This will be part of my Silent Running series where I run an ultra-marathon race and film it as an ode to the runners that toe the line, the landscapes and beauty of the trails we pass through.
The race was the UTS 50K which I did earlier this year. The Ultra-Trail Snowdonia 50K is a 50 kilometer mountain race in North Wales and part of the UTMB World Series.

Phenomenal video. You've captured each steep, technical, and boggy bit of the course, from some great angles. My personal favourite is the pan shot of mynydd mawr at 3:48. You get to see the full extent of the climb from bottom to top. I am disappointed the y lliwedd climb has been taken out the race. I thought it made the race that little bit more unique to many other mountain 50ks.
Also love this idea of running every kilometre to film the race. You're kind of running to film, rather than racing and filming.

It's always a good day when a new Kelp and Fern ultra film appears. Inspiring stuff and a great tribute to the participants. The cloud drifting across from the left at just before the 13 minute mark is a thing of beauty.

Loved it. Definitely my favourite UTS 50 coverage / video I've seen yet. Kind of disappointed that they've removed the Y Lliwedd section from UTS 50 for next year though. That scramble was my favourite part when doing a bit of a recce here earlier this year. I was looking forward to doing it again.Had a good laugh at the chap around 5:03 enjoying the views 😂

The Olympus or the Fimi?
Olympus em5.3 for this one, small but versatile.
I'm doing UTS165 next year. Terrain looks like it has quite a lot of boggy sections. Any views on waterproof socks anyone?
Tbh I'm not sure many people bother. I'm doing the 100k and will have a spare pair of socks (and shoes) with my drop bag if needed. Not sure how effective waterproof socks can be when you step into a deep bog.
