@StoneHands25 those were just the bladeshow variants that's why they were spiced up. These are now there production base model. They will release them in many variants like they did with the malibu.
Yeah, that was different for a disassembly. I’ve run into 1 or 2 times before in the over 1000 knives I’ve handled. It is very rare indeed. Good to know if you want to disassemble it.
My TR-3 came out of the box with bad lock stick. (5:57) You briefly mentioned that this is a typical Pro-Tech button lock issue. Can I expect my lock stick issue to resolve itself after breaking in the action some?
Awesome knife. I thought the action was pretty dang good or if the box, but i do enjoy seeing the break down and all. I am curious about why strop the blade before breaking it down, without cutting with it at all afterwards, though.
I strop to get a feel for the edge angle more. Sometimes I strop and cut but I strop and never cut, too. No reason really. I replace the caged beatings with Skiffs so I can take away the edge from the thumb studs.
On the Mordax, mine came out but it seems pretty normal for Protech with super tight tolerances. Unless you need to fix something else, I’d leave it in like I did this TR-3. If you were going to polish the aluminum, etc. then a punch will likely work. I’d cover the punch or use hard plastic one.
I have a Pro-Tech BT2731 Tarzuola ATCCF Auto Black handle, MOP Button "Dark Matter" carbon fiber inlay, Stone-wash MagnaCut blade, 3D Ti Clip if you are interested. New in box.
It does by the end of the video in the wrap up section, that stick is gone… which is typical for Pro-Techs in my experiences. Thank you again for the heads up!!
I really enjoy watching you rebuilding and modding, keep it coming!
Thanks, will do! Appreciate you watching, too!! 🤙🤓
I got a blasted TR3 and the Swat. I'm gonna have to get this manual in the future.
Yeah, it’s great but I think I like your idea. I wonder if this one could be modded.
I really like Pro-Tech
They make really good knives!
Love it!
Thank you for watching. Yeah, I really like this knife. Skiffs did. Not hurt either.
Cheers!
🤙✌️👍👊🤓
The Blade Show version looked so much better. I'm hoping for more variants in the future and with Magnacut.
Yes, I agree, but at least at $225, it is more bearable.
The one that they showed with the compound grind is now this?

Right! 🫡👍
I have yet to add a Pro-Tech to the stable but this looks like one I can't resist.
And it’s at a decent prices, too.
Interesting first knife I saw with hex screws!

Chris Reeve knives too. Or at least my small inkosi
Yes, Chris Reeve Knives on the Umnumzaan, Large Sebenza, and the Rick Hinderer knives in various places (i.e. Project, XM-18, Eqlipse).

Most of the time, yes. I simply opened and closed this for a good hour. Also, you could put Skiff caged bearings in, too.

I have a mordax and the pivot on mine is stuck in there just like this. Was wondering if that was normal from protech or not.

Congrats. Sounds like you are enjoying it. It’s not one I’d like to borrow for a review at this time. Thank you for offering it me to borrow.
Glad you picked one up 🙌 hope it smooths out for ya
