I love the ability to do rice with that pizza stone in the bottom to keep rice from burning and just slow down the cooking to do it being more absentee cooking.

Wondering if you use two baking stones, if you could add another piece of baking parchment on top and then put another preheated stone over it, if it would help the top and center cook. Excellent. I am going to buy one as soon as it’s available. But I would prefer a solid lid without the holes (if option available in the future, along with a titanium version 😊). The only thing missing from your arsenal is a mini smoker 😂

Brilliant move with the double heat diffusion, the cake bottom looked perfect for the amount of time it was cooking. I think the problem with the cake taking too long was not enough heat on the sides of the vessel. The proportion of height versus heat only on top and bottom caused the middle / thickest part of batter to take it's sweet time. I bet if you did that process inside a billy can, the cake would have been done in recipe-recommended time because the above issue would not exist. That Box Rock is AWESOME!
I like the idea of box pot and the stone for this... Can you make a video with a trangia? I like very much use alcol for cooking and i like to know if it's possible with this set.
Nice! Too bad you didn't get your trout, though. I would have put more water in with the bouillon to make it like a stew, but it still looked good. The cake turned out good, too!
Just some early feedback Steve. If the boxpot is aluminum, then you'd have to anodise it for me. I'm very sensitive to bare aluminum - I can taste in everything I cook/ boil in it! Apart from that, it looks like a very neat product!
Looks good, I like the rice, if you were just making rice, when the water was almost gone you could try and turn the fire off and let the stone's retained heat finish the job, or skip the stone and heat it directly in the water boil for 4 minutes then remove the pot and wrap the pot in a cotton cloth or shirt and place it in your cool new pack. To finish the rice off with the retained heat,to save on fuel. Having mentioned that I sense a new product removable "Square pot insulating cover" that the pot slips into like your coffee pot has. Can I please get mine in Green please:') Roger

Will the nano fit inside the BOX-POT out of the case or strap to the side with a ranger band. If you can post that information or some pictures that may be a neat solution.
The Nano does fit in the Box Pot but only with any cases. In the white cotton canvas bag. You probably could easily put the Nano on the side as well. The Box Pot will also come in a bag. 😁
The stainless steel lid would transfer heat better than a baking stone. I don't know of an option that would radiate better than what we already have. Thanks for thinking of me and offering your feedback 👍👌
The Nano does fit in the box pot with the x case but not with the lid closed. We are making a kit bag that will work very nicely with the box pot with space above it for additional items so you load into the box pot and put the lid off to the side that way you can really take advantage of the interior space.
The lighter gray colored and snaps on and off. As well as being able to unscrew the different heads. Under which there is a silicone end cap which seals the handle tube that can also be used as a bellows if you don't have your spices inside.

Just a thought: by pouring water over the baking stone and heating it i believe there is an increased possibility that nasties trapped inside the stone will migrate to the water. You should get it tested since baking stones are not usually used in this manner.

how would the cooking stone work in Billy pot baking as heat retention instead of rock or ball bearings? also how do you thik ths woulda have gone all same but with fire and no canister stove
We've had people cut up the pizza stones before in strips and then use them in the Billy Pots for the heat distribution and they say it works great. I don't know if this size pizza stone work work in the pots, you might want two. 🤔

My Phillipno wife of 27 years would be Proud of you. That is true. I think it could also be remedied with a windscreen kept close so the heat doesn't blow away before traveling up the sides.

How do you determine when you use the defuser plate.
You'll want the diffuser plate for anything other than boiling.

How much does the pot with lid and the pizza stone weigh?
The pot and lid together are 10 oz. I don't have a weight on the baking stone but stay tuned I'm sure it will be listed at some point soon.
