      @grn1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@DasAntiNaziBroetchen That may be part of it though another part is simply the way a TH-camr can teach vs the way even a good teacher has to teach. They can't veer too far from the curriculum/have to cover certain topics in a certain amount of time, they have more of a set schedule for how long each lesson is and the lesson is usually given at hours when students may not be at their best performance (I never was). There's also forced teaching vs free learning, with TH-cam we're tuning in on our time if/when we feel like it.

    I'm really glad I subscribed to this channel. To be honest, not only are you funny, but you also know how to teach physics stuff. I've learned so much more from your videos than my semester in Electricity and Magnetism course haha. Keep doing what you are doing. Entertaining and educating like this is a must for STEM students like me. To keep us interested in these studies.

      I recently read that learning styles is bunk. I suggest an at home experiment to prove you learn well kinesthetically(spelling is for losers) too. Separate your forearms by 1 meter and have an assistant run one ampere of current through them. Give yourself time to fully experience the 10^-7 newtons of force and I bet you'll remember that factoid until the day you die. I'm so sure I'm right I won't bother suggesting how to complete the experiment in a scientifically valid way.

    • @michaeljburt
      @michaeljburt 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you're asking for is not possible. There is no microscope powerful enough to "look" at electrons as they pass through a conductor. The best way I like to teach this is by saying that we only know the "average motion of a very large number of electrons". The analogy to water is pretty good, the only exception is that you literally cannot *know* the location of any particular electron at a given time. This gets into quantum physics and the uncertainty principle.

    If one of you guys doesn't understand this, I'd suggest rewatching it. Try consulting other videos if you still don't get it. Eugene Khutoryansky has some great videos on the subject. Also Afrotechmod and Great Scott. To name a few. Don't be deterred if you don't understand something right away. Physics and electronics in general are ways of thinking that we're generally not used to. So it will take some time to gain an intuitive understanding of this stuff. But I guarantee if you keep trying you eventually will.
    This is a nice circuit simulator program that will help to give you a visual demonstration of various circuits. It was a great resource in helping me to understand voltage and current:
    sourceforge.net/projects/circuitmod/
    And here's a Java version of the same program which you can run right in your browser. In case you don't feel like downloading it:
