warrior. Do you know how many comments we get a day? Do you know how many times I've answered the same question OVER AND OVER? You're making huge assumptions about things you think you know, picking a random comment from a month ago to attack, and then trying to call us out for being unprofessional, when you just responded in the way you did?
      I'm going to assume I know what you're referring to, because you made NO REFERENCE to your actual question that you wanted answered... We're quite aware that we are removing the undercoating. In fact, we're specifically asked to remove it in pretty much every case of these videos. I'm going to make another assumption by your attitude and your profile name, that you're in France. You see, we're here in Southern California, with some of the most temperate climate in the whole entire world. The cars we work on live in pristine garages. They live in the best temperatures. They never see snow. They rarely see rain. We don't have the risk of rust that you might have.
      Why you're making such a big deal about what someone else wants to do with their car and throwing shade at us for the quality of our work that we produce because I didn't take the time to answer the same question I've literally answered hundreds of times, is beyond me.
      Now, I'll give you the copy-paste answer:
      Our clients are very knowledgeable and know full well what theyre asking for. After we remove the undercoating, we apply a protective wax to the most sensitive parts of the car, always. If the car is leaving the southern california area, we will reapply, or recommend they reapply, factory-spec cosmoline and refresh what has been removed.
      Next time, might I suggest you remember that there's a human being on the other side of this comment and act like you would in person, like a respectful human being. Maybe then you would have a better chance at having your needs answered...

      @@IAMDetailing lol, I totally understand how frustrating it must be answering dumb and rude questions. Living in Scotland, we have severe rust issues too, This looks like an amazing process,and would make a good start up business around here, as nobody seems to do it in my area. It looks like a great alternative to grit or vapour blasting,and would not leave any gritty residue in bearings and driveshafts etc. obviously, the underside of the car will need protective coatings re- applied, just as they were from the factory. Thanks for sharing the process with us, it’s always good to learn of new technologies! Ps- working on a freshly cleaned car like this is a mechanics wet dream!🤣🤣👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I’d be curious this vs. a heated pressure washer with a cleaning agent in it. Cause I’m betting costs are drastically different, and uses far more broad. It would suck hardcore to be THAT wet and dirty doing the underside of a car yikes.
    Depends on needs I guess. Live in Texas or California where you can’t afford to buy a house, and have an old car you obsess over vs Midwest where you likely have equipment or a house and shop that the high temp pressure washer has greater use.

      Almost anything can be used with the blaster, just golden rule of not using it on painted bodywork. Also obviously not for interior haha. Don't shoot one spot too long as it'll condense and that spot. You just want to shoot grime off. But I don't think there's a very adverse affect when shooting at one spot too long. I wouldn't wanna find out anyway, at least on customers cars.

      It’s depend on each machine, because some of them can’t do same things like the others.
      With our dry ice cleaning machine we can do almost everything inside/outside including exterior paint, leather/fabric surface or carpet, it's highly customizable. We can dial the machine back to be quite gentle, but it has to be a skilled user, regardless.
      One thing that we can’t hit is any type of foam, super easy to damage it.
