The French language is alive. It may not be in the French Academy's dictionary, but many words are not in this dictionary. tristitude has made its way onto the wiktionary, it's an absurd neologism but that has made its way into certain articles. but yes, except for this sound, it's not really used in everyday language.
@@Zebrax-kq4gg For sure words that become common had to be add in dictionaries. I don't know if Oldelaf was the first to use this word or not, but yes it may be used more and more... As for the Academy dictionary, nobody cares because nobody uses it 😁
FYI, when Oldelaf sings "C'est un peu de détresse dans le creux de nos voix", he imitates the voice of Claude François (the one who performed the original version of [ I did it ] My Way) who was a very famous french singer, really iconic, back in 60's/70's. His voice was particular, really often imitated in many funny ways. Like here. 3:04
The word "tristitude" is an invented word by Oldelaf, it's a contraction of sad ("triste" in French) and attitude so if we transfer this logic in english it would be something like "sadditude"
Thanks to the one who recommended these one ! C'est une pépite... vive Oldelaf ! You should listen "Le Café" and "La peine de mort" from him. The videoclips are wonderfull !
Thank you to have followed this suggestion ! I really enjoy rhis song as it is very funny and deeply beautiful for its music and its lyrics. A lot of songs have these things in common tha I enjoy so much : La Parisienne (Marie-Paule Belle) Marly-Gomont (Kamini) Le monologue shakespearien (Vincent Delerm) Digicode (Oldelaf) Alleluia garanti (Jean Yanne) Clair de lune à Maubeuge (Bourvil) La salsa du demon (splendid) La bonne du curé (Annie Cordy) Ça m'énerve (Helmut Fritz) Mon copain Bismark (Nino Ferrer) Rap tout (les Inconnus)
I love this style of humor, the little everyday problems are an infinite source of humor and sadness at the same time and it's better to laugh about it otherwise life would be so sad. another song from Oldelaf et Monsieur D " Le Café"
He is famous for his humour, and sings on national radio every day. The word does not exist, but contrary to some explanations I think it is something between sadness and solitude.
Man what I love when I watch your reaction videos is that for me it feels a bit like re-discovering them for the first time :D Also as others mentioned, "tristitude" is a word Oldelaf made up. Of course that's something that would not be obvious for you as it is for us when we hear it for the first time, but at least the song gives a detailed explanation of what he means by that...and by now a lot of French people have heard his song so if you use it in France, especially with people 20-40 years old, they have a good chance of knowing exactly where you got it from...
As Olivier Delafosse (Oldelaf) told in song, this is a new word, mixed of "Tristesse" and "Solitude". To illustrate those perfect moments you fell deeply sad and totally alone in front of the universe. PS : Sorry for my English.
Hello! If you love oldelaf and the funny songs, I can advice you "fatal bazooka" with the song "pure soiree" or "trankillement" or the most famous "fous Ta cagoule" Nices react, thank you for loving our culture :)
Elle est très bien, très drôle et rappelle tellement de "belles" expériences, les Lego en effet. Et puis... Elles sont rarement mauvaises les chansons de Oldelaf... Il faut toutes les écouter. Et en ce moment c'est "Le père Noël" .... Excellent !!!! Try it D ... It's a gift for Christmas.
je confirme pour Nogent -Le-Rotrou pour y avoir fait une partie de mon service militaire , c'etait grave la tristitude les anciens de l'UIISC 1 me comprendront 🤣🤣🤣
Excellent. Ca me fait penser à Kamini avec son clip Marly Gomont, dans un style très différent. Ca serait bien de faire une réaction à son clip (un tube de rap totalement inédit, de 2006 ou 2007)
It is described in the lyrics at the end: Tristitude is a mix of two words tristesse (sadness) and solitude ( loneliness) to explain a mindset. A mix of melancholia and bad luck feeling.
J'adore trop la fin, le gars qui ne se retient plus et s'envole au karaoké du quartier. Tellement bien vu (la "tristitude" absolue pour celui qu'est dans le public ce soir-là) ! 😅
tristitude is a word that doesn't exist. it's a joke that relates to a politician who created a new word with "tude"... at the end, in order to create a literary, snobbish style. The word could rather be "tristesse" like "sadness". In the clip, they write the word "saditude"in the subtitle. that's the equivalent of the french "tristitude"...That's humour !
Le tunnel de Fourviere était le seul moyen de traverser Lyon pour aller dans le midi via l'autoroute quand le contournement n'existait pas (mais c'est toujours aussi galère avec les contournements).

so not really tristitude is not a word in french it has been made by Oldelaf sadness is tristesse in french so yeah you could call it saditude it's one of the main joke of the song
For me, the real "satitude" is to have come across this video with this corny and ridiculous song. I feel like I came across an old Polish clip under the soviet USSR 🤣
Oldelaf played this one a hundred times on a radio show and every day he was changing the lyrics with new tristitudes. He is brilliant
And quite dangerous listening to this while you're driving the car and crying of laughs ! :)
Oh yeah on Europe 1 commeting the news with a new version everytime
"La tristitude c'est s'immoler aujourd'hui vu le prix de l'essence." XD
"Saditude is self-immolation today given the price of gasoline."
No this time you didn't learn a French word because "tristitude" doesn't exist 😂 he invented it for the song.

C'est Ségolène Royal qui avait inventé ce mot lors des présidentielles contre Sarko😂
C'est pour ça qu'il l'a repris et en a fait une chanson 😂😂
She used the term bravitude for brave attitude, and Oldelaf refers to this lunar moment when she dropped the term.
the word got invented way before, a bit everywhere in france.

Rue de Nantes est ma préférée
J'allais recommander le Café aussi, mais visiblement c'est fait. :)
L'amour à l'hôtel Ibis, the video is great!
Besides that, Oldelaf makes very touching song like "les mains froides" : I recommend this videoclip&song
Loved very much his cocovoit also!
et evidemment : "c'est michel" de oldelaf
Je suis français et je découvre cette chanson grâce à toi, merci beaucoup 😂😂

Hello, you could try "Fatals Picards" too, like "La française des jeux" or "La sécurité de l'emploi".
Je l'ai souvent vu en concert, c'est toujours un très bon investissement, on ne s'ennui jamais avec lui
Seeing you reacting to Oldelaf gave me a little bit of happiness. Now I have a little bit of happiness inside me, thanks to you. ♥
Just imagine that you've understood only 10% of the lyrics.
Continue like this ! I really like watching you.

Comme tu dis, c’est tellement vrai que ça en est drôle 😁
C'est toujours vrai !

J'ai une petite préférence pour "Vendredi" et "Le crépi".
A thought for the creator of Lego who managed to give us a truly universal experience
“Tristitude” is an invented word by the singer. It's a “portmanteau,” a mix of two words ⇾ “Triste” and “Attitude”. 😉
