Its amazing how they went from making lore through game to making game through lore......the new updates like kay/o , fracture , yoru's arrival easters, ALL of kay/o's voicelines and even his youtube first look video and probably more have been FIRST thought-of about the lore and then fitting into gameplay.....more agents, voicelines, easters, agent videos and maps to come like this ....

Okay, if I'm being honest, the whole "why do they look like us" line that basically explains in-game that it's parallel realities and why you can have two characters against each other is pretty unique for an arena shooter. The ideas not unique but incorporating it into a game that by any means could get away with not needing to explain and justify it, that is appreciated.

I like the fact that the cinematics even show the red/yellow/purple highlights we see on the enemy during game. So even that is canon. Makes the cinematic feel more in tune with the gameplay. Really cool.

Fun fact: Duality was the codename Riot developers used for Bind while making the game, you can still find the name inside the game files (the entire Bind map is stored on a folder called "Duality").
Other codenames for maps were "Bonsai" for Split and "Triad" for Haven

Imagine 2 Phoenix just staring each other in a real match.
My personal head canon for the duplicate/parallel universe is that the parallel planet has found a special use for radianite but has (likely) run their source dry, but have figured out how to hop to other parallel universes/planets, and are (clearly) trying to steal the current planet's source of radianite.
I also (in my opinion) think that the Retake - Cinematic takes place when the Valorant group have been fighting their parallel's for a while, and the parallel's have taken over different location for gathering radianite with using the spike (those maps that we play on might have a high abundance of radianite surrounding it possibly). So the Valorant group send out multiple squads of different sizes and people to combat them to try and stop them for gathering radianite for the parallel's unknown purpose. (for now)
