I idolize you in breeding ornamental fishes, specially breeding guppy. Before i just bought mollies for pet purposes only but now i have many strains of guppy. I idolize you but i don't have enough confidence to vlog HEHE. So I convinced my dad to try vlogging, his content is about repairing, D.I.Y's , and many more contents about electronic appliances. I just wanted to ask you to support my dads TH-cam channel. The channels name is JamTech thankyou so much idol! Looking forward to your support!!!

Catfish are a tricky type to grow. I grow hoplo catfish. That's available in any good swampy pond over here. I don't breed them yet. They are fun to watch in a aquarium. I remember you visiting a paddy field where they also did catfish farming. If you can get the formula of amount of catfish per square feet or meters per gallon. They nothing can stop you from breeding and farming them.

In my experience of breeding guppies and growing them out, in groups they will stay small. Even the females. One (usually male) will develop fast. But when he is removed and grows out separately, one of the others will begin to grow faster. And when it is removed, this continues for the remaining in this manner. When removed, females will grow faster, even when kept in a group. But there will always be a few ambiguous fish, who have what looks like an pelvic fin like a female, but it is a little pointy. And the body shape of this fish is more like a male and is more skinny. I always removed those fish, because I noticed the females were still getting pregnant! And then I did some research and found out this is actually a male fish, called a ‘sneaker male’ because he suppresses his colours, so he can sneak into the groups and impregnate females without the dominant male noticing and chasing him off. But after a while, his anal fin always develops into a proper gonopodium (the males organ in live-bearing fish,) and his body will always develop into the typical male guppy shape, even if he suppresses his colours, eventually. So I tended to use my large tank to grow out females and small, separate tanks to keep and grow out each male on his own. The secret is to use daily fresh and aged water changes to grow them as fast as possible. It is time-consuming but worth it and I was making good pocket-money as a teenager from it. There was a lot of demand for fancy guppy strains, as fish-keeping was very popular in the Asian country that I was living in. It had been a leading Asian breeding country in the 70s and 80s, for ornamental fish, before other countries in the region began to take over in the late 90s and 00s. A lot of former breeders began to come back into the hobby for a while, before guppy-keeping began to experience a lull again. For those interested in this hobby, I’d say not to let these lulls dissuade you. Just don’t produce on a large scale, to avoid producing more than you can easily sell. When you experience high demand again, only then begin to pump up your production. These highs and lows are always part of the industry. Food production species, however are always highly in demand, so I would personally focus this production, while having ornamental species production as your side-line.
