    Hi Jen!! Very nice video. My daughter keeps saying, what are you going to do there? I said, what do I do at home? I love being outside, going for a walk. I love to shop and talk to people. I love not having a lot of people around me all the time (NYC). I am going to be fine. She said, do they have book clubs, poetry and things like that. I told her, I'm sure if she looked, she could find that kind of thing. What a lot of people don't realize is that we don't really do that much except go to work here in NYC. Retirement...here I come.

    I like to go on day trips so the central location of Deleware is great. I get bored easily, but after living close to DC I realized that I stay in the house mostly too. Trying to figure out parking and traffic is enough to keep me inside.

      This is fair and accurate. I spent 20 years working in the banking industry and lived in Brandywine Hundred. And could be in New York or DC in a few hours via Amtrak. If it wasn't so expensive where I lived I'd go back in a heartbeat.

    I’m from Middletown, Delaware. Now living in Miami, Florida. Delaware it’s a cute town to raise kids, good school districts, you have access to many cities. I was there from 4-21 years old. Don’t regret leaving. If you’re young and want city life, the night life don’t move there.
    But it’s a small state! You literally know everyone! 😂😂😂

      DE has a small airport but it limited. PHL airport is literally 30min away, so I’m not sure what the issue is with that. They just opened a giant Asian market out of the old Toys R Us in Christiana

    I am moving to DE next month and I REALLY want chickens!! But I see that there are SO many restrictions! We are trying to find a home in between Dover and Seaford. Any suggestions for chicken- friendly communities? (That don’t require 5 acres of land!)

    • @JenniferAllan.realtor
      @JenniferAllan.realtor  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome!! Are you looking to purchase or rent? If renting you’ll need to check with the landlord to make sure it’s okay with them. Most communities do not allow chickens. You’ll need to find a home without an HOA. The more rural areas like Felton, Harrington, seaford, bridgeville will most likely be the areas to look at. If you aren’t already working with a realtor, I would love to help you if you are looking to purchase!

  • @bkeen7013

    If you’re young and single, Delaware is not for you. If you have young kids, it’s ok but the public schools in Delaware are horrible (one of the reasons for the low property taxes). I’d come here if you’re planning on retiring and doing nothing. Delaware is great for that, especially as the cost of living in Delaware is cheap.
