- Join us for a tour of Interior Stateroom 11279 on board Carnival Celebration. The first part of the tour is a bit hard to watch back based on some things we discovered in the room…
Cruise Tip 1: Always pack your travel disinfectant wipes. You can pick up a set here:
amzn.to/3SN1kWA (Clorox brand)
amzn.to/43IC89q (Lysol brand)
But at the end of our 7 day cruise, we provide our final thoughts and verdict on the room to help you decide whether or not you should consider stateroom 11279.
Cruise Tip 2: We also recommend you pick up a sleep mask for this stateroom. You can find a variety of price points; here are two of our favorites (we’ve used both):

We’ve sailed Carnival Celebration several times. In fact, we’ve sailed on every Excel-class ship Carnival Cruise Line has launched to date. Across our sailings, we’ve booked a variety of room types from interior staterooms, to balconies - and we’ve toured many other category types on the ship. That means we can answer questions, provide suggestions, and even tell you which rooms to avoid. Just drop a note in the comments below and we’ll be happy to answer!
For Stateroom 11279, find out why we particularly like about this room and why we’d recommend booking it on Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, or Carnival Jubilee. And let us know if you’ve booked a similar room and what you thought!

🤢 I would personally ask for a room re clean... But that's just me. But the room is decent! Thanks for the tour!!
I know I would. It's not my job. My job is to have fun.
We know the cabin stewards/esses are assigned more cabins now than they were pre-pandemic. We bring our wipes on every cruise in anticipation of a dirty room. It’s sad that they aren’t given the resources to complete their job on a consistent basis.
It’s true. We still managed to have a great cruise!
Ewwww. Same experience last weekend on balcony Carnival Radiance. Room was pretty nasty. Especially the couch. #carnival
I’m so sorry to hear you also had that experience. It really starts the trip off on a sour note. Thankfully, once we cleaned everything up, we didn’t have to think about it again the rest of the sailing, but definitely shouldn’t have to do that in the first place. As for a dirty couch… you’re kind of stuck with that. 🤢 Hopefully, that was an anomaly in your cruises like it was for us?
WOW, I don't think I've ever walked into a cabin and had it be that dirty. That's crazy. I still use my wipes, but that was just over the top. I'd ask for a re-do but honestly, I'd do a better job myself anyway. I think I'd be worried about the sheets. You're right though, this is Carnival's fault for short staffing them, not the stewards. Not many people go to work trying to do a bad job.
That's a great perspective! We know it isn't easy to turn around that many cabins in such a short amount of time which is why we always pack the backups (Chlorox wipes). It wasn't a deal-breaker for us and we loved the location.
Hey guys! Wow the uncleanliness right off the bat doesn’t speak well for the room stewards. I’m not an interior sailor, but if I were the room is pretty cool. I was the first 👍! My personal milestone! ❤🎉😂 LOL I love going to the gym/spa to shower too!!!
We love the amount of storage that was available in this cabin. Really made it easy to unpack, aside from the unkempt appearance.
So did you have your room steward come back to properly clean up? Not acceptable and cleaning is one thing they should not be cutting back on 😕.
We did not. Fortunately we brought enough disinfecting wipes that we were able to get the room cleaned to our standards. The room stewards are over worked across many of the cruise lines and while it’s disappointing, we understand the situation.
I hope you called someone to clean again. Maybe Carnival is going downhill? :( yuck
We didn’t. We always come prepared with disinfecting wipes just to be safe. It’s truly unfortunate that we had to do that, but we’re know the crew are over-worked in some situations.
Thank you for your video!
I have found that anytime I book an interior stateroom I get a more “reduced” service experience from the room steward. This has been consistent for me regardless of ship. We stay in a multiple array of types of cabins and the service is consistently less in the interior cabin.
Have you experienced this as well?
We hadn’t noticed this in the past, but will pay more attention to it. Not sure why there would be different detail as the gratuities are the same. Only difference is cabin size.
@@thiscruiselife agree. One time in an interior on Carnival I asked for a box of tissues because we had none and the room steward said they had cut back and didn’t have any. But others onboard across the hallway in balcony rooms had tissues. Just odd stuff like that.
@@tammyjohnson6822 oh no! That is definitely odd! Thankfully, we’ve been very fortunate over the years with fantastic service. We always ask for a bucket of ice and never had an issue; always have ice in the room. On Conquest, our steward would stop by every night before his shift was done just to make sure the ice was topped off! This was in addition to him filling it when he serviced the room. As Rocky said, we’ll definitely pay closer attention going forward. Thanks for sharing your experience!! -mark
@@tammyjohnson6822 oh wow! That’s strange. Can’t say we’ve ever heard that one before. Hopefully your next cruise will be a better experience, especially if you’re booked in an interior cabin.
I always wipe down ship cabins and hotel rooms as soon as I arrive. We sailed on Jubilee’s fourth sailing, and my wipe came away with dust and a little bit of dirt. With corporations cutting back on employees I don’t see how stewards have enough time to clean really well on turnaround day.
Right! They have such a short along of time to turn it over and if several guests are messy, it impacts all the other rooms in their area.
Ooh! I like the stateroom!! Cool layout! Looking great, guys! 😊
Hey thanks! We love those square interiors!
