Todd and Sheila, let me give you a this disclaimer before I comment. I am a Romans 8:28 Christian by choice. 😂. My dad used to say “It all comes out in the wash!” because he just didn’t know Romans 8:28.
Here goes: 1) all the videos you guys did in the beginning was the foundation for the community you’ve built and enjoy. I remember the excitement I needed at the time to just watch your videos. People were stuck at home and got to travel vicariously with you guys.
2) You didn’t know ahead what was taking place as God was letting you fill your knowledge and experience bank by seeing so many places that first year.
3) My life’s verse is Hebrews 11:6. You are knocking the socks off God by stepping out and touching a world you really didn’t know existed. Your faith walk is pleasing to Him and you guys need to continue to move forward in faith to see where God leads you and how many lives will be touched by these adventures.
4) I’m an old retired pastor your parents age. But I’m proud of you both. I feel like I’ve known you for years through these videos. Thank you for taking these steps and sharing them with us old geezers that cannot do it ourselves.

Been full-time for just under 3 years. The best part for us has been more visiting family and friends than community. I often tell people about this lifestyle and how it has allowed us to spend more quality time with family. Not just the occasional birthday party or holiday. Most of the time, I start to wonder if they want us to leave.
My wife is semi-introverted and it takes her much longer to interact. Me, I have heen told i have never met a stanger. So we struggle with that. Tried the Campground Host and met great lime minded people there. Just none who were full-time travelers.
Still would not change a thing. Both our parents set out to do this and never made it. Do it while you can and see what this great country has to offer.
The first video I watched was the one where Todd forgot to turn the propane on. Been watching ever since.
Can't wait to see the HDT hooked up to that new trailer at the rv show!

Moryde independent suspension is not without their problems. Alignment issues that just tear up tires. The rubber torsion springs do break, and should be replaced periodically $
I switched to the Roadmaster independent slipper springs two years ago and I love them. No issues whatsoever. (So far)
You can get by with the oem leaf springs, if you replace them every two years. Use the thick shackles with wet bolts, and grease the crap out of em.
If you do the recommended maintenance you would have any problems. We have the IS and have the alignment and maintenance done every year.
Great video. I wish I had known how much my wife hates camp/gamping before I had spent $72K on a truck and $60K on a travel trailer. Live and learn. Safe travels in 2024.
We learned the hard way, we stared on a M/C and a sissy bar then moved up. we now have 2000 Newmar Mountain aire, 40.
Funny you should mention it... a couple weeks ago I went back and rewatched the video of the freezing night. 😂 I've been a faithful follower since. If only I had an rv! I so enjoy living vicariously through all of you. God bless and safe travels. ❤
People have come to the huddles who don't have RVs and just stay nearby in a hotel or in a cabin if available. The events are a blast.
It was nice meeting you both at the Tampa RV show Wednesday. Sheila, my wife Dianne really enjoyed your brief chat about sharing faith despite the headwinds. To change the subject, the “propane” incident was hilarious and was the video that hooked me as a subscriber. I remembered it recently as my furnace kicked on during our first winter trip! Enjoy that new rig and stay true to your beliefs!

We were like you, but since we started a couple of years later, we did do a lot of your must haves since we had you and other TH-cam friends that helped us make those decisions early on. 🙂
We are currently part timers and agree with everything you said except community. Our community is us two and the two dogs. We don’t have a community here. We want to see what we want to see see not chase a community.

The part leaving the home community and the small circle and exploding into travel and seeing places is a complete culture and life change for us.
I’m excited, it will probably take me a while to adjust to the RV community.

I can find a way to have fun in a cardboard box given the time.
The anticipation is driving me nuts. In the next few months the house and land sells. We will order the fifth well fully loaded, solar, generator ( you didn’t mention that ) independent suspension, disc brakes, residential fridge etc……. King size bed. I prefer a queen but she wants the king. While waiting for the build of the rig we will stay in our Class C. We can easily handle that for a few months. Probably take in a long cruise while we are at it. We are seasoned cruisers.

All the things your listing is the reason that I bought a well-built older Monaco dynasty class a diesel pusher. Was already built with all the upgrades your listing and I don’t have any of the trailer problems that you guys have to deal with I have added 4 200 amp hour lithium batteries and a Victron multi +2 inverter charger.

Interesting list and a reminder to do your research, watch lots of videos but also that even if you miss something you should have done don’t miss out on the adventures by endlessly waiting to figure everything out. At some point buy your rig and get out there.

You have given me some things to think about regarding relationships even though my RV life is different. I am not full time and I do not tow my trailer. My trailer sits on a lot in a private campground of 1200 other lots. It is my safe place, my retreat place, and it takes me 1 1/2 hours to get there at the foothills of a mountain range. There are activities on the weekends and opportunities for community meals and sometimes live music. I usually don’t participate because I’m retreating but there is that feeling of missing out on relating with the community around me.

This is a great video! So many points you don’t often hear about! So much to consider.
Even as part-timers we notice how our world is expanded so much more than folks from home who don’t get out and go. It’s wild. RVing will change your perspective for sure!

What a great video! Unlike Todd, we need a king size bed. We have two small dogs, (10lbs ea), that love to sleep on the bed with us. They take up more room than us when they spread out.😂 Be safe!

I hear you on you truck! I ordered my RM 3500 Limited HO Diesel in late 2021. I picked it up in Jan of 2022 and I only got $1500 off since I ordered it with everything but the engine heater on it.

We spent a year on research (2020). Drove 500 miles to see the one we bought as there was no KZ dealer in Nevada. Just repeat what you did slower. When purached, we had installed 2 lithiums, a second solar panel and the generator. Ours came with duel heat pump AC and duel pane windows and a dishwasher. We were having our IS installed and meet you there.
Interstate highways are terrible. Last 2 years we’ve taken 3-4 month trips over 10,000 miles each year and we have not driven even 1 mile on the interstate. Secondary roads are in much better condition and a lot less traffic. Granted we normally drive 60-65mph , we have an F250 and a 25ft trailer. The views are much better seeing America via secondary roads.
I enjoy you and your videos SO MUCH! I get so much help from all your stuff. We are in year 2 of our current TT. We're 30+ years into camping, started out in a tent, then had a 'strange' pop-up J/Trax 1202. We love the room, amenities (bathroom), sitting area in the new rig . . . BUT, the refrigerator!!! It does NOT run on propane, only 12V. (We feel like the dealer did a bait and switch 😠) We do mostly boon-docking in the Adirondack Mountains. I'm following your suggestions on lithium batteries and we want to add more solar. My husband is researching how/what to switch the charger out to so we are compatible with lithium.
Good tips. For your followers: I don't full time RV, but work 2 many hrs back here. Used to travel 280+ days/yr for decades for work. Met people (customers & more) all over North America. Seen tons of country. Visited many tourist destinations on my time off. Have had my RV as a seasonal at a small 50 site camp ground for past 13 yrs. Great friends with other seasonal campers. Also take it out. Made my 1st huddle in 2023. Best time ever. I will agree with your statement of meeting people. Get out and do it, even if only part time. That it better than having the right RV (but it helps). See ya all on the road in 2024.
Remember when you drove all over the country in a short time? By going slowly you don’t put so many miles on your trailer - maybe your suspension would have lasted longer.

I definitely support going to a super RV show! We went to the Tampa one in Jan just to walk through all the models we were interested in since local dealers don’t always have what we were looking for. It’s a great way to see one after another. Once again, another great video of some great topics.
We enjoyed this video. We are also now 4 years into full time. We just downsized from our 43' Momentum to a truck camper. Yep. We are crazy. 😂

We agree with your first one! Yes, we enjoy our 395ms-r as well but we were not aware of the frame flex, that we are now dealing with. We also really wish we had a little more storage under the rig with a slide tray. We will definitely be looking around at the Tampa show (see you there) for possibilities if the repairs are not done well in April.
We really wished we would have learned video editing, early on. We had settled with Facebook and Instagram but now we are officially on TH-cam (still learning Filmora though).
Lithium, solar, MORryde independent suspension/disc brakes, GEN-Y pin box, very early on were big game changers for us. We have reconsidered a GEN-Y goose neck pin box though since the early days. It just made more sense to us to invest in the rig/truck early on as full-timers. This is probably why we haven’t been able to attend a Huddle but hopefully along with our friends, Our Road Less Traveled and Roaming Dad, we can consider coming to one.
To end, meeting new people…and their dogs, this has been our favorite part of RVing.
