I have had a T-Cross black pack se for 4 years now have just purchased a new r-line t-cross DSG. The new one is soft plastic dash board top middle & bottom. They both are very solid though & well screwed together. Yes I totally get its plastic & not leather, but to be honest I don't want dead animal skin in my car. Cloth material? not for me it collects dust & stains. Whilst the old t-cross was scratchy plastic on the dash & door cards to be fair I never touched the dash so I just didn't suffer at all. I did wipe it down every now & again but to be honest that's all & it looks as good today as it did when it was brand new. I did test drive a Toyota Yaris cross, the side panels were cloth coated but so flimsy & thin they buckled when I put any weight on them at all. That does not happen in a T-Cross. The middle console on the Toyota moves if you try to wobble it. On the t-cross it stays put. All in All the T-cross is built to a price. if it was leather or cloth I would not touch it in the first place, but even if I wanted to it would be a lot more expensive so I would just go buy the Audi Q2. If you go back to the original VW beetle or the campervan the insides were coloured metal & vinyl cardboard door cards with cheap air-cooled engines but with the build quality of a tank. The T-cross seems to me to be a modern version of exactly that. Not the best materials, but built solid with solid engines that will go on for a good old time & still look OK when they are 10-15 years old. if I want expensive finishes ill go Audi. If I want a traditional "peoples wagon" for getting the masses around cheaply and efficiently & if I want my car to have a little soul then ill stay VW.
Vw keeps claiming themselves as a premium brand and have inflated their prices as such , but their interior is a joke , what are they playing at ? Basic is an understatment
I think the former version was nice, too. I like the practicality and the safety of this car. It offers comfort and economy for a medium range price. The small size makes it a perfect car for urbanites.
Good review. I’ve had a TCross since January 2023. It’s great to drive but VW aren’t giving what you pay for - just as you say, the interior is cheap and build quality doesn’t match the price. It looks like the facelift isn’t much better. A pity - lost opportunity.
I think it’s a lovely car but I agree they need to add soft touch or just nicer feeling plastic. My mom has the polo mk6 and that doesn’t have handles, my dads mk4 polo 9n has soft damped handles and that’s a 2005 car 😂 I’m a big fanboy of vw but would it really cost much more to make these parts especially if they make them already for other models. But I like their new design for the T cross I love this new colour too.
I will never understand that obsession (I'm not talking about you) with "soft touch" in the cars, mainly soft touch materials in the dashboard. I never touch the dashboard of my car and, I beg your pardon, this obsession mostly comes from the stupid car press who takes this "soft touch" nonsense as a quality measure. When I drive my car, the dashboard is absolutely the least thing I want or I have to touch. And there is absolutely not a single advantage having soft touch.
A style s ručnim mjenjačem košta oko 24500 eura, nikako 32.000.
Don’t understand why many people hate plastic interiors? Just because it doesn't look high-end enough? I like plastic, it's neat and easy to care for, unlike fabric which is hard to clean when it gets dirty.
I guess some people here measure interior quality by the fact whether there is marble used or not. Plastic is used since I can remember and I am over 50.
This is under £24k for a small VW SUV. While the interior plastic are awful, its still a well engineered car with Golf hardware underneath, which goes a long way to making it a good car, thats stable at high speeds and will likely age well and hold its value. A Renault Capture might have a nicer interior but they dont hold a candle to a VW for driving dynamics, stability or refinement.
NOT the Golf.. Im working for VW and they have different Platforms.. the Golf is the entry car for the regular MQB while the Polo and so is the T Cross are based on the MQB-A0 Platform.. keep your clown emote thats embarassing.. These are 2 seperate and different Platforms inform yourself lol@@Olliebobalong
20:00 Correct me if I'm wrong, but on the right side of the list it says that there are no options in the car. So the asking price is what it's saying. Horrible.
I personally do not like the new vw t cross with reason there is no longer a built in touch screen in the dash board the previous vw t cross has a built in touch screen which i 8 inches why they now put the touch screen above the dash board looks ugly😩
VW are nice to see, only the short warranty period and bad quality make the maintain costs outrageous. Toyota/mazda/kia/hyundai and even dacia do it a lot better.
Yes, we know its going to cost them. But by cheapening out now, all this conspicuous cost cutting is liable to have the opposite effect. Especially when the competition is increasing in quality. Nobody's going to pay the same for less.
This one is far from perfect -- I hope the have the blackout option -- but thank God they got rid of those horrific fake exhausts. I could never buy a car with those things.. I completely agree with the cost cutting. If that's not bad enough its all so conspicuous with the raw plastic. You'd think they'd have sense to at least cover it with a layer of cloth. That's where the Koreans are head and shoulder ahead of the Germans. They spend a lot more time texturing and covering those less expensive interior plastic fixtures.
Actually better. Also cheaper if broken that digital handbrake is just aweful and can destroy your brake disc and pads when left wet and parked for some weeks..
@@TheOfficialDuBsTeC But do you intend to buy a 2024 car or a '90s one? All parts (LED, touch screen media, ACC, ABS, airbags, automatic gear) are more expensive than the old-gen tech since it's "new" tech.
Actually Touch Screens are cheaper if you can get rid of many single part buttons to produce. What has the rest though to do with a manual Handbrake? Its more reliable and most MQB-A0 cars use that as its also cheaper to produce and shrink prices part by part.@@cesarsfalcao
This is simply a bad and very subjective review. Just look at 17:16. The reviewers point is how outdated the infotainment is because it is slow!? Yet, everything appears to respond very snappy. Regarding the booting time, dear reviewer, turn off your phone and on again and tell us how long it needed to boot up.
I review cars for 8 years and I am IT engineer, for modern standards this is slow. My Tesla has an outdated Intel Atom CPU and it’s instant boot and snappy movement on map. So I am very objective when sharing criticism as I know VAG infotainment which often freezes and gets buggy or laggy good example is Golf 8. This is short demo but I am talking from experience.

You can’t adjust the front middle armrest height, and radio antena isn’t ‘shark’ but simple wire. Why ?! All those things cost nothing.
You're looking at the bottom of the range cheap car, what do you expect? Porsche quality? this is not even the top range of the t-cross, it's literally the bottom of the bottom of the mini SUV budget car.. R-line or whatever it's called these days is a little better, but still this is a crossover between a cheap polo and a SUV. You can't expect Porsche quality from it. It's like looking at apples and demanding them to be oranges.

Yes we have a Tiguan but it will be our last VW because of this there are other brands that are much bettter
