And with all upgrades does add a lot of weight but haven’t had one issue and I’m gonna post some videos of it in action with all upgrades because it’s just a straight BEAST!!! I’m a mean to my rc’s as well cause I look forward to breaking em to fix em again.

Because that is a base entry level 2WD model there are no upgrades yet that are directly available from the factory.

Just received in mail, and when test fitting. It doesn’t line up to the frame! 🤬 bottom is the one not lining up to screw.

Not exactly 100% sure where you are talking about on the truck but try reaching out to our support team - they might be able to help. support@redcatracing.com

100% needs this.... this thing cannot turn a tight Circle to save its life but it's a great crawler just needs some upgrades there one out there it's aluminum but it's $30 from club5..... And do you have redcats flat skidplate 💯% no more bump to hangup on 😜

A possibility for sure. But the design serves it purpose on a general standpoint. There are some folks who want o get a little more "aggressive" and "competitive" with the design but sadly those are not necessary to make the rig a decent crawler out of the box like it is.

The gen 8 becomes a like 800 dollar truck with all the redcat aluminum. Then you are left with a really strong truck that still has weak portal top gears and many many weak undersized bearings. As soon as you add all that weight the plastic pin retained gears will start to become an issue as well. The plastic gears are really strong but the pins are small and much stronger. They can easily cut into the gear. After the extreme weight gain the incorrectly assembled out of phase drive shafts will become an issue and start to tear themselves apart at an accelerated rate. The driveshafts cannot be put in phase either due to their poor design. You literally have to be lottery lucky to get a gen 8 with all 3 axles assembled in phase at the factory.

If someone is going to put that much into their truck they would probably want to add the Chromoly drive shafts as well as any other steel or CNC'd part available direct of from 3rd parties. Which would handle much more stress with all the aluminum and such.
Not only that, drive shafts being out of phase on a scale crawler is hardly a concern as the effects of that process would not be as effective VS a full size vehicle or a RC vehicle which travels at a much higher rate of speed or with much higher RPM's. To date there is no model that has had any issues due to "drive shafts being out of phase" even on Gen8 models that have traveled over 100+ actual miles and more. Regardless of the torque produced by the system it practically has no effect the trucks drive train at all under normal driving circumstances.
