As a mother of four and grandmother of seven, I worked out many years mostly from home. I speed-walked (my favorite), jogged (hard on joints), aerobics, and strength training. Now, many years later (I’m 69), the strength training is what has benefitted me most. Good for you to workout while you are young. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and though we don’t want to obsess, we do want to keep ourselves in the best shape we can. Thx for sharing your family with us.
Never put everything ahead of yourself. Your fitness is vital not just for you but also your family. Besides, you look very good for having 5 children. Saw Jana's video the other day and you look to be the same size. It's important to have an impartial cheerleader on your side. I have recently started my own exercise journey at 75.
Jessa, you look fabulous! I wouldn’t believe that you’re the mother of five children if I hadn’t been following you for years. Congratulations on your progress!
So agreed! I know some of it comes from genetics because all her sisters with kids had good bounce back after giving birth, but much more of it I believe is pure determination. Finding time maybe between naps, lunches, feeding to work out, so commendable. Love! And George is adorable
I'm not trying to be negative I just know personally I've had some experiences with people saying, "You look great for (fill in the blank)." And it's not the most helpful or encouraging language to add a qualifier like "for having five kids" to the end of what is supposed to be a compliment. I would just suggest an earnestly encouraging, "You're doing great!" "You look so strong!" Or "I'm so impressed with your commitment!" Rather than commenting on looks with a qualifier of having had five kids. Sorry if it's not my place, just trying to be helpful! 💕
@@englarian1017You're not being negative at all. I totally get it. Adding on after "you look great for..having x amount of kids, or being x amount of years old. Like I turned 41 last year, and well meaning people say "you look great for 41" or "you don't look 41 at all!" Like how is a 41 supposed to look? Like a dried out California Raisin? I'm asain so it does play a factor in me looking younger, but I get where you're coming from
Strength training is so important for women’s hormones and living a healthy life as we age. This is something I wish I had known in my younger years. You won’t regret sticking with it as you get older.🥰
I’m a mom of 2 and fitness was the missing piece I needed. I went from being tired, caffeinated and unmotivated to being energized and strong. This is not talked about enough in Christian circles! And as a healthcare professional, I can speak to the importance of exercise for feel good hormones. Christians often think that depression/anxiety are solely spiritual issues, but we are body mind and spirit. When we’re not taking care of our bodies, our whole being suffers.
Agreed 💯!!!! I remember I used to do a women’s bootcamp and the owner/instructor was amazing she taught what you mentioned we would also do Bible studies together. I do miss her workouts they were so motivating it was best shape I’ve ever been in body soul and mind 🙏 I’m hoping to do something like that again. Eventually she had to stop her camps due to family. Women’s boot camps are amazing if y’all can find one.
I think it’s a co-sleeper crib. That way he’s close to his mama (which is helpful for breastfeeding, and keeping your baby in your room for the first year is recommended). But it’s safe because he has his own bed (not sleeping in between his parents in their bed). I hope that helps!
Jessa, I remember your mom coming to this point in her life and getting a treadmill. I'm so glad you are embracing your best health. You will be healthy and your best in years to come. Yeah for you!!!
I love that your focus is on feeling good and feeling strong enough to lift kids and carry them and run around with them. So many women hyperfixate on the numbers and appearance. It's great to see you as role model for healthy living!!
You look great and you haven't aged one bit!! George is so adorable!! George having blowouts is far better than him dealing with constipation!! I'm glad that the customized workout plan is working out great for you!!
Good job being a good steward of the body God has given you! Always for His glory and your good... and since you're a wife and mama, their good too! ❤👍
Great job Jessa 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿! I had my 5th in October and I don’t lose weight while breastfeeding, but I just started back working out also 🤗! Kudos to you and thank you for sharing ❤️🙏🏿!
Jessa you look beautiful and so healthy! I am so happy to see you on TH-cam again! Thanks for sharing this with us! Love you and your family! Love and Prayers Always
Thanks for sharing. You look great. My goal is to put more strength training into my workouts. I normally just walk 4-5 days a week. At 61 years old. I know I need to add strength.
Us post menopausal women lose muscle mass quickly. The cardio can be an easy 30 min+ walk but the strength training supports everything from diaphragm, core, to the entire skeletal system. Lift weights!
I am 58 and from the age of 9 to the age of 56 I have had 6 or more different types of abdominal surgeries (never any children though.) But I feel this damage to my abdominal muscles due to these surgeries has to be equivalent to having as many babies. I have also been fighting a battle with diverticulitis in the last 8 months so this was wreaking more havoc to my abdomen. I need a workout that is tailored to helping me rebuild my core muscles slowly and gradually without causing severe abdominal pain in the process. Is there a surgery and illness recovery workout for damaged abdominal muscles/nerves?
All of need to take care of ourselves. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm trying to get healthier. I exercise to Contemporary Christian music. It helps. I'll get to where I want to. I just need to not.give up. You'll get to where you want to be as well. I have no doubt.
You've inspired me! I need to try something like this. Sometimes getting started is the hardest part, and getting through that initial few weeks of establishing the routine. ❤
I just finished the new vlog and hope you guys have a great Monday morning, afternoon and evening with the kids and all of the kids are so cute and adorable and baby George is so cute and adorable and he is 6 and a half months old almost 7 months and he is getting so big already and also he definitely looks like Ivy and Fern.
Thanks so much for this video! I'm so not motivated to work out. At one point my friend and I went every night for a week and we were going to continue and went to our gym and it was gone! lol I thought what are the odds of this happening right when I was starting a routine! But anyway...this app looks so cool ! You're doing so well and I love that you have a personal coach that keeps you accountable. Georgie is so big and adorable! Say what is that watch that you use? Thanks and continued success with your work outs! ❤🙏 Hi to the family!
You look great Jessa. I started cardio drumming which is a blast! I am much older than you but know how important it is to stay active at any age. It is good not only for the body but also for the soul. When you are at your best it reflects on the whole family. Keep up the great work you look fabulous!
I was watching Ferns birthday week, all of the kiddos are growing so fast. "The comments are turned off" wishing fern and pops a happy birthday 🎈🎈 birthday buddies. It was really nice seeing mom and pops in the video. I hope they had both had a amazing birthday 🎂🎈. Sending love ❤❤
I can’t comment on Fern’s 3rd bday video, but I wanted to just say I think she is impressively verbal. I know every kid develops at their own rate and that’s totally fine, but I think it’s really neat that she can express herself so clearly. Good job, Fern-Fern, and happy bday!
Thanks Jessa, I needed this encouragement.. I can't get out of the house like I used to because of my husbands health, think I will start an exercise routine right here in my home which will help me not only mentally but physically! I have never been a "workout" person either, but like you said, if I can do so can anyone!!
You look great, Jessa! That was good motivation for me. I like doing Pilates and have a YT channel that I follow that puts on great classes. I'll get into it again.... PS - this advice is WAY early for you, but once you hit menopause you will be SO glad you worked on being fit. You'll need it! Menopause is no joke...
Way to go Jessa !! I definitely noticed that you had slimmed down and were looking great ! After 5 kiddos that’s not easy. Congratulations on this new Journey of Practicing Self Care Honey Keep it up. God Bless xo
Great incentive!…thank you😊at 67 I need some toning as skin is starting to change….do walk 4 miles daily rain or shine & Peloton bike ride but adding this would be a plus for target toning with weights….Blessings✝️💟
I love this idea!!! So glad you can do it. I wish I could afford the trainwell program!!!! Hopefully soon I can do it!!!! I totally need accountability! After my hospital incident in 2022 I need someone to help me ease back into working out. I used to workout at women’s bootcamps and I miss them. 🙏
George is so cute! He looks like a mix of Henry and Ivy to me ❤ Do you know if it is possible to use the app WITHOUT the coach lol? It looks awesome, but my social anxiety is like nope 🙈

Would you mind sharing what you eat? I would love to know how you fuel yourself to have energy and health while taking care of your family.
I second this!
Same!!! @JessaSewald
Yes please 🙏 simple food ideas would be amazing
tattertort casarol i think, and maybe sandwich with tuna
Yes, maybe a "what I eat in a week" or what it takes to feed your family for a week!!

Your kids are all so cute! Love your life updates! ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Gosh chasing five kids around and keeping up house work and cooking would be quite the workout.🥴
I’m so confused by that crib thing. Jessa you’re beautiful as always and have such beautiful babies!

Honestly, after having 5 kids you still look great! God bless your fitness journey.
You look great and you haven't aged one bit!! George is so adorable!! George having blowouts is far better than him dealing with constipation!! I'm glad that the customized workout plan is working out great for you!!
You look great Jessa. Look after yourself now while you are young, it becomes much harder as you get older.
Jessa, exercising will help so much with keeping your bones healthy, too! Good for you for taking care of yourself. ❤
Would love a video on day in the life homeschool/what your school day looks like, best advice for homeschool etc! All things homeschool haha
1st year is hardest...find homeschool groups in your area..give yourself grace!!
This was an ad, not a life update. I suspect we'll get a homeschool update when she's partnered w/ someone selling curriculum.
Good job being a good steward of the body God has given you! Always for His glory and your good... and since you're a wife and mama, their good too! ❤👍

Your baby looks so much like his Mama! Eyes, nose, mouth. Does he look like your baby pictures? He is a cutie.
All of the kids are so adorable I love following your journey ❤️
I love this for you! Ive been lifting/strength training for 4 years now and its the best thing I could have done for my fitness and health
You look amazing after having 5 kiddos!!!!
