    We just tested the range on the Cardos and found that line of sight you could get about a quarter of a mile if that helps.

    Thanks for the video guys! I've been considering both these options for awhile and have been leaning towards the cardo, mostly as an "in car option" but also for the convenience of doubling its use on my dual sport helmet for the 2 wheeled days.
    Good thoughts, thank for taking the time to make the video!

    We use tyt Amazon radios. They work pretty good, but usually at least one guy will have a problem. We’ve talked about the Cardo option for a while. I appreciate the info. We ride in Tennessee a bunch and we will need more range than that will offer. Love the videos. Keeping it real

    I don't ride with other UTVs super often and none of our friends have Cardo setups but I think it's the best option if you DON'T need car to car and have passengers all the time. I wish they would have done black headsets instead of white, though 😆

    Question, Can you use any head set to connect the edge to, Or do you need the edge headset? For instance I have several ear protection head sets around that would be great to hook the edge to if possible.

    Nice review. One additional thing to consider is you can add a Bluetooth adapter to a rack radio and you get the best of all worlds. Long range radio connectivity, in car wireless bluetooth connectivity, mesh connectivity too. The adapter is made by sena, sr10.

      @jasentmful . I've been using cardio for about a year really like them. Talking on radio thru sr10, has anyone said your transmitted audio is very low. That's my problem w out fix yet. Thoughts

  • @jacksloan3516
    @jacksloan3516 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did both in one.
    I was upset that I had Cardo Freedom 2+ for my wife and I on our motorcycle helmets, but they wouldn't work with the Cardo headset.
    So, I bought two Rugged Radio behind the head headset and two Cardo cradles for Freedom 2+ and wired them into the Rugged radio headsets. So instead of spending $800 to get Cardo headsets with Pack Talks or $1200 for a Rugged radio system I spend $100 per head set and $25 for Freedom 2+ cradles and now have a behind the head headset that works with Cardo Freedom 2+ and will still work with rugged radio setup if needed.
    Note I used the rugged radio speakers, but I had to add a Cardo mic to the boom because there was an impedance miss match with the rugged radio mic. Luckly I still had the Velcro mounted extra mics that came originally with the Freedom 2+ set.

    I’ve got a krx with full cab kit. It’s very loud inside the cab and makes conversations very difficult when riding with a passenger. Will the ear muffs muffle the noise and allow opportunity to drive and talk and listen to music

  • @bobmac95

    Good video, question on the Cardo. Is the boom mic a “hot mic”? Meaning does it pick up wind and engine noise? When you talk to each other, does the music mute, or do you just talk over it? Thanks

    • @OffCamberInd
      @OffCamberInd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It picks up your voice automatically and muted the music until your done. It usually doesn’t pick up wind unless there’s a really big gust or you’re going really fast into the wind. In your settings on the app, you can adjust how sensitive it is

    • @theingobeck4772
      @theingobeck4772 ปีที่แล้ว

      The noise-canceling does an awesome job. You'll hear wind/engine noise for a second then it will cancel it out. It's very easy to have a conversation even doing 60mph, for us. Music sounds awesome, even better with the in-helmet speakers for some reason.

    Not sure if i missed it in the video. I was looking, but didn't see anyone ask in the comments either. What is the real world battery life like for the Cardo? Can it be charged on the fly and be used simultaneously?

    • @OffCamberInd
      @OffCamberInd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cardo says 12-13 hrs on a full charge. We haven’t tested using them while charging, but our assumption is yes - it works while charging
