  • This video is Part 1 of my two-part video visit to the famous Greenfield Village, adjacent to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan (near Detroit). This follows my two-part video walk-through to the Henry Ford Museum, which kicks off my week-long "Michigan & Ohio Museum Odyssey".
I follow this historic village's Part 1 & Part 2 videos with a visit to the National Museum of the Great Lakes on Toledo, before heading to other museums in Ohio.

Thank you for your walking tours of the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Very comprehensive. I work there in the mid and late 80s in high school and college. I have a channel I subscribe to in France that is interested in American culture and I will link your tours to her. The flowers you reference outside the Martha Mary Chapel are black eyed susans.

Not a bad collection of historical stuff from a guy who once stated “History is bunk.” Thank you for taking the time to video and edit these three museum odyssey videos. Very informative and a joy to watch.

Went on a school trip in the 70s laughed seeing it rain in your video because it was raining so much when we went we were only allowed to go to the museum and did not see the rest of the village.

Another great video, they need to amend they're information on the forge, Snowshill is just inside Gloucestershire, I lived a couple of miles down the road, in Ford, Gloucestershire, 6 miles away from Broadway, Worcestershire, snowshill is between the 2. Lovely area to visit if you've never been. I had to check to see if I'd remembered wrong. Keep up the good work, hopefully America will be back to normal so you can do more odyssey's. Thankfully I live in one of the few jurisdictions that is covid free now

With all due respect, the U.S. COVID numbers are politically motivated and grossly inaccurate. Every death here is registered as being caused by COVID, simply if any trace of COVID is found in the body. In other words, most people are dying WITH the virus, not OF the virus. The CDC estimates the current number of COVID-specific deaths at 12,000, which is less than a typical flu season. This election year insanity makes me wonder why we ever turned against King George.

@@gvs376 G vS, with all due respect, your logic on this is very wanting. You have no knowledge of how many people die from COVID, because that information is not reliably provided in a form that most people could make sense of. You present the notion that "every death...is registered as bring caused by COVID....if any trace of COVID is found in the body", and that is very easily disproved, and is not even close to being correct. I have enough knowledge of this subject to know that you are way off base on this subject.

@@youtuuba Yes, sir. This is exactly my point. The numbers have been completely blown out of proportion to the point where none of us know the truth.
According to our own CDC, some 347,000 Americans have been listed as COVID-19 deaths. However, in table 3 of their weekly provisional death counts, just 6% of these deaths are listed as COVID-only causes. The remaining 94% of deaths had some other serious underlying condition, and even some of those were questionable. I respect that engineers, such as yourself, would not have played so fast and loose with these numbers.
Here is the link to my source (scroll down to 'Comorbidities'):

@@gvs376 , while I am not an expert myself on "the numbers", I daily interface with several people who ARE familiar with the numbers, and what those numbers mean. It seems that few people die just from the Coronavirus; apparently most people who get infected can fight it off, just as with the flu and other 'bugs'. People with 'underlying conditions' are obviously more at risk, and are more likely than healthy people to succumb. The medical reports have to mention all perceived factors. But those people who have, for example, heart disease, and end up getting COVID and then dying......well, they died with COVID being the deciding factor...few would argue that. So at least some statistics consider those cases to be COVID-related, and thus those numbers look different from other statistics based on the same data.
But a major issue with COVID, and why we still have such a problem, is that not enough people take COVID seriously, and don't wear masks (or don't wear them properly, or wear inappropriate types of masks), don't wash their hands frequently, don't maintain social distancing, are putting themselves and others at increased risk, and contribute to the length of time it is taking for this pandemic to run its course.
It also is counterproductive to go around saying that the COVID numbers are misrepresented, or 'blown out of proportion'....there are far too many stupid or ignorant people in the world who will take those statements and conclude that there is no risk, and they don't need to take precautions.
