I'm literally just about to pull the trigger on a TrimUi Smart Pro to be my second ever retro emulation handheld, great timing! *my first being a Miyoo Mini Plus that I love.*
Oh the Miyoo Mini Plus is awesome. I think you will enjoy the TrimUI Smart Pro. I’ve been a fan of this handheld reviewing it prior to release seeing all its potential.
I see the whole trimui family. I do like the Trimui Smart as well but I don't know how I really feel about the Smart Pro. It's definitely getting a lot of support.
The FN button is mappable & most map it to CPU performance mode - Flick it to the left for when your playing lower powered systems like SNES/GB/Megadrive and below which will save battery - then flick it to the right for systems like PS1 so the CPU/GPU runs full power for smooth play on those more powerful systems 👍
I overthink the more technical side of these handhelds because I bricked an android device trying to put gammaos on it so I LOVE these options and honestly including the ports because I like to demo games before I buy them and so, for example, if half life runs great on a retro handheld after I’ve tested it, I’ll definitely go over to Steam and buy it! Really happy to see this device become more awesome over time
Nice video! I have a Smart Pro and upgraded to Crossmix OS. It's excellent. I highly recommend Crossmix OS. After seeing how good the Surwish Crossmix sd card is, I ordered a 256gb version, and it'll arrive in a few days. I'd like to know if it has the Amiga game Fire Power? Can you reply and confirm that? Thanks!
There is a few “Fire” titled games on Amiga but I’m not seeing Fire Power. I did take a peak at the Google machine however and it is a very easy game to find to add to the library
Sorry for the delayed response for some reason I was not alerted. It’s not on the card I’m sorry not sure what that game is. I did however use the google machine and it’s readily available
Could you possibly explain how to use two thighs on this for me? 1: how to load roms wirelessly from my phone (getting into retro emulation I tried it on my Pixel 8 Pro first) 2: how can I use moonlight to stream my pc games when I get my pc set back up.
You can transfer rims with SFTP from your phone. With moonlight on your PC download Sunshine which is an app that connects moonlight to your computer and pops up a browser interface to hold the connection and change any settings you want changed. If you have steam on your pc Moonlight will load into big picture mode. Change the name of “Steam big picture” to “steam” and it will skip the selection screen.
Are all of the same? I have a guy selling me one for 45 and another guy with newer boxer style for 70.. both are brand new look the same .. they both say pro 128gb .. probably a dumb question thank you for your time
Different sellers sell them with different OS’s and ROM distributions. There is also 2 different TSP’s. The only way I know how to tell is there is only 1 TSP pictured on the original box and 3 on the newest version. Not sure they make the version number any other way.
Better processor and GPU. Also stock overclock option for the CPU pushes that even further, and there's at least one person who's overclocked it even more, as well as someone who soldered in more RAM. But even without the extra effort, out of the box the CPU and GPU are better. It's a MUCH better option considering the price
I would buy a modded switch. Can emulate everything up to ps vita and can run switch natively. Not to forget that you can also use android and even get pc games to work in Linux. If you like to tinker around you could get some great titles to run. Not to forget that the qwitch dock also works in all the other softwares so you can detach the controller and play on your tv. The swith actually kind off rules.
@@CellPhish How so? What is different between the experience of a switch and this handheld? I I'm not trying to be rude or anything but I am not a native English speaker so my anwsers might be a little bit straight to the point 😅.
A modded Switch is great but it can simply not emulate PSVita. It caps around PSP. It's also more expensive, including the cost of the mod chip. And it's much easier to add games to crossmix than a modded Switch.
How can I fix the names for Mame and FB Neo roms? They look like encrypted ie. “sfiii”, on the games list, instead of the full name “Street Fighter III”.
"whats the easiest way to get crossmix os setup?" pay 50$ for an sd card with it :( you realize the handheld its 50$ and this version costs 100$ ? luckily with your coupon code it drops to 88$
All things I know. Also a very well curated rom library for people new to the hobby. It’s almost as good as the library I’ve spent years making on a SanDisk SD. There is some good value here.
Nah took mine about 5 days. Add in the price of a 128gb to your $60 TSP. Now take 16% off what they are selling it all for. It’s a wash and you don’t have to do any of the work. Seems like a good deal to me
I love that this is a option. If your new or don't have the time this is great.
Exactly what I was thinking. I stopped making my tutorial to checkout this other more consumer focused option
@CellPhish my first handheld was the miyoo mini plus gogamegeek sets up on a good card. It was relieving to just have it ready and reliable

Yep, that’s what I use it for. Depending on my mood I have it set to also turn off the lights around the sticks when I overclock the cpu
To add to the video, not just the trigger buttons are improved, so are speakers, as well as thermal pads (cooling) in this new version.
Good call. I was just so excited about being able to use the triggers

This handheld is great. Good news half life is in this build 😉
Great job. Love Crossmix!
Thank you
excellent video
Thank you
For $51.77 this is great! Mine is coming this week😊
Where did you find it at that price?

Did you ever make the video of how to watch TH-cam on the device please?
Working on it. I started it but then got a slew of devices that were time sensitive. I will get it up as soon as I can
@@CellPhish Thank you. I'll be looking for it
How does this compare to say the RG40xxh? Its really hard to keep track.

But even without the extra effort, out of the box the CPU and GPU are better. It's a MUCH better option considering the price
Price to performance now is better on the TSP. I like them both the 40xxH is more pocketable but the performance of the TSP is slightly better.
Does the card have PSP God of War Chains and Ghost on it? And does it have Dante’s Inferno? Thanks
Chains of Olympus yes
Which one is better black version or white
Good question. The white looks cleaner and black looks super classy
Which one you’re using? 1.1 or 1.2 version? Can you update via OTA?
I’ve got 2 TSP’s running each version. The one I showcased here does OTA yes
So if you get it with the sd card is everything already set up out of box or do we need to still update ourselves?
It’s plug and play. It’s setup exactly like my video
@@CellPhish ok 😊
Just ordered hopefully it arrives a tad sooner than 30 days though.
Can you buy the Crossmix micro SD from them separately?
This is a very good question I’m poking into it
Found it mechdiy.com/collections/surwish-servic-product/products/trimui-smart-pro-128gb-surwish-crossmix-os-1?ref=RetroSpecd
@@CellPhish Thank you
how does crossmix compare the knulli?
Very different. In my experience CrossMixOS is a bit more intuitive. I’d say it works at all experience levels and has something for everyone
Still waiting for mine to arrive, btw what are those 2 translucent devices to the sides?
Odin 2 Pro and RG556 I think is what you are asking?

I have a hard modded switch OLED. Not exactly the same thing. Also costs 3x’s as much. But thank you for watching my video

That is actually how they have been named since they were in Arcade machines
But for example, on Knulli on my RG35XX H when I go to Arcade games their names are translated to the full name.
which vertical shooter at 18:30 is that ?
It’s Bells & Whistles
No, bells and whistles is a cute’m up, this is some plane fighter shooter in mame? Can you check again, it definitely is *not* bells and whistles

Jesus Christ!!! It's $100 from these guys. It's about $55 - $60 from other sellers. They are all from China and will take about a month for delivery.

Got crossmix 128gb for 75$ from china, a friend brought it to my son and he can't get enough of it 😆
