I as gifted the last crusades written by Barnaby Rogerson by my aunt. It was one of the best books I ever read. Set is the 1500's its describes the political atmosphere of the era and how the actions taken in those periods still have an impact today. This includes the Spanish Reconquista, the ottoman expansion into Europe and the middle east and the establishment of the Portuguese empire. It was quite informative.

Books not mentioned here are critical in understanding the thuggish polity of Muslims aka Pakistan. 1) Among the Believers. The book exposes the yawning gap between the demands of the modern world and the current frame of mind of medieval Muslims. The writer Naipaul has done a great favor. Ten years later, he stepped into the Muslim ghetto once again. 2) Beyond Belief. Each chapter looks at this medieval nightmare from a different angle. The beauty lies in the fact that the writer lets the individuals speak. Yes, he stays at the background. To those who read and enjoy these two books must have been familiar with his book “The Enigma of Arrival”, a book that earned the writer Nobel Prize in 2001. The books mentioned in this video could serve those two books as a footnote.

He mentioned good books of philosophy but fun fact is western philosophers said they never read deep philosophy like indian philosophy.. And it's true ex vivekanand, osho, krishmurti etc no one in the world dare to challenge them in term of knowledge .. Muzammil said right that they are basis book ..because only Indian philosophy is deep than ocean.. Even your mohammad was not as wise as which I mentioned above.. Forget about buddha, mahavir, gurunanak, patanjali etc

I find it incredible how disconnected Pakistani intellectuals are from the core of Islamic civilization. I mean you didn't quote a single classical pre colonial text written by Muslim writers like Akbarnama or Ibn Khadun's Theory of the evolution of empires, Avicenna's Politics, or Fazl e Haq Khairabdi's discourses on the destruction of real civilization by the British in 1857 and replacement of it with a westernized class of clerks who continue to rule Pakistan to this day.
