I absolutely hate amiibo packaging because I don’t want to destroy the box to open the figure. I often take an unboxing knife to cut the bottom, left, and right sides of the amiibo box and slide the figure out with the plastic carrying it. This is how I preserve the box.
Transformers are great because they have the "real" box design that allows it to be intact.

you forgot the best toy packaging, Japanese Bandai toy packaging (mainly their DX line of toys), basically just a cardboard box with fancy artwork outside, no plastic cover or what soever, and is held inside an egg-carton-like tray, really enjoy that kind of packaging cos you don't have to worry about ruining the aesthetic of the box :D
Im sorry if this sounds weird, but your videos and voice are just very chill to me in a sort of way. Like I could just chill out while watching one of your videos, but I could still understand the facts and opinions you were trying to convey. One of my favorite channels now, keep it up!

btw, there are people who collect hot wheels and to preserve the packaging, they use water or some special liquid for the plastic to come out easier
I know this is out of topic, But I never cared about the Packaging of Hot wheels cars, Its just looks kinda bland XD,

i really hate it when i have to ruin the packaging too, especially when the box is amazing.
The sonic tomy line had great boxes with flaps but jakks and jazewares are mostly cardboard with plastic bubble🤦♂️
Recently I bought a carded Transformers figure from a store, I picked it up by the plastic bubble and the card back nearly fell off!
It was hanging on by a few points of glue, but it really freaked me out
I only keep them in boxes if I'm planning to get the things out of my life.
It was hard ripping open all my tloz amiibos

I collect the Naruto action figures and the ones from Japan have much nicer packaging. They use the box type packaging. I got a Sasuke, a Hinata and a Temari figure that had a very detailed box

Why don’t you just cut the edges of the bubble instead of the cardboard. Specifically, the bottom portion and a bit of the sides. From there, you can remove the tray and put it back without it looking like you even opened it. I’ve done this before on my Clone Wars and ROTS figures and it works wonders.
Sure, it may not look like you opened it if you do that, but I was never a fan of that method because it's a permanent change to the packaging. Even if it's preserving the cardboard, you're still destroying the box somewhat.
@@niftydrifter yeah, but it’s one of the only clean ways of opening that style of packaging.
Also I agree that boxes are better for the ability to preserve them, but I still prefer cards because there’s something collectible about them. Also using a box for most figures could be too much packaging and could be a waste.
