The main problem in this case was the Bunker that we used in our Engine, it caused our Fuel Pumps to seize and Mein engine stopped working completely... so let's find out what really happened here and how we were able to save our Ship....What HAPPENED when our ship Got DISABLED AT SEA ...

Just remembered that day when i went (for some maintenance work) into a ship that was few kms away from port of salalah. There were also lathe machines already in the ship. The scariest part was jump to rope staircase from a small boat. Overall it was a great experience.

Thank god your generator was still running. I’ve seen situation where we ran out of DO and our generator was DO operated. Luckily we managed to reach Salalah anchorage after the last drop ran out.

Very interesting and informative! my brother in law was chief engineer in NSC told me about one such incident as well,when his brand new ship MV Shalimar was on its maiden voyage from a West German port and it developed a major fault in its engine and was repaired under his supervision in 48 hours, he mentioned that he hardly took any rest in that time .
Life at sea is full of challenges and seaman are made of some special material to take on those challenges.
