    In this sample scratch tutorial from QSU (qbertskratchuniversity.com), DJ Qbert breaks down the secret to the infamous Boomerang Scratch, which was first pioneered by the great innovator DJ Flare. As you'll see, the boomerang is a continuous version of the Aquaman Scratch.
    Do the aquaman and keep it consistent: forward back forward, backward forward backward, counting 1, 2, 3 along. Swing back and forth along that 1, 2, 3 count. Once you can do that 1, 2, 3 swinging back and forth evenly, try to do multiple reps of that set without a pause in between each set. The elimination of the pause doesn't have to happen immediately. Of course, like practicing all other musical instruments, you build up on it. You start with long pauses in between, then speed up the pause each time. With a little bit of patience, you will soon be doing the Boomerang Scratch continuously.
    This lesson is only a portion of what can be available to you on Qbert Skratch University. Find out more at artistworks.com/qbert

    Two click flare and reverse og flare really helped learning these first even though they are open fader scratches. The aquaman scratch just joins them up nicely! Get good at two clicks! It's a must

    Learning the 2 click flare first helps with the fader hand. Then instead of doing an orbit move the record forwards backward and forwards again for first half them mirror the second half

      Why is it called the Aquaman?

    • @jaysims7534
      @jaysims7534 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike Costa he explained that it is a variation of the aquaman...the difference is that you don't make a definite pause, you swing without pausing to make it more fluid and rhythmic. It's like 1 2 swing 3 1 2 swing 3 instead of 123 pause 123 pause
