I implemented a number of your frequent workflow suggestions into my own workflow, and I just have to say that the increase in productivity and creativity is noticeably significant! Thanks for yet another great resource. Enjoy the coffee today!
MPC 3.0 Honestly, I think 3.0 is cool. It’s a welcomed solid update overall. I believe its was good of Akai to put this update out free of charge. It keeps the community excited, engaged and inspired! When this generation of MPC’s dropped back in 2017 it was pretty monumental. The shift to hybrid was genius. The X and the Live have both been a huge success and overall a game changer to be fair. These machines are loved. But with that, they are getting to the end of their shelf life now and do need an update IMHO. I love limitations like most others, but when you can see what could be done in the future it’s exciting. I feel it’s time for them to update the hardware and implement the OS completely from the ground up. Faster processor, more on-board ram, enhanced I/O ect. I’d certainly pay for that over a re-dressed MPC SE.. imagine having a higher ceiling with audio tracks in standalone? Or maybe the built in instruments. These machines are nearly 7 years old now. Other than disk streaming, there’s nothing really new here other than a more streamlined workflow and the arranger… Which is awesome by the way! Very easy to use and gets it done! People have cried about the sound quality of the current machines and I don’t disagree at all. These units just don’t sound like the legacy MPC’s and if you’ve ever owned one you’d certainly know. I think the next move from Akai is to make a hybrid, hybrid- with standalone/controller capability and hybrid LoFi/HiFi option kinda like the Isla S2400. Imagine that!! Let’s be real… The current vintage built in effects are just the AiR plug-ins in disguise with a different name and GUI.. applying AiR processing, filtering, EQ compression ect. They don’t sound authentic to me. Nothing against AiR plug-ins. Akai Give us back the real MPC sound!! Get Rodger Linn involved. The man’s a living legend and started it ALL. He helped define how music was made, opened up creative possibilities and above all made it fun at the same time. Give him his flowers, a monster contract have him design the circuitry and help with the hardware of the future!! One last hurrah if you will. Most would love the modern workflow with the vintage sound with that distinct color and thump! Imagine how much money they could make? Love the channel BTW! Great content! No fluff, no sales pitch, marketing or other BS just great educational videos nice freebies and fair reviews of products. I enjoy watching. Keep rockin man! Peace to all.
@@billB101 I’m finding that say I’m using a low pass 4 at 32hz I’m still getting some high frequencies come through. And when applying the lfo on one shot to the filter level it lets higher frequencies through after the one shot
@@SeymourScagnetti The slope looks like it's about 6db/oct on LP4 so it'll still let high frequencies through for sure, even at 100%. You need something like 18db/oct to start properly cutting it out. You could always use another filter after the plugin.
Thanks for making this video on our request Conan 🙏🏾 Much appreciated. I would like to know if you have a template approach for your drum group (with select drum samples, routing & FX). It would be nice if you could do a video on this. Have a great day!
Thanks Conan, a gain staging video would be so helpful when you get the chance. You have the channels at -6 but it’d be good to see what you have the individual pad volumes at and know what you’re hitting the main outs at. That’s something that always confused me anyway
Hey mate, yes that is on my list. I have been asked quite a few times. I meant to do one this week, but the update came out so I was focused on that. Coming soon though, definitely.
Nice point with having the template setup i agree efficiency is the key less to worry about later. I need to do that later today 😅 and stop procrastinating about it . Thanks for that 👏🏾✌🏾
Noticed this... if you change Menu / Preferences / PROJECT LOAD/SAVE /NEW PROJECT BEHAVIOR from Factory Default to User Auto Load Project it loads the new project with the User Template! So New Project works, I think.
Just be careful with it on your masterbuss if you are considering sending it to be mastered. It’s very easy to crush the dynamics. Of course, if it sounds good, then ignore what I just said haha
My Tascam DP-24 has an EQ and Multiband Compressor in its mastering section. I’m going to set up a template similar to that in my MPC and see if I can get the same results because I really like the sound of my Tascam. With the tools included in the MPC I can probably get a BETTER result!
@@TheCratesMotel I watched your multiband workaround video and that’s gonna help a ton. And yeah my Tascam has the cd drive as well and there’s just something about music on a physical medium that I still prefer. When I record my music in it and put them on cd it just sounds fatter. I still have a cd player in my truck.
I use the MPC as an audio through to my speakers every time I boot up my PC so I can always quickly start making music. The problem with MPC 3.0 though is that you can't save a single audiotrack with monitoring set to "in" as a startup template. Because every time you boot up your MPC it will then start with a drumprogram track that has magically been added to your single audio track. Which is just very annoying.
Looking forward to the gain staging video, mixng/mastering is something I am heavily researching right now. A video for some of us who have never mixed before or maybe dont really know the rules would love that.
Great value here, that's very generous of you, Conan. You are currently setting the new benchmark for quality MPC content for all of TH-cam, mate 💪
Thanks mate I appreciate the comment and support.
Such a blessing to have all these elements already there to catch your flaws
This is the style. Thank you. I will expect to see a similar video on the usual suspects channels in the next few days hahaha
Haha yes perhaps. We shall see.

Hi Conan just downloaded your free template and had to say "Thank you" I'm a big fan of your channel so much great advice and very much appreciated
You’re welcome mate. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Hi, would love to see a sub factory review. I *think* I’m having problems with the filter not working properly!
Ok noted dude
I have sub factory. the filter doesn't work on the S ( sub ) output, it's just clean. Works on A and B outputs no problem though.

I need to learn how to use templates. I'm always setting up everything from the beginning and at the end I just forget what I was doing. : P
They’re such a time saver mate. Get on it. 🙏🏼
Danke
You’re welcome 🙏🏼
Nice, I prefer to use the Air softclipper on my masterbus rather than the saturator. Also have it on a couple of my sub mixes.

U said ur using this template for house music could this be used for hiphop and just adjust the tempo and bars for my set up?

There you go mate. I can’t guarantee they’re still available.
I have a question for you, when you are using the MPC 2.15 in standalone mode, do you ever get maxed out on memory using the stock plugins ?
Honestly. Never. If you’re careful with what you use etc
@@TheCratesMotel I appreciate your feedback. Do you think you will convert to 3.0 fully ?
@@deebaker4671 Yes definitely. Over the last 35 years of using MPCs I’ve seen so many changes. This is just the next phase I guess.

Should i get 3.0????????
It’s easy enough to roll back to 2.15 so you might as well try it out for an hour or two.
