From Memphis. I know how good Gus's can be. Went to Gus's in Houston and ordered $100 dollars worth of chicken and sides to go. Chicken was not fresh. Chicken was not hot. Quality was like eating 5 day old shoe leather. Called the manager who promised to refund my money. Never happened, and I will never return. So sad.
I like restaurants where you can see what they are doing in the kitchen. We have been wanting to try Gus's Fried Chicken. So I was glad to see that you have a review on it. The chicken really looked good! Wow! The mac and cheese did look cheesy. Looking forward to trying it out!
As of today, I think Gus has the best chicken in the country. If there is something better, I would like to know who has it. Before Gus, KFC and Bojangles were all I knew. So, I'd imagine there are some better chicken joints out there and I would love to try them.

Love your reviews. I was completely unimpressed. If a Lee's or Bojangles was within a mile of that place, I would never set foot in there again. I could taste the cooking oil. I would rather drive to Shelbyville for Bojangles than go back to Gus's.
The chicken looks good I might give it a shot soon. I pass by there all the time. But I don't eat at alot of fast food chains. But if took time to do a honest review I will give it a honest try . Good review as always.

@goodallscountrykitchen To me the chicken wasn't bad definitely fresh but nothing special to me. The baked beens were okay. The mac and cheese was very cheesy just wished it had more seasoning on it. Not bad food though! Was just okay

@@615bandup2 I heard the same thing 10-15 years ago. I guess Memphis being so close to the Mississippi state line its just natural to get confused. I laugh all the time because if you read Gus's menu it has the history.

Yes, it’s a very solid place. I wish tgr chicken was a little spicier hot but it’s still really good.
