Just installed cadence 0 gauge wire and man I tell you what. BIG difference from the cheap walfail crap they have in there amp kit. Going to be doing the big 3 on my diesel with this 0 gauge. And replacing all batt wires with this 0 gauge.
Thank you for sharing this info just looked it up and right now 17 feet of the same wire is 27.00 free shipping :) thanks so much for helping me find cheap wire thats ofc and comp
Thanks man because of you i got this exact wire and it is great, got it all ready to solder up for the big 3 tomorrow morning. Then get a bigger amp for my HCCA and throw in my new kinetik!
welding cable is $1.75 per foot. rated at 105 degrees Celsius and ultra flexible. just need to seal cable at the lugs with heat shrink that has the glue coating inside and use closed end lugs.
I actually bought their amp kit and the power is really more like 2 gauge like you said, but the ground was a true zero. They both had the same print on the sides that said super flex 0 gauge
thats CCA lol, you want good 0FC , i looked around and checked actual wire size and not mostly jacket, go knu konceptz kolossus flekz, of all brands it was the largest actual wire i found, and is very flexible jacket, couldnt find a big 3 by them so i got the NVX ofc and that wire is surprisinlgy thick aswell. also got the knu RCA's and they are extremely nice. decent price on the knu konceptz stuff for ofc.
There is always something better!! Buy what you can afford then upgrade if needed.I just picked up a. 100 ft of XS power 1/0 for$300 it's 5250 strand CCA 100% OFC was $600 so it's a big difference in price between the two!
well i only needed 20 feet of 4 guage and the 1000W RMS amp is underneath my seat which i only had to make 2 10ft runs for positive and negative so i didn't spend too much...
Hey man, I enjoy your uploads and admire your enthusiasm. For reference though, without the UL listed stamp displayed on the wire sheathing, or in some form of literature. There is no applicable provisions that the wire manufacture has to abide by. Meaning- the specific grade of metal purity is not tested to a standard level. Another indication is the absence of the actual AWG mark located on the cable, and if it sometimes is there, then the circular mils rating may still be in question.
so do you think i could use this wire to do the big 3... and does anybody know where i could get a high amp alternator for a 95 chevy beretta 3.1 v6 ? thanks help is much appreciated
can u use 0 gauge wit any kind of amp or subs or do u need to hav it goin at a certain rms? i figured u could use it with any cuz its the lowest u can go and u could always upgrade subs and amps and just keep the same wiring but i wasnt sure so any help would be appreciated, thanks
Also on a second note the Cadence website has there wire measured and it comes out to 3 gauge. Cadence Is not a good brand anyway. Flea Market wire. Also the wire + the jacket on it comes out to almost getting close to 2 gauge.
Copper clad aluminum is more resistant than oxygen free copper. eBay sellers claim 250 A for copper clad aluminum when the national electric code says 120A. Oxygen free copper is rated at 150A. You have to remember any decimal of voltage drop on a car audio system at about 14.4VDC can me hundreds of watts in losses power due to losses and inefficiency.
Its copper clad aluminum wire bro. Its not garbage I've used CCA in installs before for people who aren't running gigantic systems that don't require much power, but depending on what kind of power your running there is a huge difference between CCA and OFC (oxygen free copper). CCA is for running at a maximum like 200-250 amps of power anything above that and you'll melt the wire and prob set your car on fire. OFC is rated for much higher power ratings. You pay more for OFC (obv) but in the long run its completely worth it. So 0 gauge thickness wise is 0 AWG yes, but there is a huge difference between different 0 gauges, so you really can't compare eBay bought Cadence 0 AWG CCA wire to Rockford Fosgate 0 AWG OFC wire. just saying lol.
copper clad means copper is on the outside of the aluminum. so the wire would look like copper. this cable is tinned which makes it also good for marine enviornment as it won't corrode as fast.
I like to use pure copper wire so I use welding wire. Cheapest is not best. LOL The wire he shows is copper clad. means copper plated aluminum wire. Thats why its so flexible. Its sucks I found that out. So get pure copper welding cable on ebay Remember use welding wire. See how this wire he has shines aluminum color on the end cut, because it is. Look at the end of it. It is only copper clad. Not trying to be mean but live and learn. I did this same thing you did man bought copper clad wire until I leaned the difference.
shartne welding wire is not pure copper as that does not in fact exist. The only real difference in welding wire and other wire is the cross section of finer strands to allow greater flexibility and movement without stressing the wire. Pure copper is a misnomer that is used too freely to sound informed. The highest grade of copper is not pure and the traces of items such as silver are included in the copper percentage of the wire.
I'm not knocking whatever you're running... but I just bought Pure OFC 1/0 AWG knu kit for under 100$ shipped. Granted it's the IXOS kit that's currently on closeout, but still ;)
You can get 50 ft of oversized 0 gauge wire from audio technix that has 5280 strand count i bet alot of money that rockford 0 gauge has anything on that. it's 140 bucks for 50 ft. this wire is rated at 300 amps that is more than enough for almost any setup very few alternators can even put out more than 300 amps!
They did switching from 4 gauge to 0guage really make a difference ? I just ordered some from that dude it's $27.99 for 17 feet what a friggin deal dude
TIP: OFC - Oxygen Free Copper and CCA - Copper Clad Alum are NOT the same. CCA is efficient to around 2/3 the power of OFC. Also, you did not state if your amp is class AB or D. I looked up the listing and it appears to be OFC copper. So if it is in fact OFC and a true 0G this is a great price. To all you guys searching, be sure you size your wire properly. OFC is what most charts use for calculating wire thickness.
The major thing to look for in any car wire is copper. 100% Oxygen Free Copper Clad Aluminum is not all copper wire! That just means the ALUMINUM strands are coated in a microscopic layer of OFC COPPER. Look at the cut ends of the wires, the inside of the strands has to be COPPER, higher end wire is coated in nickel or even silver(the actual metal silver), so it looks aluminum at first glance, but the CORE of each strand HAS TO BE COPPER.
+APBTisBeast CCA wire is inferior to solid copper or tin plated copper. That is not marketing, it is scientific fact. I am only telling you because perpetuating incorrect information helps no one.
I apologize in advance but you could not be more wrong if you tried. And if you are an electrical engineer you should absolutely know that. I will post openly the facts on this but sir, please, stop perpetuating false information.
+Nathan m CCA wire is not for smart shoppers, it is really quite the opposite. If you simply research it you will find that out. That is not opinion but pure 100% scientific fact.
Well... There is CCA, copper clad aluminum, what you have, which does NOT carry near the current that OFC carries. OFC : oxygen free copper carries more current. Thickness is NOT the only thing that matters. Do a test you’ll see CCA carries about 20% less current it’s cheap.
i just got awire from junkyard .zero guage.foind out civic hybrid has 3 zero guage wire from engine to trunk. plrnty long, aybe 10 feet. but was $3 a ft.not much deal.decent. maybe cheaper your local junkyard.
if you wanna talk about cheap with amazing wire thickness with thin jackets, look up knukonceptz but both these brands are cheap and does the job. Real Copper wire is needed when running a system over 5000 rms but for everyday use, you dont really need real copper wire, just thick true 0 gauge thickness ones are fine to power systems under 5000rms.
Just because it has a silvery look doesnt mean it CCA , your probably seing the nickle plating that they put on the copper to reduce oxidation, )Car Audio Wire - The Real Difference Between CCA and Pure Copper) search that youtube video to help you out, strands dont mean much but flexibility, its the thickness or the strands.
knukonceptz it's where it's at i compared my knukonceptz 4 guage OFC to a true 4AWG stranded pure copper wire that is got from an electrical supply shop (4/4 SOW Cord - look it up) and it matches or very slightly exceeds it is $1.55 per foot
You paid $2.29 per foot for that CCA looking wire.... The BEST you can get for Power wire is Monster Flux 1/0 gauge OR Welding cable 0 gauge for $2.50 a ft. pure 100% copper
damn.. lol well its not 2500 rms, but 2500watts.. still, pretty good. have u ever heard of Audio Technix .com? I checked their prices and they're cheaper.. I know a few people who run their 1/0 cable in competitions and they're really good. check out their site and click on the "order" link and it'll take u to their ebay store. plz lemme know what u think bro.
Everyone who is say that cca is no good are the ones with mega amp systems if cca is no good why do they use it in jumper cables I've used cca in a 2 amplifier system #1 amps that doesn't need high current can take this stuff one battery no cap just straight off the battery to the distribution block 1000 watts at 2 ohms and it's been in my car for 2 years never blew a fuse so of course people who need 2 or more battery to run their system can't use cca
I'm not hating at all man. It's just not real 0 gauge. In the video you say its flexible but when you let go it springs loose vs real copper would slowly unwind. I just dont want people to be mislead if your trying to persuade people to buy it say what it is. 0 Gauge thickness, Copper Clad Aluminum. I've owned the wire before to do a wire comparison test.
thicker the wire = more heat. wich leads to higher resistance. for power wire you want thickness. but as the thickness increases you want more strands. The best wire i have ever found is Elemental Design 1/0. its expensive. but at 5500 strand count and it being much thicker then the wire you just bought. its worth it.
aeen alot of people complaining about cca wire but do your research cca wire is acually 40percent more conductive then pure copper dummies do the research
cca trash the 4 gauge wire he had probably take 3 times copper copper copper people... copper clad aluminum is ok if its a good brand but takes at least 2 times the diameter of wire on a good day for power/amps this video pisses me off... good 0 gauge should be 3.50+ a foot cca 2.00+ a foot...its said people do research and don't learn anything an waste there money on less conductive wire thats will get hotter quicker i hope dude takes this video down everyone learns bro......
So he bought CCA? CCA is Copper Clad dude. That means the outside is copper coated and it looks copper. Does that wire look copper? No it doesn't. At the worst it's aluminum because the wire it self is silver in color.
It seems to me that the word "audio" is often used to bastardize electrical theory. Specialty "audio" wire suppliers can make all manner of claims, but "power transfer" -- as the maker of this video emphasizes -- comes down to theory that's been around since the early 19th century. If the source of power is stable, as in a 12VDC system, the only electrical factor that will greatly effect power transfer is resistance. Copper has a lower resistance value than aluminum and, based on what I'm seeing here and what I've read myself, the cable depicted in this video is copper clad aluminum (CCA). I'm sure that this cable works great, but, assuming that it is CCA cable, it can't possibly transfer power as well as pure copper cable…and please don't let anyone dazzle you with "skin effect" arguments. The sonic (audio) range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz (and most of us can't hear the upper end of the sonic frequency range), so skin effect is negligible. The title of the video is BEST & CHEAPEST ZERO 0 GAUGE WIRE. This wire may very well be cheaper, but it certainly isn't the "best" for power transfer.
Please don't get this wire I bought it and tested it it's junk . Gets super hot voltage drops almost immediately . Deff not putting out current like ofc will do .
You obviously dont know anything, you can easily run 2,500 watts off a stock alternators, i had a friend pushing a DC lvl 5 off a stock alt. And you can look up all the specks on it its not CCA, KnuKonceptz now that shits CCA, one again its not how many strands its the thickness.
It would be sooooo nice of those that come on claiming to know so much about stuff that truly doesn't exist or act intelligent about topics when in fact they're truly ignorant of the truth. Do your research about wire and then come tell me you are getting better audio or your car electrical works better through OFC wire and have tests that verify your statements. You won't because you can't even since high end conductivity testing by real high end laboratories show the top three grades of copper wire test identical. Worry about the correct gauge size and good quality insulation on the wire because your Ford Pinto will not know the difference!
I'll just say that anyone who buys this cable, or other cheap CCA, will likely find out for themselves the hard way, why this rubbish is inexpensive, and then wished they just skipped it and bought the pure copper stuff instead. Even welding cable is not that much more vs this crap, and you get pure copper wrapped in an insulator that will take abuse and typically is 105C+ rated. You can even buy it in blue if you wish.
There is actually no such thing as OFC or even pure copper because it's an impossibility with current purification technology. In audio usage, vehicle electrical systems and even welders, the conductivity tests are identical for all three major grades of copper wire! The only rubbish so far is your statement about the quality of copper wires. However, for industrial use, C10100 OFE copper is valued for purity and used for such applications as plasma deposition, semiconductor manufacture and particle accelerators. Education about such topics before playing naysayer in public leads to less self induced humiliation knowing others are rolling around laughing and pointing at your uninformed statements.
Stephen Cain Welding wire may not be pure but it has a lot of copper in it. And you sure dont want copper clad because thats just aluminum and you cannot solder it at all worth a flip. I will never buy anymore copper clad you can if you want to I say live and learn.
Make sure when you call someone out, you don't also make yourself look like a fool, "prununciate" isn't a word. Pronounce is the word you were looking for, smart guy ;)

Great video
but they should outlaw CCA WIRE
all i used is rockford fosgate its the best wire out there in my opinion. i love the stuff.
I am getting ready to have mine done with Rockfordfosgate 0 guage I think it would be just as good .
but the knuconceptz arent 0 gauge its actually bigger, i had a hard time fitting it on my amp which required 0 gauge.
hey quick question im looking to get the 4 guage wire but what is the difference between the cadence 4g30 wire and 4g150 wire ????
There is always something better!! Buy what you can afford then upgrade if needed.I just picked up a. 100 ft of XS power 1/0 for$300 it's 5250 strand CCA 100% OFC was $600 so it's a big difference in price between the two!
measure it is it really 0awg if so it the bare conductor will be 0.325 inches in diameter which is just larger then 10/32's.
well i only needed 20 feet of 4 guage and the 1000W RMS amp is underneath my seat which i only had to make 2 10ft runs for positive and negative so i didn't spend too much...

Is there any brand of 0000 AWG wire? Also are there any banana plus for this hi-end cables and their thickness?
KnuKonceptz makes a 4/0 OFC wire. Around $7 a foot. And Sky High Car Audio makes over sized 2/0 with all kinds of copper lugs
does this have any aluminum in it or is it 100% copper?
the KnuKonceptz kca wire is only 1.74$ a foot so for 17 foot its only 29.58$
you say all that matters is thickness. but what really matters is the material that its made out of
Maybe if you double up the runs. By itself it should be banned.
no voltage drop or lights dimming on 2500watts? how big is ur stock alternator?

would rater get AWG then gauge because you never know what you are getting with gauge rating

i got some bullz.and i dont care what ppl say . mine wouldnt even fit inside the 0 gauge terminal..this stuff is big..that looks nice too
Looks like junk cca wire
Cca is for cheap bitches
+APBTisBeast CCA wire is inferior to solid copper or tin plated copper. That is not marketing, it is scientific fact. I am only telling you because perpetuating incorrect information helps no one.

i do 143.5 with 1.2k on 2 8" on true copper

It's maybe aluminum over copper aoc
i just got awire from junkyard .zero guage.foind out civic hybrid has 3 zero guage wire from engine to trunk. plrnty long, aybe 10 feet. but was $3 a ft.not much deal.decent. maybe cheaper your local junkyard.
I'm running that same 0 gauge in my blazer.

knukonceptz it's where it's at i compared my knukonceptz 4 guage OFC to a true 4AWG stranded pure copper wire that is got from an electrical supply shop (4/4 SOW Cord - look it up) and it matches or very slightly exceeds
it is $1.55 per foot
lol this dwight cain guy haha, run a resistance test. pretty stark difference)
i think he was talking bout ALI SPENDING 250 FOR HIS KIT NOT YOU LOL BUT LOOKING GOOD
Material also maters. Look t
Gonna hit the junkyard for some I guess.
You paid $2.29 per foot for that CCA looking wire.... The BEST you can get for Power wire is Monster Flux 1/0 gauge OR Welding cable 0 gauge for $2.50 a ft. pure 100% copper

SHOK INDUSTRIES LOOK IT UP>>>BEST WIRE HANDS DOWN>
Best zero gauge? thats CCA bro. 2 GA OFC wire carries more current
I believe it.... you got 60% rubber and 40% copper..... lol
Looks like 4
alright was just makin sure lol
ahahaaaa this is perfect for what ive been after for ages :p
This Garbage is copper clad aluminum. Always get OFC. Pay the extra. Dont cheap out on the power line.
Tell them again
You obviously dont know anything, you can easily run 2,500 watts off a stock alternators, i had a friend pushing a DC lvl 5 off a stock alt. And you can look up all the specks on it its not CCA, KnuKonceptz now that shits CCA, one again its not how many strands its the thickness.

lol i could tie this with one hand if i did not have the camera in my other hand lol lol
2500 Watts on a stock alternator. Your argument just collapsed on itself.
I ran a Banda 7K for a minute on a stock alternator but I guess I did have 8 northstare batteries holding up out back, lol!!!
LOL you bought CCA..... you got ripped.

Welding wire may not be pure but it has a lot of copper in it. And you sure dont want copper clad because thats just aluminum and you cannot solder it at all worth a flip. I will never buy anymore copper clad you can if you want to I say live and learn.
Acts like he knows everything about wire.... And he miss prununciates the company's name lol smh.
Make sure when you call someone out, you don't also make yourself look like a fool, "prununciate" isn't a word. Pronounce is the word you were looking for, smart guy ;)
lol failed at being a smart ass
