Brother you just convinced me to take a 1-2 man trip to Tennessee for my next striper fishing destination. I got free flights to Tn but never saw a reason to till now. Thanks for the detailed gear in your description and fishing destination info. What a action packed video this was. Subscribed!
If I had a way to send you pics I would, I have fished these dams since 95 , I have a pic of a 57 and several over 50lbs there is a hump near there down river where the huge females sit and wait for the fish to come to them, if you are ever down there I will show you, also have caught flathead over 70 lbs there
I grew up in Oak Ridge, TN. Strippers hit hard, but I’m not a fan of them. If you want the monsters head a few miles down river to Bull Run Steam Plant. Fish where the plant releases warm water. The fish get massive in there.
Nice videos bro! Have you been there recently? Was thinking of trying it out this weekend. Wondering if it’s a good time and if there’s been any action 🔥🔥🔥
@@StriperPursuit yea man, tried it out today. It’s like you said, tons of Drums. That’s all anyone was catching. Crazy cause the shad were running up and down the bank all day. Couldn’t find the strippers though. I’ll try it again next week
I didn’t keep any hybrids but we kept a few stripers. For 30” stripers we usually just fillet them and then bake them. After that we mash them up and mix them with vegetables and sauces. Asian people call it “larb” and it’s a delicious way to cook fish that taste fishy.
Vietnamese? Cuisine? I'm half Chinese I usually just cut that red blood line out and steam cook it like steam in a bag w/ garlic, ginger, green onions, and leeks
Was gonna say let them breed unless a gill hook and they won’t make it…. It’s 2 per person… the limit. So This river has 2 types and struggled for a while with the strip. Local here… fishing is better at Fort Loudon.10 minutes away.
Yea, if I can I only keep a limit once a year since those fish ain’t exactly safe to eat often. If I go anymore throughout the year it’s all CnR. Melton is just easier to fish if they’re there.
So is anyone going to tell them that down the river there is a sign that says dont eat the fish in those waters due to the funky shit spilling out into it? 😂 Goofy bastards will eat anything 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Mostly everyone who fishes there knows that. I’m not local to TN and I know. I’ve spoken to TWRA and from my understanding you’ll be alright if you eat fish that size once a year and have small portions. I share the fish we keep with multiple families and usually only come to TN a few times a year to fish. The smaller ones are much more preferred since they carry less of the toxins but I get what I can get sometimes.
I’m not sure actually. The surrounding area is shallow with rocks but the turbine area is probably around 15 ft maybe. Pass the turbines and rocks it gets to about 7-8ft.
@@StriperPursuit , get a fish gripper to grab your fish instead of using your bare hands. Don’t want a hook getting into you. Been there and done that.
Oh, oh well too late for that. Thankfully I hardly eat it but once or twice a year between a big family and other families. Never saw any signs there tho.

Great hybrid, congratulations!
Male female it doesnt matter. These fish were born in a hatchery. All landlocked striped bass are.
That was a badass video, new subscriber here and fish for striper around tennessee too!
Nice, wished I could fish there more often without having to travel so far.

That would be awesome! Too bad I'm about 4 hours away otherwise I would go there more often.
Would love to see them stripers pictures Jordan

Killed it. Beast hybrid. Lkn needs hybrids that size.
I don’t even think there’s a chance that there is one that big in Norman with all these little ones lol.
@@StriperPursuit lol you ain't lying haha
How’s that 9ft power stick holding up? Got one on order hopefully I won’t be disappointed
Had it for years and it’s pulled in MANY fish of all size! Things a beast for it’s price! Still my go to set up for lighter tackle.
Nice hybrids! I catch those here in Alabama too,but that last one you caught was huge! How did they taste? How did yall cook them?

What's the best time of the year to fish for them?
Spring to early summer and Late summer to the fall time is my go to. Right now they should be in there but haven’t gone in a while.

Yes
How many ounces was the jig head you were using?
Most of the time it was 1.5oz but I like using 2oz too depending on where I wanna hit in the current.
Watching your video
Any info of rod and reel.?
All in the video description.

Nice hybrid!
In New York were only allowed one keeper striper no limit by you guys ?
These are freshwater stripers. In Tennessee we’re allowed 2 stripers over 15” after april 1st.
Cool I was just wondering really enjoyed the video
yes, two striper limit per day in Tennessee
Is this video from last year?
Nope, April 2 2021
@@StriperPursuit do you know when is good time to fishing there in this year(2022)
Can’t say for sure but maybe around mid to late April. They should for sure be there in May though.
@@StriperPursuit thanks bro
Al gag is the best.
One heck of a Hybrid man. You get a weight on it?
sadly, no. I was too lazy to run back to the car and I regret it. I'm guessing close to 13-14lbs maybe. It was extremly thickk!
how deep is that dam?

@@StriperPursuit When is the best time/month to fish there? Thanks in advance!
Probably around end of this month until end of may.
