It does still exist, but I believe it's been V8-equipped and converted for drag race. Well, I just searched and found that it's being brought back to a land speed racer: www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,10876.150.html
Love the Mystic Purple Cobra paint 💜. I have an 87, money pit🤑, people don't understand why I keep fixing it, but when they go for a ride or drive her, the light comes on and a huge grin. It's half the handling and the awesome boost, turned up till they say, what's that Buzzer (over boost warning at 18 - 20lbs) balls of fun at 1/3 the HP of new breed 600hp cars and 1/4 the cyl, hope to get MC2 full suspension kit next😎
Love the nothing...nothing...nothing...LOCO! power band. I first drove one of these in 1985 while working at a Lincoln Mercury dealer, doing the new car prep. Later, I bought a dozen of them at auction from Ford Motor Credit. The original design valve seals would get hard and smoke, even at low mileage, so the other dealers were afraid the turbos were bad. Cheap fix. Every day, on the way to work, I would hit 120 mph on the interstate. These are great cars, with trademark German sport/luxury ergonomics. The stock brakes, however, are inadequate for even normal use. The front rotors are small and prone to warping. Upgrades to 4 wheel disc with larger front rotors are available. The stock suspension calibration is on the soft side, with skinny tires, swaying with over steer. O.K. for sport/luxury, but upgrades are available if desired. Rick's car has the SVO aluminum head, with high intake ports and large valves, and makes as much power as the stock block can handle (600 hp), before bore flex. The other limiting factor is the ring and pinion in the IRS, which appears to eventually break at around 500 hp.
Nice to still see this online.
I own a 85 xr4ti and this video is an inspiration
Had one of the last, 1989. Beautiful car, fun to drive, miss it.

I've got another video somewhere. I'll try to dig it out and upload it.
Looks like one of Jack Roush's engines which made 600-650hp that ran in SCCA and IMSA back in the day?
Safe enough for 200 mph hmmn thats great
This is like a Bigfoot video. You know its there, you can see something, you were told what it is but yet you can't quite make it out.
