Monty, Kelly, Joe and Jill, you are the ones that have inspired me to pick up role-playing again.
I was in the grips of the consuming darkness of a terrible depression.
Then I watched the three episodes that had been released of Dungeons of Drakkenheim.
This inspired me to at least try D&D again.
Now I DM two campaigns and play in two as well. I have reconnected with old friends and made many new ones.
All this I owe to you guys.

Since months I have been wondering how you would manage it when the two groups would inevitably meet. I was sort of shocked that you just went for the double roleplay and even more shocked that you just pulled it off like that. Playing a meeting of 8 or more characters dynamically with four people? It is just impressive!
Multiple factions, many fully realised npc’s and two parties wrapped into one campaign. You really are a top DM Monty. Astonishing work :) Great work by the cast too! So excited for s3
I just realized that the red light in Joe's room is Ingatius being lit up and is the indicator for Joe speaking as Pluto. What a subtle and amazing way of doing that.

After 2 months of binge watching I finally watched this one live! This is by far better than any show. I can’t express the anxiety and empathy I feel for these characters that you’ve all made feel so real! Great job everyone

@@jacktom3799 Check out High Rollers' Aerois campaign. The first campaign is not worthwhile. Aerois is C2 and is very good. Mark (Sherlock Humes) the DM is and excellent combo RPer and storywriter.

It was so adorable watching him and Kelly constantly switching to their other characters *ready to give them air time*, and then having to switch back because the other character was more relevant.
I'm following this journey since May 2018 on the Dungeon Dudes channel and can say I did indeed watch almost every video that is uploaded. So glad I found this channelback then and I can't wait to recieve the complete kickstarter package in a few months.
I came for the guides and stayed for the campaign. Love this channel - phenomenal

It's taken me over a year, but I'm finally caught up with this.
I originally looked up The Dungeon Dudes in preparation for running a one-shot for some new players, but I got into the absolute *magic* of Drakkenheim. You've kept me company and cheered me up during some pretty hard times over that period. I'm so incredibly proud of everyone involved with the book. To have such incredible success with a project like that would have been unheard of even a couple of years ago. Thank you for being such an inspiration, and for all the laughs and heartfelt moments. I can't *wait* for Season 3!
Love how Veo reprimands Willhelms cowardice running away and only coming back once the OG heroes have cleaned up the mess.. 😂😂😂.
Then Wilhelm like, "Ok but I'm gonna save Yohan Eisner" And Veo's like YEEEAAAAHHH

Writing it here cos I'm still stuck gleefully in the backlog but I think Monty is the best dm I've seen.
Not due to the massive and comprehensive worldbuilding although that is an amazing part. I think he makes an effort to make his players feel a part of a world as well as giving them treats that don't come often but always leave the players beaming and thus me beaming like a dickhead. Thanks Monty! There are times when this show is all I can tolerate of humanity 😂

Pluto's hand issue and wrath being a warlock can create a very funny dynamic within one player haha!!!
my personal highlights are (SPOILERS) the potential homie energy between pluto and wilhelm, wrath comically giving veo some fishfolk treats, the staring wizardry back and forth of seb and wrath, the little bit of rudi backstory (always nice).
also wrath may not be the arch mage of drakkenheim but it's a perfect fit for the spymaster with all the disguise/actor/infiltration tools that he has :0
in addition this was a perfect session, im amazed how well this was handled and it subverted my expectations :D
im so hyped for season 3, this series has a special place in my heart and can't wait!!!
I immediately thought of Spymaster Wrath too. He could learn a few things from the Queen of Thieves…
I love how Joe jumps with both feet into rp aspects, like his warlock/patron relationship and his permanent insanity with Pluto.
I like that Monty decided the players needed a taste of multiple characters at once
After binging this series currently in the end of 2023. This episode convinced me to buy the Drakkenheim book and extras.
I am going to miss new Drakkenheim anything videos over the holidays. You all produce a wonderful experience and I wish you all a most excellent holiday season.

6 characters 3 players is very rough, especially when there is roleplaying conflict between said characters. That said this was a great episode.

When Rudi mentioned that Wrath couldn't summon oars, Pluto should have mentioned that Sebastian can't send a message lol
The cute moment when Veo runs up to Wilhelm after he said he met her dad was really sweet and I never thought I would be so satisfied to see sebastian begging and grabbing at wilhelm for support lol 😆

I absolutely love the back-and-forth of roleplaying different characters, but honestly it got confusing at times... Maybe emphasizing the character shifts with costume changes (like the eye patch) would make it more clear, since sometimes the character titles lag on the screen. Another great session! I always look forward to Tuesday nights on twitch!
my only suggestion would be to follow the eye patch!

This was a fantastic episode! A great finale to this series and a lead-in to the next one. Everyone did such a good job. Playing two characters at once is not easy, but you all nailed it. Looking forward to seeing where this all goes

Every game from start to finish, is fantastic and always leaves me longing for the next episode. Everyone's role play is soooo good and I can't believe they played two roles so well. I'm curious if they are going to match the levels of both parties.
Random thought. After resolving the Drakkenheim... we start a brand new series in a new setting with Kelly as DM and Monty as player (just not as party caster. The Untold tales episode showed us Monty is scary good at battlefield control as a primary caster).
The last three episodes have been a MASTERPIECE! Everybody was outstanding, I couldn't stop watching!
Next year our favourite dungeon master will be starting off each episode as Dr. Monty Marten!

This was some of the best rp I have ever seen. Whenever someone asks who they should watch to learn DND I send them to you,the dudes. To many , myself including, you have touched the hearts and souls.

My table is going to run Drakkenheim in a few weeks. I'm so excited to be able to dive into a world you made me fall in love with. A dark, depressing,grim world but a world where I can see my players getting invested in.

I think that the Observatory is an interesting chip to use at the moment, the group could send the Silver Order around busting up different sections of delirium in the world. Honestly might be something that they might be willing to do as they currently have no idea how bad it is in Drakkenhiem, You know, why not have a few easier trial runs before the real thing?

Will the map of Westemar be on the final book? I would like to see the entire World of Drakkenheim.
Pretty sure Westimar is NOT featured in the book as the focus is directly on the city and the village outside the walls. Something for another kickstarter I guess. "Journeys in westimar"

So George, queen of thieves and wilhelm are all related with Pluto we need a family tree draw out on how they all connect.
I guess Von Kessels are basically the Hapsburgs whom did a lot of breeding with a lot of houses to gain influence, alliances and thrones. It also tracks as I think the Holy Roman Empire (confederation of medieval states) was probably an inspiration for Westernar. And the splitting of the dominant faith. Or I’m completely over thinking this. But also Prague a former Habsburg capital has an Astronomical Clock…

Man, finally caught up. It's been a wild ride! Thanks to all of you for putting this show on! From the DMing to the players roleplaying to Kyle running everything in the background, you all knock it out of the park! ? Can't wait for season 3!
I came here from Spotify to say, you guys are awesome. The visual transitions here _are_ useful, but even on the podcast, I had no trouble telling which character was speaking. I thought Mercer playing half of Vox Machina having a conversation with each other was impressive, but doing it in a quartet is even better.
I adore watching this group play D&D. The Drakkenheim setting is just wonderful (and I do LOVE the production quality on the book! TY!). Your ability to weave a coherent and engaging narrative through your play inspires me to make better games for my own table. After 100+ episodes (I have been watching the entire Drakkenheim saga in chronological order: Dungeons, Untold Tales, now Shadows) I am super excited to see what happens in the Fate! I expect it will be way bigger than ducks. Perhaps the shadowy cabal of Soul Shakers haunting Pluto will be revealed! ;)
Two great combos I look forward to seeing:
- Sebastian, Wrath, Rudi: all the spellcasting, all the time, and Rudi being motherly to Sebastian.
- Wilhelm, Pluto, Veo: a pure three musketeers team of ranged and melee fighting, with all of the royal prestige and comradery.
In particular, Pluto and Rudi together would be awesome. Two fighters spamming Shield (Pluto with his ring), I love it. Sebastian backing them up with buff spells to turn them into monstrous powerhouses would be the icing on the cake (spellcasters don't need to be buff-bots, it's just fun to see).

Great luck on the PhD. And awesome job on the multipersonality disorders. I have ran a session with players using 3 Characters but 1 of each of their characters were gonna die in a crazy way that leads the other 2 want to go on the quest. Then, each player went on 2 different story lines in the world basically being on 2 separate time lines and each story creates multiple outcomes near the end.

This session was great! The roleplay between each character from Drakkenforce and Duskwardens was so good. Would have been fun to see a bit more conversations between the two characters of one player, but that's difficult so I get why you generally avoided it. So hyped for season 3!

What I would like to see is a "Fall of Drakkenheim" campaign, set around the time the meteor fell.
Maybe starting in the days leading up to the meteor, and continuing during a time where the haze and delirium wasn't really understood, with no effective ways of protection against it.
A much more high-risk campaign without stuff like aqua-expurgo but it could be interesting to see Drakkenheim around the time the city fell.
That would be utter delightful chaos!
