I adore this man's musicianship. That 5150III amp head is perfection, his guitar is simple and straightforward, and his playing style is realistic and raw. Gojira changed my life, and I hope Joe knows how much he and the rest of the band means to us fans.

Excellent Jo... Gojira, le meilleur groupe de Metal au monde, et les 2 frangins qui sont extrêmement creatifs, à l'image de Pantera... Tous les musiciens du groupe sont excellents. Hate de vous revoir en live, et de prendre un bon coup de pied au c.l qui rebouste la motivation. Quand on vous vois on a juste envie d'aller eclater nos instrus. Its cool seeing more and more metal players showing love for vintage output pickups. Not to mention, EVH amps have more gain than you'll ever need.
I'm 41 and the older I get the more I prefer lower output pickups, even for metal. PAF style pickups are more dynamic. If I need more gain there are always a gain knob on my amps or I can use gain/boost pedals. I even love single-coil pickups with gain, for the dynamic and rawness, I just hate the noise but I'm about to buy a BOSS NS-2 to solve this drawback.

What I love about Gojira is their often usage of tapping in their riffs (while most metal bands utliizes tapping mainly in solos). I thing it's quite original and help them to give their music a unique flavour. Besides that a great guitar. I love classic telecaster shape, but I also love the heaviness of humbuckers, so for me it's a perfect combination ;-)

Its the amp.... Pickup only contributes like 10% of your sound

5150, TS and good tonal finger and pick hand technique
this kinda pickup really lets the personality of the player come thru. Seems really versatile too. you can go up and down the gain structure with it and it'll still be legit

Love his sound! The Cleanest distortion with the great articulation I have ever heard....first was van halen...now this.... period...die for this rig! You can actually hear the guitar in the mix..you cant hear what the guitars are doing on most metal songs today.

The only common thing this guitar has with a telecaster is the shape (mahogany body & neck, 2 humbuckers, tune-o-matic style bridge, ebony fingerboard..)

It would seem that I will be replacing my pick ups in Joe’s signature Charvel I own. And oh yeah, I am dying for this new record that I think he might have just jamed a little of at 4:03. Gojira is hands down my favorite band ever and I don’t think I will ever find another band like them that graves my soul and crushes it like they do.
What pickups are on it currently?
@@metalheadblues If they're the stock ones its Seymour Duncans. I believe it was a JB in the bridge and one of the usual pairings in the neck, probably a Jazz.

went straight here after watching fluff's video on joe's signature pickups. i'm not a fan of the tele shape, but this guitar sounds so freaking awesome with the fortitude pickup. i need this in my life!
Love Joe's style and he just seems like a really good dude. I just recently (this past year) became a fan of Gojira.
