Those Who Can't Do, Teach?

  • I hear this quite often. Usually, from people who can't do or teach. Absolutely, there are lower level instructors out there who are new and trying to figure it out. They are not going to be at the highest level of skill in application or instruction. We've all been there.
Moving with the people I trained under, skill was absolutely required. The secret to becoming a better martial artist is actually in the teaching of it. Each and every time you help someone else understand something, you understand it more fully yourself.
I always welcome comments that are focused on the content and add to the debate in a positive way. You don't have to agree with me, but you do need to keep it civil. Keyboard warriors will get humiliated or just deleted.

I think it's more about adding the knowledge gained from the arts to the individual. Good talking point. I'll see if I can get something up that explores this idea further.
