I remember during my studies in Australia in 2015, I was so depressed and lonely since I lived there alone. I saw your album "The Best Reminiscent " in one of the music stores in Sydney. I bought a copy and from then on, your music became an inspiration to me. Listening to it relaxes me and somehow helped me a lot to overcome my loneliness. Please continue playing beautiful music and thank you very much for sharing your wonderful talent to us. More power to you and keep it up...
Your story is pretty much the same as mine, back in 2014 when I started my study in the UK, I still remember during the sorrow night in the 14 hrs flight, I listened to Yiruma's album in the flight entertainment and fell in love with the song Chaconne and Tears on Love, the melancholic music really touch my heart as I was leaving thousands of miles away from my hometown, family and friends. Everytime I listen to these songs, it reminds me back in the UK

I still remember the time I opened a shrink-wrapped cd case of your album('From The Yellow Room' released in 2003 when I was 18). Feeling distressed about the uncertain future, I relied on your music which helped me to avoid dwelling things out of a control. Especially for me, your new album is a way of linking the past to the present. Thanks for posting your new release on youtube.

제가 재밌는 얘기 하나 해보겠습니다.
저는 이루마님을 처음 뵌게 08년 8월 해군 훈련소에서의 강연때였습니다. 그때 당시 저는 훈련병이었고(546기) 이루마님은 전역을 앞둔 병장이셨습니다. 훈련병들을 위해 군생활 조언도 해주시고 실무에서의 에피소드도 얘기해주셨습니다. (지금 기억나는건 본인보다 한참 나이 적은 선임무릎에 누워서 귀청소 받은 얘기ㅋㅋㅋ) 사인시디였었나 이루마님께서 직접 선물도 나눠주셨는데 여러명이 손을 들었지만 손든채 주먹을 쥐었다 폈다 한 훈병이 눈에띄어 선물을 받아갔었던 기억도 납니다. 강연장에는 피아노가 없어서 혹시나 했는데 교육사 교회에서 연주도 들을 수 있어서 영광이었습니다. 이루마님께서 연설을 마칠때 사회에 나와서 혹시나 본인과 마주친다면 그 자리에 있었다고 말해달라고 하셔서 꼭 그리하리라 다짐하고 무탈하게 군생활을 마쳤습니다.
군생활을 마치자마자 저는 바로 전역전부터 준비해왔던 영국으로의 유학을 떠났습니다. 1년간 영국 시골에서 입시를 준비하고 저는 런던에 있는 모 대학으로 진학했습니다. 이루마님이 킹스컬리지를 다니신지는 런던으로 학교를 다니면서 주변친구들에게들어서 알게되었고 훈련소때의 에피소드를 자랑삼아 친구들에게 얘기하곤 했습니다.
그렇게 학교생활을 하던중 (아마도)2012년 학기초 어느날 저는 Tottenham Court Road 역앞에서 1차로 술을 거나하게 먹은 뒤 다른 친구들을 보러 근처인 SOHO 쪽에 있는 지하의 한국술집으로 갔습니다. 친구들과 즐겁게 2차를 한 뒤 집에가기 전에 한 친구가 저에게 말을하더라구요. 니 옆테이블있던 모자달린 백팩 맨사람(가방에 대한 기억은 흐릿합니다.) 이루마인데 못봤냐고..... 전 술이 번쩍 깼습니다. 제가 이루마님 강연 듣고 군생활 잘 마칠 수 있었단 감사인사를 할 기회를 바로 코앞에서 놓쳐버렸기 때문입니다. 그 술집은 지하인데다가 조명도 밝지 않았고 1차때 이미 취해버린 저는 옆자리에 누가 앉아있었는지 알아보기도 힘들었습니다. 게다가 제친구들은 이미 제가 합류하기 전에 이루마님과 인사하고 사진도 다 찍어서 술집안에서 동요하는 모습은 없었습니다ㅜㅜ 다음날 친구들이 페이스북에 사진 올린거 보고 얼마나 아쉬웠는지....ㅋㅋㅋ 그때의 아쉬움이 아직도 남아서 골든디스크에 사연도 보낼걸 미루고 미루다가 이제서야 여기 댓글로 남깁니다.
그때나 지금이나 좋은음악 만들어주셔서 감사합니다.

I have been inspired by your music since I can’t remember when. I was studying a master degree in the UK in 2003 and your music helped me survive the cold lonely winter there.
I started to play piano as a hobby when coming back to my country, just to bring out your melody with my own fingers. The piece I really like is “Reminiscent”. Would be great to know how did you come up with that beautiful music.

Thank you Mr. YIRUMA 이루마 씨, for your soulful and tasteful music that heals my soul. When i was pregnant with my 2 sons, i often place your music in my womb so that they can relax everytime they kick and punch my belly.
Your songs were also their lullaby songs when they sleep. It also my continuous medication( along with Gospel songs) until now when my mind is struggling to collapse.. God uses you to be the healing instrument of the all people around the world.. u know, people of different races, have different cultural, political, ethnic, and faith views but through your music, you made them to unite and connect with your soothing and beautiful arrangement of songs..
