    I began watching the "iron wolf" youtube channel a few years ago to get me into shape at the age of 50. He routinely does 500 to 1000 burpees in different variations. The navy seal variation is a killer.

    You deserve to have fun with doing other sports because of the extreme hard work you've put in to be in extreme physical (mental) shape. After all, it shows how your training truly can translate to doing FUNCTIONAL life activities. Bravo Kristi!
    On another note, can't tell you how happy I was to not only see you finish one of the events in 3rd place but hear the announcer say your name twice actually and when the announcer mentioned how well of a runner you are. Keep inspiring us and pls stay as positive as you are!

    this is what I love about burpees, you can just keep going and going and going. I get absolutely ripped doing this kind of stuff compared to lifting weights. great job, I love how you touched on the mental part of breaking it up into smaller increments and not stopping until you hit that goal number, I try to teach my boxers this and it's awesome when I rope them into one of my burpee workouts just how far they end up going

    Yes! I have also done the 1000 Burpees challenge. I did 20 sets of 50 and it took 1 hour and 47 minutes. I did feel pain in my shoulders but it did help to vary how I positioned the hands in push-up phase. After having "only" having 300 left I felt a lof of pain in my right hip so I started to do a split-burpee variation which made me get through. So my advice if you are not very fit is to try to do small variations in your burpees to avoid the same repetetive load on your body.

    I got to see you and Pat, but I just stayed in my lane. You guys looked so focused, and with good reason. I think IBEX is the true deal. What you have done season after season is truly a testament of your program and commitment. Congrats once again!!!!

    This is awesome. I know exactly how you were feeling and thinking. I did 343 burpees for 9/11 and at 54 I was definitely wording if I would finish, but the reason for doing them was motivating.

    Thats awesome!! A bit crazy, but still awesome. May have to do this at some point with my workout Buddy. He will hate me and then you. I’ve got him watching all your videos…. My husband and I learned how to play pickle ball last year and it’s so fun. But i did pull a hammie playing lol. Too competitive…. But fun. Took 2 days to recover. Have to ask… how long did it take Pat to bike a 1000 cals??? Thanks for your videos and I’m always looking forward to your next ones

    I have done 1000 burpees twice in my life. Both for charity. I definitely was exhausted afterwards and for the next few days. Way to crush it!

    Great to see someone set a challenge and achieve it!
    To be honest, I am getting to grips with the definition of a "burpee". There are strict military style with no jump, but heavy on the push up which is a strict push up. The burpees shown here do incorporate a slight jump, but the push ups section is significantly easier supported by the person being on their knees partially in that movement - so a modified push up. So I suppose these are "modified" burpees, but then the military ones should have a jump. Hey it's all good though!

    I'm doing the 5k challenge at level 1. My 5k is improving every time I run so far. I don't expect that to happen every time. Last night was the best run I've had in a long time! Thanks for the fun challenge. It gave me the push I needed.

    I loved Crossfit for the 2-3 years I was able to do it. Then came the hurt shoulder from kipping, hurt back from fast deadlifts, hurt knees from box jumps and hurt ankle from double ups. Biking, traditional HIIT, Pilates, and normal body weight exercises without the performance enhancing "supplements" is the new routine and my body is loving it.

    Hi Kristi, Can you do fun challenges with other CrossFit women? Such as Hanging (who hangs on a pull up bar longest) or Tug of War or Arm Wrestling :D These strength challenges for fun are getting popular on TH-cam.

    Would you recommend an EMOM format or blocks of a certain number then resting?
    I was thinking of an EMOM 12 per minute, but not sure if its a good idea :))
    Any feedback?

      What I'd do is an hour of straight, strict burpees to gauge your minute average, as personally I believe this distance accurately measures endurance. From there, pace yourself a little under your minute average from the 1 hour into the full 1000.
      Form cant suffer. Dont go for speed, smooth is fast. No doing the worm, every rep is clean start to finish.

    6 years ago I ran 3.5 miles to a field & did 50 sets decending (1275) then ran back home, 4 years ago on my 47th birthday I did 250 minutes non-stop. No idea how many but in 50 min I can get 400-450.
    I restarted high volume after I broke my foot the day after Christmas & can no longer run because of nerve damage.

    Olá, também já fiz este desafio 1000 burpees em 1 hora e 32 min, o primeiro WOD de 2021. Fiz sempre em unidades de 100, parava e bebia um pouco de água. O Pior foi chegar aos 700, de pois, foi sempre a descer. Mas foi muito duro, principalmente do ponto de vista psicológico

      Ive done 1000 dips o a couple of time, also done 1000 squats in one go and done 1000 push ups before but 1000 burpees will be the hardest of the challenegs. Done 500 burpees on 2 occasions

We started playing pickleball together last summer and have fallen in love with it! We play as much pickleball as we train these days. It’s a nice de-load from the more intense training.

    I did 2000 burpees over 4 hours once in "one sitting". It was the worst decision I've ever made. At least it was for charity lol

    I felt bad because my alltime record as a male is just 45(!) burpees. But then i saw, what you mean by "burpee" and sorry, this is not as much as impressive as i thought at frist: A burpee to me is a correct pushup followed by a squad and then a strong, high(!) jump. Not just a raise of your body.
    I do not know if i could do a 1.000 of this fast. But i promise, as a not too much trained person, i could easily perform over 100 in less then 6 minutes.

    Yeah but neither of y'all actually did a push up that's just the standard burpee still impressive but adding a push up is called a 1 pump

      I guess that is the sad part of burpees game. People claiming having done 1000+ burpees but with 0 push-ups, they'd see burpees differently if they executed proper 1 pump.
      But it's crossfit inducing people to have a bad form to hit high numbers fast, or how to get injured.
      Did 500 1 pump twice in my life and it really sucked, but strengthening experience for sure

I've been rocking the September challenge and being consistent for almost 2 years now, and you can honestly get to the 500 within a year of training. It becomes all mental at a certain point! Keep rocking it we are not working out alone!

    Stress is stress. There is a hormetic effect to working out, no doubt.
    Working out like this, though, is NOT good for you.
    Not that it matters or anyone cares. Just thought I’d point out. Exhaustive training like this is in no way good for you
