Its sad how the world is deteriorating before our eyes
Let me finish the rest of that sentence for you; it’s sad how the world is deteriorating before our eyes because of greed.
Exactly, these planes are reaching the end of their service life and Boeing is going the cheap route with the new stuff to keep the stock and their board happy. Pathetic!

New company slogan..."Fly Boeing. Because every day's an adventure".
😂😂😂 that is very funny. 😁👍
I think this is a coordinated effort to remove travel by airplane in general.
It's only happening with planes involving San Francisco.
I think so
Then why isn't this happening to Airbus or Embraer aircraft?

Pilots are refusing to fly Boeing.
Who can blame them?
Staff that put the planes together won’t fly on them, it’s insane.
No we are not
No they’re not. I have a lot of friends that fly for Delta and NONE refuse to fly their Boeing aircraft. It’s the airline’s maintenance.
@alrivas1477 Untrue..
Aircraft mech here. Cheesecloth makes a great wipe because it soaks up solvent solutions really well and it doesn't leave dingleberries when wiping surfaces that aren't perfectly smooth. It's also abrasive and great for removing bits of leftover sealants. Its use is specifically called for in some processes and procedures.
That’s really interesting
Also, dish soap solutions make great lubricants. Most of it evaporates and it doesn’t leave behind a goopy mess to attract dirt.
@bittnerbs so a company that makes aircraft is better suited using a dish soap then a specially made lubricant for airplanes?
Boeing is a part of the government as a defense contractor. Couple that with that fact that it is a public company focused on profit- this is the ultimate recipe for mediocrity.
I’ve worked in QA in manufacturing and government. This will not get better any time soon or ever really.
A publicly traded company has only one top priority - making money for shareholders. Safety is not number 1 priority. That seems like an issue when you have a company where safety has to be the top priority.

Some could be Boeing and some could be the airlines taking short cuts on maintenance.
At least the pilots are paying attention and doing their jobs.
There you go, Tom. If there are structural issues the maintenance people can't do anything to fix it.
Using soapy water to leak check is a common practice. There is a mil spec soapy water solution that the military uses. That's what the dish soap sounds like to me.
I was about to say I use soapy water dish detergent, little kids bubbles spit...All sorts of stuff before for leak detection in my field if I can't get a bottle of leak detector bubbles..... At least they were checking for leaks right? 😅 But also if they were just using like a card or something has a scraper or a pry tool. I don't see that being giant news. I also have multiple different plastic things I use for squeegees and scrapers. My work doesn't go in the air though, It moves the air but still they need to straighten up

AGE OF A.I is the new paradigm were all scared of.
The door was a maintenance issue as well , the mechanics LEFT THE BOLTS OFF AFTER MAINTENANCE.
Airlines can do maintenance checks etc but build quality is totally different and very difficult to assess if a piece of equipment is faulty deep inside the aircraft which may not be looked at for many years between deep maintenance periods.
Boeing (and for example Intel) are great examples of what happens to engineer founded and engineer led companies after their leadership is taken over or handed over to business majors. The quarterly returns to the company shareholders become the number one KPI that overruns everything else which leads to cutting corners at every turning point, and skimping on R&D and innovation (as these require large investments of time, money, and manpower, and not every avenue of R&D brings a return on those investments).
When you use DEI hires to build your airplanes….
Good segment guys
It was hydraulic fluid spewing out of the landing gear. The accumulator has reserve fluid in case of loss, but a couple of gear cycles would deplete that reserve and then flight controls would be lost.
No. Most passenger aircraft have 3 independent hydraulic systems for exactly these types of scenarios.
They pay car mechanics more than aircraft technicians
not true lol. i work on private jets as an aircraft mechanic.. mechanics at United Airlines top out at $61/hour after six years.. not to mention the super cheap flights and 4+ weeks of vacation a year. with overtime a United Airlines AMT can easily break $200k a year
Last week they grounded the plane I was supposed to fly on because of a fuel leak.
I’ve been flying my whole life, I’ve never had a fear of flying, BUT I sure as hell have a few concerns now!!! WTF, Boeing?!!
So if you drove a 20-year Honda Accord and the wheel fall off, is it Honda's fault or your fault for not doing the right maintenance?
That’s an engine compressor stall. Even though I’m not a fan of Boeing, that event has nothing to do with them. A foreign object/animal, such as a drone, bird etc, got ingested in the engine. Could also be a maintenance issue. Therefore the airline’s responsibility.
Yes I was about to say . And even if it’s the airlines fault for not keeping up with maintenance
Bit with so poor qa testing i will blame boeing before airline
It was reported that bubble rap was ingested into the engine.
Good thing the engines aren’t built by Boeing
I work for a company that making Boeing engines.
Their airplanes are really put together by bubblegum and superglue 🤣
They are trying to say the pilot moved his seat forward and pushed on the controls to cover up this one....
I think I'll just stick to driving. The airlines treat passengers poorly and don't even have functional equipment.
I have big comfy road trip suburban and podcasts for days, I'm good!
I love driving across the ocean
Aha, maybe that’s just the response they were looking for…
Most of Delta's longer flights are Airbus planes, which are much better.
These minor incidents happen every day. The news cycle has just picked it up and people who normally don't pay attention, are seeing about it. I've been watching aviation news for decades. I really don't think there's been that much of an uptick. That doesn't mean I don't believe Boeing isn't sinking fast though.
You might have a point, they do seem to be blowing all of these incidents a bit out of proportion. Meanwhile nobody seems to be talking about at least three recent incidents where a thrust reverser unlocked in flight on an Airbus A320.
100% true. I've been a pilot for 35 years. I fly the Max almost every week. The stats between every acft manufacturer are very near identical. These type of incidents happen almost every day with the thousands of flights each day.
I already hate flying, but this just solidified all my fears. Never flying again.
I'm no fan of boeing, buuuut, as a contractor and mechanic, using dishsoap and a keycard/credit card/ business card has been in the industries for years. Yea, the manual probably has specific techniques, but anyone that works with their hands daily, know about the wonderful uses of household products.
Sincerely, Michael E. Boeing III
There’s more planes ✈️ in the ocean than there are boats in the sky!!!!
United did not cancel their Boeing orders. They changed them from Max 10 to Max 9
I’m a frequent traveler (including transcontinental long haul flights). I’m now avoiding booking any flights on Boeing planes at any cost. Just yesterday I booked a flight to Austria and paid $250 extra to fly on an Airbus with Lufthansa (German airline) instead of a Boeing flight with United. I don’t trust Boeing at all anymore. United Airlines has been having a lot of these problems, but one of the recent ones was also on American Air. Bear in mind, Southwest Airlines exclusively buys Boeing 737s (not the Max 9 but it’s still a Boeing).
These problems are terrifying, and they need to fix it immediately.
You guys need to stop spreading bad info. I work as an airline technician. Now while I don’t support Boeing’s definite screw ups ( and they currently have many ) Boeing does not make the engines nor are they responsible for the maintenance of the aircraft ( wheel falling off ). It’s pretty safe to say that those two incidents were maintenance related. At the airline I worked for, we had a main tire fall of a 737 while taxiing to the gate, fresh out of maintenance. Didn’t blame Boeing. Mechanics messed up on the installation of the wheel assembly.
Yes
Using Dawn dishwashing liquid to help install rubber seals is a common mechanics trick that works very well, the rest of the story is the bad part.
It’s a plane!
Well they're also pointing out some issues that are obviously maintenance related, and not Boeing's fault.
If the design doesn't work they need to go back to the engineers and say it doesn't work. You can't just jam the thing in there with soap and hope for the best.
Rubber seals HAVE to fit super tight or they don't work. Rubber against any smooth surface needs something to allow it to slip while installing but will quickly dry away and loose it's slip.
I’m scared of heights too bro, Damn Boeing 😂
My experience exactly. Ship one forward, DC 10. Turkish Air crash in Paris….. Douglas went BK eventually
I was one of the few inspectors who knew as I worked directly on this… so much I could say
The last Boeing I used in October (Middle East) had 4 of the windows taped with a masking tape...
If you work in aviation manufacturing you need to focus on safety, quality and production in that order. It doesn’t work the other way around. If meeting a production deadline comes at the cost of quality and safety You will be on the news soon. Don’t cut corners on the job.
The only thing I care about is Boeing's ESG score. How is it doing with regards to DEI? Everything else is just a bunch of noise.
To be fair, dawn detergent and cheese cloth is common practice to install rubber seals
You guys really need to learn what is a maintenance issue and what is a manufacturing issue.
Cheesecloth is a lint-free, open weave cotton ideal for the kitchen and CLEANING.
I just got back two weeks ago from Brazil. The United flight I took was so full of turbulence (which reminded me of all the other problems that had occurred with planes recently) that I spent most of my night praying we’d make it to Houston. I don’t think I’ll ever fly with United again.
Ohhhh so Ho…..me team, it’s not DEI initiative why these planes are not performing well right?? It’s the lack of regulations these corporations cut
Dish soap is used to find leaks on pressurized pipes and seals. Soap also aids im assembly of lines and covers
I’m a Boeing Quality employee. These aircraft are extremely safe. That’s what the data shows. Judging an entire company on a few peoples actions isn’t right. But this is a good wake up call and I’m very happy to see Boeing reform.
Exactly. Misinformation like this video is difficult to overcome, but I wish some of these news agencies would consult actual experts on the subject matter. Every assembly line has tons of laborers who think the management are idiots and disconnected. I could find employees at any company willing to trash their own company. The stats don't back up any of these claims.
@@MrSmiths I agree.. there is always room for improvement though. I welcome it.
Found the Boeing CEO's in the comments.
Seems to me, most of the issues that took place with United, are on United. This, ironically enough, isn't actually all on Boeing. Boeing can't be held liable on one of the incidents for sure because, it was an Airbus aircraft that had the issue.

This is really scary.
Didn't yet ANOTHER thing came up with the MAX today related to the spoilers deploying because of faulty wiring?
I honestly don't think it's this difficult to build properly and safely. Starting to think it's deliberate effort to scare people shi*less and ground them. Less travel = bigger mind control
