Non professional suggestions for allergy or colds, maybe try some of these. Hot honey tea with lemon squeezed, honey ( manuka best) and Cheyenne pepper to taste as liberally as you can tolerate to warm, not burn, your throat. It's a cleansing type tea, but seems help congestion sometimes. Also, I have used hot dark cocoa, honey with Cheyenne in a pinch when I was out of lemon. Another is Saline nasal rinses throughout the day.
