This is one of my favorite ones! Just the basics, exactly what you need. Nice and rustic looking, with that barnwood. Takes it further away from the skeptics' claim that Tiny Houses are just basically trailers or modulars made of wood-- this is much further from a modern box of plastic. It's a creation! Have a great life in and out of your barnwood nest!
Such a nice couple, adorable dog, and beautiful tiny home. Love the rustic look and the outdoor living space nestled in the trees! Thanks for the tour!
That patio section is perfect for adding a Florida room type renovation. Frame up and roof with corrugated fiberglass sheets, lock in removable purple foam panels for the walls with window frames. Screen for summer put panels in for colder rainy weather and doubles living space at the same time. I love tiny home designs because theyre all easily modified and expanded with time and recognized needs.
I love their home! It's so cozy, and that deck is amazing surrounded by that beautiful wooded area. They seem like such nice, happy people. Thanks for showing!
What a beautiful exterior with the barnboard and the rusting metal. I love the look. And with that spacious deck - soon to be even MORE spacious - under the trees, wow. What an idyllic situation. I live in Canada but drove through Tennessee on a bus many years ago and thought it was just the most beautiful state. Randy Jones is making life great for so many people. Mary, you have such a lovely, warm personality!

Having a 10 foot versus 8 foot wide tiny makes such a difference. I get it is easier to move. This home is charming for sure, just think for others watching, to consider the option.
One big difference...is moving an 8' home. It's a lot easier and a lot less hassle. I suppose if one is never going to move it a 10' wide is fine. Heck if one's builder is close (& no bridged or over passes in between, one could build a whole second story with room to stand up.
@@RevdUp.Art.Fotografer As I said in my comment, I get it is easier to move. But once it is in place and for a couple like this that looks like they are very connected to the place they have moved to, that extra two feet width makes a huge difference in how the space feels and how two people move around it. This couple is clearly very happy. Two extra feet and high ceilings makes a space feel significantly more spacious.
What a beautiful and cozy home. Home being the operative word. You really get a good sense of who they are and it how works perfect for them. Lovely couple 😊
I almost always say I could live in a TH by myself but not this one . Way too small though even for one . I admire that they can do this. Lovely couple !
They need to take out two trees. The one by the deck is too close to the house and will cause problems as it matures; and the second one at the back end of the house because it's leaning towards the house and is a fall hazard.
@@cherylrichards8951 You might be right about the fall hazard, but the other one? Keep in mind this is a tiny house. It's not on a foundation and can be moved, so the tree will not threaten the foundation and if the caliper starts abutting the siding they can move the house a few inches, probably without even needing to rejigger the interface with the deck all that much.
Yeah, it’s kind of funny. My wife wanted to build onto our house now that the kids are gone. This house is plenty big and it’s just under 2000 ft.² and we have an 850 ft.² Deck on top of a mountain in California but your little shack looks great and I agree with you putting that deck around the side that’ll open that up so much . Quite amazing.
Love this little nest and like them, the deck. As soon as I saw that I was almost jealous. Beautiful lot and I would expand the deck too! I would prefer maybe about a foot worth of space around the bed. Only because it doesn’t look like you can walk around it to make it up. I have a bed jammed into a corner now and I really don’t care for it. But other than that it’s adorable! If you can get ahold of them you should check out the 1987 Unimog that “Our Way to Roam” built out and turned into a tiny home on wheels. Drew and Savannah did all the work themselves after purchasing what was once an old ambulance. It’s still got some camo paint on it and they had the box built and put on the back before they took delivery. It is so cute and homey. They were recently out around the Grand Canyon so you’d have to chase them down there. The
Very nice location. I always say if your building for yourself than make everything big enough for 2 tall people. If you're building for you and a spouse, make everything big enough for 3 tall people. That way when you have a dog and a spouse you feel like it's just right. When they're not in the space, you'll feel like your in a Castle❤😅
Beautiful Couple in a fabulous Self build tiny Home. I love it and I must confess We definitely do not need to live in a mansion. Living the outdoor Life touching nature is so much more appealing. Extending the decking down the side will give greater scope. I must say well done to You.
I would build one somewhat like this I thought about building one of these in a pole barn or something and thought about using it to construct a tiny home inside be out of the weather and when finished haul it on my property . Code is the first thing I would have to clear it with and have a proper well and septic system. Nice in the country under trees as long as the trees are healthy. 73
That’s a SHED not a home. No way that should have cost 28k to build PLUS no land..it’s rented sitting next to a bunch of other renters. They probably will never see the return on purchase & I can’t see elderly people living like that with walkers and mobility issues.
What kind of ventilation do these have? I know if my H uses the toilet, that entire cabin is off limits for awhile… so if it’s cold outside, there would be no escape! Don’t say candles and spray, I need real answers please. What if company comes over? Not sure even that porch is far enough, sometimes. So… air exchange, ventilation (besides, who wants their clothes smelling like cooking?) ?
"Save a ton of money"? Maybe when these folks moved in, but now you have to give them a 15K - 30K key payment to move in, money that you give them for the privilege of living there. Maybe in 5 years you'll end up "saving a ton on money", if you live or stay that long.

A ten by ten gazebo on the deck would add another good sized living room. 👍👍😀

NO! Don't take any trees out for a deck! Just cut the deck around the tree trunks and keep all that lovely shade.
They need to take out two trees. The one by the deck is too close to the house and will cause problems as it matures; and the second one at the back end of the house because it's leaning towards the house and is a fall hazard.
