    Thank you very much. I did not realize all the uses of this foot. I am a novice at sewing but am starting to do some quilting. My sister use to do it and when she passed I decided that her grandchildren that came after her passing also needed their own baby quilts. This foot is actually a big help. Thank you again for the video.

    Hi! To lock in the stitches, bring your stitch length down to 0.0 and sew a few stitches. Basically, you are sewing a knot. Then, bring your stitch length back up and sew like normal. Pretty nifty!

    I have watched a lot of vids on installing the walking foot. This one is the very best! She shows you the fabrics that work, including quilting, HOW the Walking foot works and even mentions the tension adjustment, which I would have REALLY goofed up if I didn't know that! TY SO MUCH!

    What a help. My walking foot hasn't been on my machine yet, and now I know how to install it. I've made several quilted items without one, and now, how I wish I'd realized the walking foots' ability to align my work. Amazing, and thanks agains!

    Just getting back into sewing after many years away. Wanting to learn to machine quilt. Have just purchased a walking foot and have had a little difficulty installing it. Your video was VERY helpful to see how to do it and also to watch the different applications! Thanks for your tutorial! I will watch for more of your videos!

    Thank you. I have only been sewing for almost three months. First masks by hand. Now, by machine or hand...according to how I feel at the moment. I am learning so much!! I ordered a walking foot; it was delivered today. Tried it out and am amazed at the smoothness and difference in the way the material feeds through. I am so grateful for the (extensive variety) of tutorials I have found on TH-cam.

    Thank you for this information. I now know how to lock in my stitch without reversing. Didn't know you couldn't really go in reverse with the walking foot.

    We don't have a foot with a specific 'mark' , but most of them are designed so that if you put the needle to the far right position (still within the opening) and guide the fabric along the outside edge, it equals 1/4 inch. I just tested it with my walking foot and a ruler - a perfect 1/4inch! What machine make and model do you have?

    I bought a walking foot and attached it to my 30 year old all metal Kenmore. But the fit is such that when it is attached the foot is pressed against the machine throat plate and no fabric can fit between, never ind my four layer quilt. Do you think this means my machine can't use a quilting foot?

    Great video. This is definitely helpful especially as a beginner. Just a quick question. What stitch length are you using to have your stitches so straight. Mine are a bit zig zaged. I have a brother CS-6000i. Thanks!

    • @SewingPartsOnline

      I think I'm just using a 2.5 mm length. If the actual stitches look a little zigzag, or might be time to change the needle

    It is a high shank machine? Low Shank? It doesn't appear to be a used in the united states, but many presser feet are generic and can be used with other brand machines. If you can tell me the shank type, I can tell the perfect walking foot for it.

    • @SewingPartsOnline
      @SewingPartsOnline  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for watching our videos! I'm so glad they have been a help! Minky is super soft fabric. It's very popular when making baby blankets, because the fabric is rich and warm. I can't really describe it, other than saying it's awesome. If you get a chance, the next time you go to the fabric store, wander around the baby fabric section. One of the employees will show you were the minky is. Warning: you may fall in love.

    Hi Sara, this is a terrific video, thank you very much. I need to buy a walking foot for my machine, Brother Dream Creator VQ2400 and I checked the brother site to get the part number of the foot. There are two that work on my machine, a regular walking foot and an open toe. I make layered fleece blankets, two layers of fleece with layers of polyfill in between, just straight sewing, not quilting. Not sure which foot to get. Your description of the difference between these two feet was really good, I'm asking because the regular foot is $24 more ($97.99 vs. $73.99) than the open toe. If you were me, which would you get? Thanks very much for your advice.

    It would be good if you could show or update a segment using the walking foot with velvet. I'm sewing curtain ties with loops for my friends and they chose velvet ( I think they just wanted me lose it ) and it has or still is a frustrating journey. I tried the walking foot for the velvet, but i might of rushed a bit, because the seam stitch just ended up being half an inch uneven at the end.
    I'll give it a go but if it doesn't work out I'll let you know and hopefully you or someone else could tell me where I'm going wrong
